Look behind you.
Pretty confident that Talbot will recover as he did with the 7-0 loss to the Sharks, win the next one and the next round is in sight.

I think so too. An offensive team will get some of these big loss once in a while. No need to worry, a loss is a loss, 7 - 0 or 1 - 0 is not important when the next game is on.

Capitals almost blow out a 2-0 lead in the last 2 minutes of play... they had to win this cause if they didn't ... there where done. Pretty sure Crosby has a concussion... so the wind may change side... Altough i picked the Capitals its sad that one of the best player in the game get injured that way. The hitS where dirty too...

If you watch the replay Ovechkin high sticked Crosby before Niskanen hit Crosby. Ovechkin got no penalty. Had Crosby not been high sticked and thrown off balance by Ovechkin, he would have better absorbed that hit by Niskanen. I think Niskanen said it was just an unfortunate collision. He knows that it was the Ovechkin high stick hit that set Crosby up to be prone to the next collision which was immediate.

I think you guys need to go watch tape and revise your opinions accordingly. Ovechkin should have been given a high sticking or interference penalty and Niskanen should not have gotten a penalty. Sometimes you are just in the wrong place at the wrong time but that is not a penalty. As far as Ovechkin's actions go he knew Crosby was scoring if he didn't react to the play so he reacted and shit happened. It's a high stick and an interference and nothing else. Hockey is a violent sport and you guys need to deal with it.

Yes true. But I did watched it a few times. Yes Ovechkin made it worst but I still think Niskanen could have avoided that hit. The player was already falling. He may say he tried to hit the elbow but hit the head instead. Would have been best to avoid the hit at all.

Reminds me of fucking Kris Kreider flying in Cary Price few years ago. He was was put down by a Habs player yes but did nothing to avoid the hit. Flew down skate first on Price, how often do you see that. Another one that could be avoided. Putting out the best player on such mis-hit is bad for the game.

Just my opinion.

This is a tough one. In my opinion Ovechkin triggered the whole thing off with his blatant careless use of his stick with that awful slash. That was definitely a penalty. This action led to Crosby going off balance & directly into Niskanen's path and who was setting up to hit Crosby. Niskanen likely wasn't targeting the head when he made the decision to hit Crosby (which was his job, by the way) but the way Crosby involuntarily turned into him caused the head to be struck. I don't believe Niskanen had enough time to react. It was the type of play which took a split-second to happen in the heat of playoff battle.

Ovechkin should have got a penalty for slashing. I'm okay with Niskanen getting a roughing penalty. But although i'm slightly siding with the Penguins in this series (although i put money on Washington to make it to the finals), i don't believe Niskanen deserves to be suspended. It was an unfortunate play and there is a lot of hoopla about it because it's Sidney Crosby, it's the playoffs and he has a long history of concussions.

Niskanen has not been suspended...the league concluded that it was non intentionnel.....avec le recul i could agree wit BUT was the slash of Ovechkin was intentionnel....i don't know but for sure he deserved a penalty..and probably more......am a Caps fan but i did not like it at all.......

And i think that the PENS will b really really ready for tonight after this sad episode ....and they will win. They have all the ressources and talents to do so. Dans le passé même privés de leur capitaine ils ont su bien réagir et gagner. Demeurent avec une formidable attaque.

Pens-Caps.....well well well...knew it.....Pens were ready to win that big one......Caps...too sleepy.....Ovechkin sleepy and what a bad penalty, power play sleepy, Holtby sleepy......they are done. Kuzy and Williams did well....was not enough. Of course Oshie should not have a penalty...BUT there is no excuse for the way they played.

Oilers-Ducks.......many thought there was an icing on Silverberg's goal...am one of them....BUT the ref did not......and there we are.

The Ducks heavily outshot and out face-offed the Oilers. It's experience. Ducks have plenty of it. The Oilers are playing their first playoffs. Their time hasn't come. It's coming in the next few years but they just aren't ready for prime time games like this.

Uh, Beav: the Edmonton Oilers have won 5 Stanley Cups. :first:

They've also been in the playoffs 15 times over the years and lost in the finals to the Carolina Hurricanes 11 years ago. Had they prevailed it would have been Stanley Cup #6. They are one of the most successful NHL franchises in history. Remember the names Gretzky, Messier & Coffee?

I am talking about the current group of Oilers- young and totally untested in playoffs, and haven't accomplished anything yet. Messier and Gretzky aren't on this team.

Milan Lucic & Cam Talbot are. Todd McLellan?

p.s. The same could be said of the Predators & Senators. Capitals? Blues?

All I can say about Ottawa is they are lucky they have home ice advantage in this series because in NYC they look like a herd of deer caught in the headlights.
