I agree.

I think we try proportional representation style voting in the next election.
I like the idea of my vote counting, so I would generally like proportional representation; however, it has many flaws and the flaws alone are enough for me to reconsider.

The first and most important is that a majority government is needed for significant policy changes and transformational change at the federal level.

Have you ever heard of the term' pizza parliament'? With proportional representation, while more democratic, change is extremely difficult because of the fractured, splintered nature of parliament. There is a tendency to stifle and not move forward with change.

Member the time PP voted against a womans right to chose 5 times? I member

I wonder what Merb members would do if the Conservatives had full reigns on womans rights or this particular industry.

Cause it certainly doesn't flow with their values, oh the irony of the votes on this forum
What you should ask yourself is the way the Liberals forced vaccines. I guess my body my choice only applies selectively.

Do you believe in science or do you believe in religion?

Would you be against the ideas of vaccines of children for the spread of measles?

It is not about what you believe in, it is about your right to freedom of choice.
I am on my 8 covid vaccine ( maybe I get a free pizza with the 9) but I would not want government to force me and certainly not to have the curfew hours we had which were a total fucking joke as if Covid plays by a curfew is that science for you lol or government control freaks in action.

This has nothing to do with science or religion. This is about wokeness and ideology. So I ask you again, you Liberals make a big issue of abortions, say that is her body. I agree. But why the double standard when it comes to vaccines Liberals were forcing it on everyone with vaccine passports? What happened to my body my choice? Why not my body my choice for everyone??

FYI: I am an atheist in case you were wondering.

So according to the MERB poll as of this date, Carney has the slightest of leads -25-24 over Polieivier, or 43.1% to 41.4% of the votes cast. Can we count on this MERB poll as being more or less representative of the Canadian population at large?
The short answer is no. MERB community is a skeptical bunch. They normally do not believe in sex trafficking and good government.

I believe the argument would suggest that the difference is that a virus is a danger to public safety, whereas a woman having a baby or not... is not. While I think some of the covid stuff went overboard, would you apply the same line of thinking to a pandemic that really, truly was very serious - that, say, had a mortality rate of... 20-30%? 50%? At what point does one say "yes, everyone should get the vaccine" (particularly if the vaccine is effective) for the good of mankind. Abortions are not a pandemic. So it's not apples to apples.

Yes but it was not 20 to 30%. This is not the Black Plague. And as for abortions, one can say it should not even be a major point when there are so many forms of contraception, I understand that in some cases it is needed. But I never said abortions should be illegal, that could not be further from the truth. I was calling out the OP on his double standard like many other Liberals have. From what I seen, it did not seem like the vaccine was particularly effective, I heard of many cases of triple vaxxed people getting infected with covid. I stopped at two vaccines and had no more plans to get anymore. Covid for the most part had the effect of a flu, most people did okay but a few people did poorly, usually the ones with comorbidities. I read how African countries had a low death rate even though, 4 fold less compared to Europe and North America even though they had very little to no covid mandates and much less access to vaccines. Apparently their population was much younger.

I believed in vaccines before I found out about what’s in them / “new science” lmao.
I believed in vaccines before I found out about who owns them / big pharma / money machine aka create the problem and offer a solution.

Mass formation psychosis - to see people freak out about a 99.98% survival rate of the fucking flu because GOV FUNDED MEDIA (also new pharma) told them so on TV LMAO. The fear and propaganda really brainwashed the masses.

It truly was a psychological operation to see how many people will bow down / line up / roll up their sleeves. Yet these people got the sickest amongst everyone - because they injected that mRNA crap into themselves lmao. They get jabbed and develop severe illnesses, turbo cancers and croak - they’re not questioning anything ahhahahaha

People really can’t see - even till this day that it’s not about your health it’s about control. Look at all the fkn commotion it caused and ruined friendships and families.

The worst was letting old folks die alone because people didn’t have a vaccine passport? Talk about Gestapo type shit eh?

If your vaccine really works then you’re protected lmao so stfu about other people getting it? It’s like I should start wearing seatbelts in public as I go for a walk to not get into a car accident? If it works so much then be happy you're protected. I hear a lot of people who got it complain and say they regret taking it. I never heard anyone who didn’t get it complain and regret NOT getting it lmao. As a matter of fact we’re still here and not sick and haven’t gotten convid once lmao because we’re smarter than that and don’t believe stupidity.

Also side note: I worked in construction / extremely dirty and dusty places. We learned a lot about PPE.

I don’t know if yall are aware but - the types of masks we used to PROTECT OUR LUNGS were of a certain standard / had specific filters / cartridges for different types of environments.

It’s not a flimsy piece of cloth or coffee filter paper mask that will help stop a fkn pandemic lmao. Everyone should’ve been wearing a 3M 7502 / respirator masks with specific filters that THE GOVERNMENT WOULD HELP SUPPLY… they wouldn’t advise in reusing the toilet paper masks or cloth masks every other day. So many people rewore their used masks.

The charade and circus you saw on television was exactly that - to make people scared into thinking thag we were all gonna croak. Also.. WTF WAS A VISOR needed? I used a visor while grinding metal lmao. METAL. Not an “airborne virus”. It’s truly ridiculous how many people fall for the stupidest things ever.

The ultra best were the arrows on the ground and the plexiglasses. Makes a lot of sense, create a barrier between people - make them think they’re safe and avoid germs… pay in cash, handle groceries. Yes. Genius plan.

I think you're totally missing the point. Was I for forced vaccines, arrive scam, etc... No

But you also need to realize, a pandemic was going on and personally I think the Gov crumbled to the pressure. It was a lose lose scenario, either they are proactive and force out the vaccine mandate or sit back and do nothing. Potentially wind up like NYC with bodies being stored in outdoor fridges.

Either way if they sat back and did nothing or took the proactive approach with science. They were getting called out.

Now what's irresponsible, is to tell a woman what and what cant she do with her body and remove the choice to chose. I'm sorry but Canada isnt some redneck red State. If Teemu Trump wants to push that agenda here in Canada, it wont work. And it shows his true colours at the end of the day.

And look at that, taking another page outta the Trump playbook.

Exactly. What they did was an example of McCarthyism. This should never happen in a democratic society. Remember the curfew? Because according to the so called experts the virus came out at night and slept in the day. Looool

Spending a loonie — or even a minute — trying to change the minds of the ~20% who dislike everyone and know everything is a waste of time.
Criticize a plan — that’s fair — but at least have one. The alternative so far has been little more than anti-Trudeau, anti-woke, anti-immigrant sloganeering. That’s not a vision. That’s a tantrum.
People often wonder whether they’d like to have a beer with the person they’re voting for. But honestly — does anyone want to have a beer with Pierre Poilievre? He comes across like the guy you’d cross the street to avoid: prickly, peevish, and peddling old, failed ideas.
He disrespects women, dismisses Indigenous voices, and idolizes a lawless felon with autocratic ambitions and dangerous designs on Canada and the world.
What exactly is there to like?

I think the Conservatives would get better polling if they had a more likeable leader, imo.
