Leafs Nation fed up with Phaneuf

Even Leaf fans - not exactly known for their intelligence! - are now realizing that: 1. Burke is nothing but hot air, 2. Phaneuf is useless on-ice (a defensive liability) and a team cancer off-ice (which - duh!!! - might be why Calgary was DESPERATE to get rid of him and why NO ONE except Burkie was dumb enough to want him), 3. the Kessel deal was one of the worst in recent hockey history, and 4. the Leafs are going NOWHERE fast!

More waffles please!

Toronto Maple Leafs: Leafs Nation Let's Face It, the Leafs Stink

Great article from start to finish.

This was my favorite line: Mike Komisarek has been the first star of the game most nights for the other team.

A close runner-up for best line was the one about MENSA.

Maybe the Ducks play in Anaheim...but the sitting ducks play in Hogtown!

"merging superstar" held goal-less yet again last night

Kessel could make Kessel trade look a lot better

A member of the Toronto Maple Leafs told me Friday that Phil Kessel was good enough to score 30-35 goals a year in his sleep. I believe it. Because Kessel is doing just that -- slumbering his way towards another 30-goal season. Imagine how good he'd be if he actually woke up, then grew up as a pro.

Maple Leafs short on grit

Roberto Luongo looked a little rattled at the start, the Sedin Twins were quiet and yet the Leafs couldn’t or wouldn’t take advantage.

When players such as Versteeg, and big defencemen Mike Komisarek and Dion Phaneuf compound the problem with needless penalties, then it’s no surprise the Leafs are around 10 points out of a playoff spot with four teams to pass and 2011 coming up fast on the calendar.

No luck in paging Dr. Wilson

Gruff Maple Leaf coach's search for a cure to 'blue-and-white disease' put him out of reach Friday

Toronto was 12-15-4 and remained one of the National Hockey League's poorest teams.

Most nights, he simply seems bitter and unhappy to have to deal with the Toronto media,

Maple Leafs short on grit

Very true. They're also short on talent, intelligence, management and coaching.

But MOST of all, they're short on a FUTURE. This hopeless team is destined to suck for many years...or should I say "for many decades"?

Yes, Ron Wilson said Luongo was "shaky" and one of the Sedins said that the Canucks didn't have their game and struggled all night...yet Vancouver STILL demolished the poor hapless talent-free Leafs!

No surprise about the two braindead overrated defencemen. Versteeg however was okay for Chicago but it looks like after one third of a season as a Leaf his on-ice IQ has dropped by about 85. Maybe what Komi and Phaneuf have is contagious? I almost feel sorry for the little guy (no, not Kessel - Versteeg).

Is Burke ready to tip?

The clock is ticking on another lost and losing season

As incredible as it might seem ..., the Leafs are actually in worse shape points-wise than they were after 33 games in the historically inept 2009-10 campaign.

Sitting in 28th place with 28 points, the Leafs have three points fewer than they did at the same point in that frustrating season, a fifth consecutive year outside of the playoffs.

Kessel: Out of touch

When Phil Kessel goes home to Wisconsin for the Christmas holidays, he won’t even be the most productive scorer around the dinner table.

The slumping Maple Leafs forward will surrender that honour to his little sister Amanda, who is lighting it up as a freshman on the women’s team at the University of Minnesota.

With just five goals in the past 25 games played since Oct. 28
