I don't calculate the percentage in order to keep sane. I respond to the vast majority of inquiries (everyone but the 4am "dispo?" guys). Yes, it's a red flag, but I tell myself that I'm a politician so I answer the question I wanted to be asked instead of the one I was actually asked. It usually looks like "Hello, I'm good how are you? Where did you find my ad?" or "Hi! I'm Michelle, what's your name?"
In any industry, clientele can range the spectrum, that is why I asked if you had a rough idea of how many inquiries fell under this category. Your profession is much more difficult though, as I am sure there are alot of inquiries that fall under the time waster category. Not to mention, the concerns for safety and potential bad clients. I can't imagine the amount of time/effort that needs to be invested, to vet/book potential clients.
It really depends on a million different factors like where I have ads, or have refreshed my "online now", season, day of the week etc. There can really be dozens in a day or zero.

Like Michelle said, a very large amount of inquiries are from people who didn't read the ad fully and are being impolite. Even just this weekend I had people contact me and waste my time only to ask if I offer x service which isn't in my ad..
Parfois, oui. C'est arrivé que je me fasse dire ça, dans ces mots là exactement. Des fois c'est difficile de savoir si la personne me niaise ou si elle s'essaie vraiment parce qu'elle croit que je suis désespérée, ce qui n'est pas le cas.. Certains clients aussi ne comprennent pas qu'on a le droit de ne plus offrir une option ou un service en particulier et vont mettre beaucoup de pression ou utiliser de la manipulation pour avoir ce qu'ils veulent.. Et ça ne marche pas, ou du moins pas avec moi, et pas avec la plupart des SP que je connais.
I think everyone who does escorting thinks about their retirement plan this whole time. I've only been in this industry for about 3 years but all the sw'rs I've met have had other sources of revenue at least at some point during their career as an escort. I've also heard of 55-60 year old escorts. Not saying I'll still be escorting at that age cause I won't lol.. I'm just saying it's a thing and there is probably a demand for it. Personally in the next 5 years I want to get to a point where I make enough $$ otherwise and can be low volume and still reach my goals and feel financially stable and comfortable. I don't see myself being an escort anymore in 10 years, not because I'll be too old, but because it's a temporary journey for me. When I started in the industry I thought I'd only do it for a couple months, then a couple months turned to a year, and then a year turned to 3 years, and I had to start taking this job very seriously in many ways. It's a big part of my life currently, but it's not a part of my identity to be a sex worker.
It's not a truth. Some are more responsible than others. Your judgement can apply to a lot of people in our rich society, many have debts and still spend carelessly.

No and it's a lot more complicated than that. Being an escort isn't like having a stable job. Everyone has a complex financial reality and I think it's a value judgement to say escorts "spend their money carelessly" if they use their money in a way that you wouldn't.
Independents usually have 15, 20, 40 photos on their website (our portfolio often goes back 2 or 3 years so you can see if we changed or not), add photos from at least one new professional photoshoot every year, many posts a lot of selfies on social media with regular interactions, and have an ad copy with often pertinent details in it. The whole gives you a good portrait enough, the people who book me don't need more details. But you can find my measurements and other details on one of my advertising platforms, to me that is enough.
