But the Oilers owe last night's win to Cam Talbot and Cam Talbot alone. He was fantastic!!! His acquisition from the Rangers now looks like a stroke of brilliance!.

I told you that 2 years ago Doc Cosby

I totally agree with this.. the NHL makes their own rules up every year.. maybe they'll change it up sometime soon..
however if you think of it they don't want to make the eastern players travel too far away and tire them out in the start of the series if they have to play western teams first ..

So what do you propose?? #1 vs #8 in each conference like we used to have where the outcome of many first-round series would usually be pre-determined?

Look behind you.
Wasn't last night's game being shown on CBC? Or was it on Sportsnet?

I checked everything, I have basic cable with pick 15, will call Cogeco tomorrow and find out more. Do not mind going to the Cage, cute bartender to chat with.

And lets not forget that McDavid has the luxury of playing with players like Milan Lucic, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, Jordan Eberle & Leon Draisaitl

I was speaking to a friend tonight how it would be cool if Mcdavid got his first cup that soon and the oilers finally end there misery streak after those years, but then he reminded me Lushit was over there now... AAARRRRGGG it killed my joy. I hate this guy, and the fact he does wear the Boston colors anymore does not make it any different...

In any case im surprise at the way the Caps got owned today... they will have to get there shit together for next match cause 0-2 is not good, but 0-3 is not forgiving...

Look behind you.
It seems unfair that the Pens and Caps have to meet in the Eastern semifinals, doesn't it? I.

Looks like a Pit / Wsh playoff would not have been that exciting.

Yes the Caps are lamentables..and what to say about Holtby...a desaster...Fleury and Talbot are doing the job...just spectacular...not him . It seems the end of the road for the Caps....another year de déception.....toooooo bad.

..and yesterday TALBOT was not great......not spectacular as Fryday----and GIBSON not that spectacular BUT he did the good saves at the right moments to keep his team in the game. In playoffs goalies are the key...for winning.

Not often I will quote Don Cherry... "Show me a good goalie and I will show you a good coach"

This is indeed the key for the playoffs!

Goaltenders are not everything. If the team can't score they can't win.... look at MTL... didn't allow much goals but couldn't score any.

for me goaltending is like pitching in baseball.......if your pitcher is spectacular he will b the key pour les victoires.....as goaltender he does not score points BUT his good performance will make the difference.......

The difference is the defense in front of the goalie. If you see offensive players camped out in front of the net hacking away at rebounds and tipping and screening shots that are blasted at the goalie, the goalie has very little chance to do anything.

Pitchers in baseball also need to rely on a good defense. A ground ball pitcher needs sure handed infielders with good range. If so he will get rally killing double plays. Although pitchers are often assessed on how difficult it is to make contact against them, some pitchers will pitch to contact or else draw soft contact ahd there are statistical models that enable them to be assessed in these respects.

These are team sports and position players rely on good performances by their teammates to succeed.

From what I have seen I think the Pittsburgh Penguins have a very strong chance to repeat.
