I couldn't agree more with Iggy. Right on all counts!
On another note, i'm curious to see if the Red Wings & Habs will make any type of splash today. My guess is that they have to if they want to remain competitive. I wouldn't be surprised if Detroit misses the playoffs this season, on their way to a new decade of decline since the retirement of their leader, Nicky Lidstrom.
As for the habs, it'll be the same ol' story again: ride the season on Carey Price's back, hoping for the best. I think they'll manage to squeak into the playoffs, and that Mike Therrien will finish the season as the team's head coach (a rarity in Montreal these days).
I also have a feeling that everyone's favorite punching bag, Scotty Gomez, will spend the season in Mtl. I can't imagine any team trading for him, nor the team buying him out. A possibility would be him winding up in Hamilton, but why? They could have done it last season when he was more expensive than he'll be this season.
