While there are many celebrities that I think are gorgeous, I've never understood how people can lose their minds over their looks to the extent that it's as if they were so much more attractive than anyone they're likely to encounter every day in their own cities.

Exactly ... the same is said regarding musicians - for every great artist you hear there are 10 more just as good or better that the general public will never get to know.

But, getting back to gorgeous women (yeah, I know - it's superficial) ...

somebody out here was talking about J-Lo (that's "Jennifer Lopez" when translated back into English) ..

OK - so Jennifer was your typical Puerto-Rican "mami" from The Bronx in the north end of NYC (which is where I grew up). There's a beautiful public beach there in Pelham Bay Park called Orchard Beach that is quite popular with the Latino population from both The Bronx and the north end of Manhattan which includes the neighborhood 'Spanish Harlem'. And there's quite an abundance of gorgeous 'Latinas' that flock to Orchard Beach in the summertime.

The Parks Dept. of NYC provides all kinds of activities & entertainment year-round in most NYC public parks. And, because of the large Latino population, on summer weekends the Parks Dept. features free music concerts with popular Latino-Americano bands playing every kind of Cubano, Puerto-Ricano, and native NYC salsa music there is.

So, what's the point?

If you go to Orchard Beach on any given Saturday or Sunday during the summer, you are guaranteed to see at least 10 women who are just as, or better-looking, than J-Lo.

But, in bikinis ... and ... dancing to salsa music
