I believe the argument would suggest that the difference is that a virus is a danger to public safety, whereas a woman having a baby or not... is not. While I think some of the covid stuff went overboard, would you apply the same line of thinking to a pandemic that really, truly was very serious - that, say, had a mortality rate of... 20-30%? 50%? At what point does one say "yes, everyone should get the vaccine" (particularly if the vaccine is effective) for the good of mankind. Abortions are not a pandemic. So it's not apples to apples.
