There is a reason why the US has the 2nd ammendement. It is to be able to defend against tyranical governments. Communist/Authoritarian governments always want to ban guns under the pretense of protection.
Haha. You're always good for a laugh. Yes we have a bunch of guns over here, but the government has higher yield weapons like drones, stealth bombers, tanks, nuclear submarines etc. The idea of guns to fight back against the government was definitely within reach when the 2nd Amendment was written. With modern warfare technology though, fighting the government with small arms like an AR-15 would be like a legitimate (not celebrity) boxing match between Mike Tyson and a toddler.

Besides, because we have the benefit of an actual system of government in the West, the way we fight back is not with actual weapons but at the ballot box. Your country had another chance to oust Trudeau very recently and he's still there, coalition or not. Fighting back with guns is what happens in a lawless nation state like Somalia. They arrested the four protesters alleged to have planned killing RCMP officers in Alberta for a reason. The authorities didn't just wave their hands and say, "Oh no big deal the alleged plotters were just putting their politics into action because they really don't like the government."

Trudeau is still there because the opposition parties are weak. Buying votes by bringing in lots of immigrants/refugees and giving them lots of social benefits is the oldest form of corruption and proves his position is very weak. With this latest blunder with the trucker protests, Trudeau sealed the end of his political career. This is it for him. He is the laughing stock of the world. Thanks for the laugh though.

Isn’t the opposition also pro-immigration?

In Canada, he is our elected Prime Minister. In Canada, we have a fair election where anyone is allowed to vote over the age of 18 and immigrants that are permanent residents cannot vote, only citizens. Also in Canada, any immigrant who becomes a Canadian citizen is nothing less than a Canadian citizen (no subclass or second tiers) allowed to enjoy all the wonderful benefits that Canadians enjoy in the best country in the world. To say that Trudeau is a laughing stock around the world is not quite fact, as you know opinions are just that and I don't think you actually polled every citizen in the world to ask them if they think Trudeau is a laughing stock. In Canada, we do have polls to get the pulse of citizens and their approval/disapproval of Trudeau. His approval/disapproval has been a roller coaster ride since becoming Prime Minister 7 years ago. Sometimes he is loved and sometimes he is not. However, currently, he is still not at his disapproval .peak of March 2019. Further, as I mentioned in a prior post, Trudeau called a free and fair election as a referendum to ensure Canadians supported him and his government in response to the Covid19 pandemic. He won that election. As you mentioned it's because of this and because of that...whatever the reason, he won the election, fairly and squarely. Now, this does not mean that he wouldn't win again today, nor does it mean that he would lose today. Your opinion doesn't really count as it is just an opinion. The real test of politicians here in Canada is the ballot box and in a democracy, we must support the outcome regardless of if we agree or disagree with the policies. The right to protest a policy is a fundamental right in a democracy and Trudeau supports protesting, he has said it time and time again. What is not supported is blockades as this hinders the lives and freedoms of other citizens.

I have always been a Liberal voter for years till Trudeau got elected. I like the party but not the man leading it. Trudeau is corrupt (the WE Scandale), a liar, power hungry, and is a far-left extremist. I never thought someone this young would have this mentality. When he first came to politics I voted for him, little did I know what kind of man he is, none of us knew. He tricked us all. Trudeau's first win against Harper was legit. But after that his position was very weak. Buying votes with taxpayers money is the oldest form of corruption. Trudeau gives special treatment to minority groups, gives them lots of social benefits, sends a lot of money to foreign countries to have the votes of minority groups. He went to India and danced with their attire (all public knowledge and was on the news. He made a deal which is not public but it is obvious that a deal was made). He fast tracked the immigration of Indians in the hopes to have their votes. It worked. He changed the laws where now the retired parents of recent immigrants can become citizens and collect OAS (they get double to amount of a Canadian citizen btw) and are often collecting pension from their countries. Makes no sense to give away so much money to foreigners when we got so many homeless people in our country and veterans and Natives in need. Retired parents of recent immigrants should be welcomed but on super visa only meaning they are not eligible to get OAS or to vote. Immigrants get their citizenship and guess who they vote for? Trudeau. He did this to slowly gain control of parliament. But even with all of this his position is still very weak. Two last elections he got a minority government. Reason is the opposition party leader was very weak. O'Toole was a joke. The guy was so wishy washy, he had no spine. He was a Liberal lite. All it will take is a strong leader and Trudeau will be gone. The last election that he called was a power grab and was so needless given that we were under the grip of covid. It was the most expensive election in Canadian history due to covid mandates, and taxpayers will be held on the hook for the bill. All that to be at the same spot as before. No change at all. Trudeau is spending recklessly, the debt is out of control. The younger generation will be on the hook for it. Inflation is high.

Having said all of that in view of recent events of the trucker convoy, Trudeau's handling of the situation gets a big fail. Many people said that including those in politics. He miraculously got covid (I do not believe he did) and was in hiding. He was hiding and instead of negotiating he was slandering them calling them names like White supremacists, Swastikas, and spreading all other kind of lies which is not true at all. So instead of trying to solve and break a bad situation he antagonizes them and inflames them further. He finally declares the Emergency act after two weeks which indicates that the government failed in dealing with the situation. Trudeau's career is over. He is done and his knows it. During his speech Freeland took the spotlight. My guess is Freeland will succeed the Liberal party. Funny you talk about blockages, the government is responsible for shutting down many businesses and causing so much loss of revenue for many people. No one wants to have that conversation. The trucker convoy is a reaction to the Canadian government's persistent nanny state laws. Many countries have dropped covid mandates and Canada was expanding its covid mandates. Only due to the trucker convoy the premieres got the point and they rolled back most if not all covid mandates. Legault took a 180 turn. He knows the polls show that people want covid mandates to be gone and the frustration is growing. Legault lost a significant popularity to Eric Duhaime (and he will be getting my vote), they are now second in lead. We all know Legault basis his policies on polls. Finally in closing I get the part of democracy but I do not agree with corruption and buying votes with taxpayers money. That is despicable. It is very easy to spend other peoples money. What did Trudeau say his most famous speech "Forgive me but I do not think about monetary policy".

Printing money for excessive government spending has caused today's inflation including covid mandates. The correct term for this is Justinflation. Inflation is the most hideous form of tax as it is hidden and without any legislation. Canadians will pay for this by loosing purchasing power. The ones most affected by this will be the poor and middle class. The rich will see their wealth expand.

I'd love to hear the explanation of how inflation will expand the wealth of the rich.

I'd love to hear the explanation of how inflation will expand the wealth of the rich.
Explanation: The majority of wealth of the rich is in stocks, bonds, real estate, investments etc.. In other words not much of it is in liquid asssets (cash). What the rich do and the same game banks do is leverage and hedging. Play the bank’s game. Borrow money from the bank at a fixed rate, buy a cash flowing asset that covers the debt payment, and using less of your own money increases your return on investment. In an inflationary economy, if the debt payment is fixed, it becomes less of a cost as the dollar loses purchasing power and your investments and income grow. An example: Say an average joe bought a house in Toronto say in the 70s for say $200,000, today that same house is probably worth $5 million. The reason for this is investments and income grow is because you purchase assets that hedge against inflation. In an inflationary economy rents rise. When you purchase investment property, the debt payment stays the same while your rents rise due to inflation. This creates more cash flow. You owe the bank only the agreed payment. The rising costs for rent flow straight into your pockets. Same logic. The same thing happens for businesses. As the cost of goods rise for consumers, businesses can adjust their pricing and benefit from inflation. This works because business owners and investors are not selling time. They are selling products that hedge against inflation in relatively real time. They are in control. Employees are not in control of their product/time nor are they in control of their money (the bank or mutual fund is). When inflation rises guess what happens? Because the value of the currency decreases (purchasing power of ordinary ppl drops) all the stocks, bonds, shares, real estate are now all worth more relative to the currency making the rich richer compared to the average joe.

No but Trudeau took it to the extreme and the worst part he is a liar. He says he is for the middle class. Sure he is. He is an elitist.

Name one politician who never lied, the main reason that they are in politics in the first place is to benefit themselves and their friends no matter what party they belong to.

Trudeau revokes the Emergency Act after getting so much s$%^. He did it before he gets humiliated. Trudeau keeps on looking for a crisis to find a reason to grab power. The Emergency Act was way too much. Financially ruining people was not necessary at all. Police have enough power to keep things in order. Trudeau was absent for two weeks. One big mystery. Eagerbeaver said it right and there is indeed a Canadian equivalent to the First Amendment which is the "The Canadian Charter or Rights and Freedoms is the equivalent to the Bill of Rights. Both guarantee the right to freedom of speech and the press, peaceably assemble, travel, due process, privacy, an attorney and speedy trial in criminal cases, and trial by jury in certain cases." I took this quote out of this -> https://www.cga.ct.gov/PS98/rpt\olr\htm/98-R-0143.htm

Of course Trudeau was absent and let this get out of control. When protesting certain rules must be respected. The only crisis we have is government over reach.

When journalists are not on the payroll of the government, they will report the truth. Justin Trudeau traveling to other countries for press conferences for Ukraine's freedom is very hypocritical of Trudeau. This man claims to stand for democracy and freedom yet he used the same tactics used against Canadians that are used by Communist/Autocratic governments like spreading lies (propaganda) on the media that are on the government's payroll, invoking the emergency measure act to freeze bank accounts of Canadians who just want their freedom. Imposing needless covid mandates and telling the premieres of the provinces to impose needless covid mandates and is too arrogant to meet with the truckers and refuses to rollback covid mandates and claims it is for the protection of people which is all one big lie. Well here is the British making fun out of Trudeau.
