I'll make a prediction...Dion Phaneuf looked like a Norris trophy candidate!

I'll make another prediction... after a couple more goals from Dion, Doc will predict the Norris for him.... and we all know what will happen... he will be voted once again the most overated player of the league...by all the other players...as well as all the other teams and hockey fans outside of TO (which means the world)

I'll make a prediction:... Iggy is correct. The Habs are a small team & they disappear when it gets physical...

I'll make a prediction... one of your cheap player will disappear for a while and so does a couple more who will get beat up by the end of the year since all the other teams now will play dirty against TO...thus TO ain't gonna make the playoffs once again !

Ca va etre la grosse baloune qui va peter encore une fois !

Some nut case at HO thought they would sell those all around in Canada.

Excerpt from an article about the game:

After Phaneuf scored during a two-man advantage at 13:15, another donnybrook broke out when Orr clipped Plekanec’s leg, although the Canadiens centre avoided a direct hit with a last-moment leap and was not injured.

Gionta and Rene Bourque jumped in, but it was Gorges who ended up fighting the six-foot-five Frazer McLaren, who was smiling as he held off the enraged Canadiens defenceman.

Therrien said the NHL’s disciplinarians should look at that incident as well, but Carlyle pinned all the nastiness on Prust.

“We’ve got to take care of our own selves and we’ve got to look after business,” he said. “And all the complaining that they want to do about it, the whole thing was started by what we felt was one player.

“Well, Prust, we know what kind of player he is and he goes out and cheap shots Grabovski. Well, what are we supposed to do? We’re not supposed to play the rest of our players for the rest of the night? Well, they’ve got another thing coming. That’s not happening to our group.”

Bad blood boils over in Leafs demolition of Canadiens

This very young team coached by Randy Carlyle means business & any team facing them will no longer take them lightly. Go Leafs Go!!

p.s. I still predict that the Habs will finish no better than 11th. "Ca sent la Cave a Montreal!" :D

The Leafs did not start the scrums, that would be the job of one mr brandon "rat" prust who was running around doing his steve ott and sean avery impressions. Once the game was out of hand, the poor sportsmanship came out in prust and he lit the fuse that ended up hurting his own team, just ask Gallager (tko by Kostka), ask Rene Bourque (tko by Orr) ask Josh Gorges (tko by McLaren) and prust himself (tko by Frasor) i am sure he had many apologies to hand out to his teammates after the game for being the only real dick on the ice saturday night. Like i said the Leafs did not start anything, but they sure did finish everything.

That for the first time looked like a Randy Carlyle coached team, Skilled first, tough when needed and teammates sticking up for one another for a full 60 minutes.

As far as Grabo and the supposed "biting" of Max P's forearm, it does not look conclusive but the more i thought about it and saw the video a few more times. If ANYONE tries to yank your head back from behind while you are in a scrum with someone else and cover your mouth and nose with force causing a person to not be able to breathe or appear to suffocate someone, he deserves to get bit and many would do the same thing. Max P was as at fault as Grabo for interferring in the Prust/Grabo altercation, are you telling me Prust cant handle himself against The Beast that is #84 ? HAHA!

This game was 100% perfection from start to finish by the Leafs and the best game i have seen in many many years. Now watch them lay an egg against philly tonight lol.

Great game by the canadiAns sat night, yuk yuk yuk, ohhhhhh wise guy, yuk yuk yuk :D

I was watching L'Antichambre (RDS) after the game & someone asked Mario Tremblay for his thoughts on the Orr/Plekanec incident. His reply surprised me, mostly because coming from a die-hard former Hab who never ceases to defend his Habs on talk shows, he was so honest.

Tremblay replied that the Canadiens & Brandon Prust started the whole thing by attacking Grabovsky earlier once the game was out of hand. He added that all Toronto (and Colton Orr) did was payback. "Oeil pour oeil, dents pour dents", he said. Translation: "An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth." He didn't find anything wrong with how Toronto reacted in this situation.

In regards to the Grabovsky incident, i just finished watching 'Hockey Central at Noon' on Sportsnet & the panel were all in agreement that he won't be suspended for the incident, but likely fined in order for the NHL to show that they're against players biting one another. However, as Doug MacLean and Nick Kypreos stated, this type of stuff happens all the time when people are sticking their hands in other people's faces. MacLean also mentionned that anyone who grabs a player from behind and sticks his hands/arms in a player's face should expect such things to happen. The rest of the panel nodded. MacLean earlier mocked the fact everything involving Max Pacioretty gets overblown and overdramatized by the Montreal media. The latest example was the rumoured appendectomy when he was supposed to be out anywhere from a month to 6 weeks. How long was he out for? A week or two? Drama queen!

And i'll say it again: "The Habs will not finish better than 11th. They will AGAIN miss the playoffs."

"Even more unfortunately for fans of Canada's National Embarrassment, the drought will continue long past their lifetimes, as the crappiest franchise in all of professional sports will NEVER win another Cup. (It takes more than beating the Habs - you have to beat good teams also!)"

So tell me why the Leaf franchise is worth more than any other team in monetary terms?

Even though i agree with you, you should not talk about the Habs that way. Sure, they finished in LAST place last season and i expect them to finish no better than 11th, but still....show a little respect for La Sainte Flanelle. ;)

Personally, i cant stand a huge % of Leafs fans as so many are NOT true fans and many are nothing more than bandwagon, case in point, the quiet ACC and the first 10 rows of suits who are ONLY there to been "seen". With that said, the Leafs have so many more fans than other teams that even after getting rid of the "non" Leafs fans, we still out number every other fanbase so yea, i can still agree with your statement. :thumb:

You forgot to add the best fans in the hockey world....and most of all, the most knowledgeable. Leafs Nation rules! :D

Look behind you.
Now back to the other side of Canada. After being out shot 40 - 14 by Columbus the Oilers may have a near first string goalie in Dubynk, now to get a decent defenceman. Still hoping for a playoff season, maybe this year. Hope it does not take 40 some odd years like some teams to get Lord Stanley again :). Ok back to you...

Komiserak would be good for the young oilers, give us a 4th rounder.

do we really need to bring up how long the dead things drought was again? Wow, you beat the Leafs by a few years and i bet had you been around these parts then, when the dead things sucked better than a hottie named Lexxus, you "cairo" would of been nowhere to be found, true fans support their teams thru thick and thin. Orr (oui, COLTON, not Bobby) scores and the Leafs beatdown the Flyers. This is now Randy Carlyles team boys and girls and RC is a great coach as he was a player.

GLG!

The key word here is "past"...as in 46 YEARS past!

Komisarek has actually played decent hockey this season. What got him out of the lineup was a freak self-inflicted injury, and since the team is currently playing great hockey, it's difficult for Komisarek to make his way back into the lineup. However, Korby Holzer has made a few mistakes in his past couple of games (holding onto the puck for too long, etc) and his inexperience shows. I woudn't be surprised to see Komo back in the lineup in their next game.

Komisarek also has a no-movement clause in his contract. I doubt he'd allow the Leafs to trade him to Edmonton. The Oilers are once again a big mess!

The problem with habs fans is that they keep referring & bringing up the past. However, considering they finished LAST in the standings last season and are once again a crappy team, maybe i can't blame 'em!
