Good trade for Arizona. New York is allowed to make a mistake once in a while. They overpaid because the east is wide open this year, anybody can win.

I've been hearing that the Leafs & Red Wings have been working on a Dion Phaneuf trade for some time & that talks have been heating up since yesterday. There is now a very good possibility that Captain Dion will be a Red Wing later today, which should make my good buddy JC very happy!

In other news, the Wings acquired Eric Cole from Dallas. I didn't even know he was still playing hockey.

Ollie Jokinen traded to the Blues for a conditional 6th-round pick next season. No doubt the Leafs will honor him at centre ice when the Blues visit them next Saturday.

Korbinian Holzer was just shipped to the Ducks, who are piling up on defence. Holzer is currently out with a concussion.

JC is very VERY happy: Dion is still a Leaf.

As for Cole, he may be an old man but he's actually played well recently.

It all came down to money. Since that organization is so fucking cheap, Detroit wanted the Leafs to pick up at least half of Phaneuf's contract. The Leafs considered it, but for them to agree to help the cheapos financially, the cheapskates had to up the ante & send them a more attractive package. When they declined, Dave Nonis literally told Ken Holland to go & fuck himself. He also promised the cheap fuck that Mike Babcock would be a Leaf next season.

This development isn't surprising, since it's the same organization which refuses to pay the best coach in hockey what he wants & deserves.

Somehow i totally believe that is exactly how it went down with Deadtroit, Doc. Lupul was not moved, interesting and i am glad because he is a heart and soul guy that we need to help with the rebuild and install confidence and character in the young guys coming up the next few seasons, if only he could stay healthy his contract would be a bargain.

This years draft is deeeeeeeeeeeep and finally the Leafs will get their #1 center (depending on Nylander and where he plays, they may already have a true #1) hopefully Dylan Strome or Marner. Not likely they win the lottery to get Connor McDavid. I see the rebuild as a 3 year process because they already have a bunch of good prospects in the pipeline thanks to Burke and Company and will have even more once some trades are made on draft day.

Welcome back iggy, have not heard from you in this tread for awhile. Think positive things change quickly. Next years team will look a lot different . I am looking forward to see what changes they make. Hope they get Babcock and McDavid. I know the league and Rogers Sportsnet would like that.

Thanks November! (although it has not been that long, lol)... I have a few projects going on and a couple of parties in the works that take a lot of time to plan correctly ;) which reminds me, if a guy with the name like LeafsSuck gets an invite, surely you can as well! :D Hit me up in a pm if interested.

That would be great if they get both Player and Coach but I will settle for one or the other. None is a possibility as well but as always a true fan should always cheer for the sweater first.

Go Leafs Go!

I haven't watched a Leafs game in over a month. In the past two months, i watched one.....the Leafs game in Mtl last month. I've pretty much shut my 'fandom' down until next season & hope they lose every game until April.

Tonight, i have a lot of money on the Senators (one of my new favorite teams this season) to beat the visiting Leafs. Last night, i made $500 when Tampa beat the Red Wings, who are led by the future Leafs coach. Lately, i've made so much money from my bets (i usually bet against the habs & for the Sens) that i'm contemplating another trip to Mtl prior to the summer! Yes!!! :D
