Wow, watching the Yanks / Mariners on MLB.TV and what a horrendous bottom 5th the Yanks pitching staff is having, this is almost laughable. Too bad their bats will probably bail them out but it is entertaining watching them fall apart.
In the last 3+ innings, Yankee pitching (may I call it pitching) has recorded 9 outs, allowed 12 runs.Special K said:Wow, watching the Yanks / Mariners on MLB.TV and what a horrendous bottom 5th the Yanks pitching staff is having, this is almost laughable. Joe. I don't see how this guarantees Ramon Cortez' arrival in the Bronx. As for Cashman working on deals, what do you expect the Yankees to part with to acquire quality middle relief? They aren't parting with their prospects and other teams ain't giving it away.Joe.t said:This is actually very good news as it surely guarantee's the arrival of a pitcher with the initials of RC to the bronx, i also wouldnt be surprised if Cashman is working on some deals to bring in some quality pitching as the middle relief of the Yankees suck the big one also, you cant depend on ARod and the boys to bail you out every night.
IF, if, if, if, if they add Clemens. I'm sure glad my team isn't banking on someone they've got a roughly 30 chance of acquiring two months from now. As for Hughes, given the way they've (wisely) nursed him, I wouldn't expect to see him in the bigs before the All Star break.EagerBeaver said:Wang, Pettite and Mussina in the rotation is still a good start, and if they add Clemens and Hughes comes back in mid-June, I feel that will be the rotation second half of the season. And it is a very good potential rotation. None of the other guys they have used as a starter has really impressed.
The middle relief will be better once the rotation can be stabilized.
I wonder how long before Joe.T starts touting 1 game winner Wang for the Cy. Right now it's looking like a battle between Beckett and Wakefield.Special K said:I was actually rooting for him too, the only thing that would've been better though is if he lost the perfect game in the 9th on an Arod error. Lol.

Cy Wang
Pettite
Mussina
Clemens
Hughes

Not only the best pitcher in the modern era, but the best pitcher in the history of the game. That said, the last thing the Yankees need is another 5 inning pitcher, which is what Clemens has become. He is 45 and, while his numbers in the pitiful NL Central have been dominant the last three years, back at the tender age of 42, when last in the AL East, he was little better than a league average pitcher.EagerBeaver said:No, the Yankees are getting the best pitcher in the modern era of baseball who still has it just like Nolan Ryan did into his late 40s!
rumpleforeskiin said:one of Pettitte-Wang-Mussina is likely to be on the DL at any given time............... with three starting pitchers vieing for the Cy Young award, the Sox figure they're all set.
