He has played well under Carlyle, no doubt , but a cheaper and more productive big man in Mark Frasor is slowly but surely replacing Komi, and Holzer the big German Tank is as well and both much cheaper and younger. Love Komi as a person but if we can get an asset for him, maybe its time to explore that avenue. He would waive his NMC to go play everyday than to sit in the press box.

Komisarek has actually played decent hockey this season. What got him out of the lineup was a freak self-inflicted injury, and since the team is currently playing great hockey, it's difficult for Komisarek to make his way back into the lineup. However, Korby Holzer has made a few mistakes in his past couple of games (holding onto the puck for too long, etc) and his inexperience shows. I woudn't be surprised to see Komo back in the lineup in their next game.

Komisarek also has a no-movement clause in his contract. I doubt he'd allow the Leafs to trade him to Edmonton. The Oilers are once again a big mess!

This is now Randy Carlyles team boys and girls and RC is a great coach as he was a player.

Not too long ago you were joyfully bragging about "Wilson's team" and "Burke's team". How did those four years of complete and total failure work out for you?

The same will happen with "Randy Carlyles team" (sic)...and by the way, let's (again!) not abuse words like "great". Carlyle was a decent player and is a decent coach, but he wasn't the second coming of Bobby Orr (or even Larry Murphy!) as a player, and he's not the second coming of Scotty Bowman (or even Ken Hitchcock!) as a coach.

Here's an equation for you: one decent (NOT "great") coach plus one SHITTY ownership group plus one TOTALLY UNTALENTED bunch of overrated (hi Dion) and one-dimensional (hi Phil) and delicate (hi Joffrey) players equals yet another season of failure for hockey's biggest laughingstock.

But the problem with that is Gunnarsson will be back soon and Mark "Joe" Fraser deserves to keep playing. Fraser = Komi, yet younger and better by a tad. Komi will either be traded or sit in the presser, unless injury to another D man, ONCE Gunnar is back.

However, Korby Holzer has made a few mistakes in his past couple of games (holding onto the puck for too long, etc) and his inexperience shows. I woudn't be surprised to see Komo back in the lineup in their next game.

How did it work out for me? Just the way i said all along, growing pains and it takes time.... we have the second youngest team in all of the NHL and that my fair weather friend means patience with a young group. They have grown together by leaps and bounds so far this season and hate to burst your tiny little bubble, "cairo" but Brian Bukre's imprint is all over this team, like it or not. This team is not gonna win every game and will no doubt lay an egg some nights, but they will also win their share of games and the future is bright for this team once and for all. We have the right coach, the right type of players for THAT coach, and youth with some vets mixed in. GLG!

...winning the Norris Trophy and winning a Stanley Cup = great!

For us real hockey fans to be called 'GREAT' nowadays you need at least :

The Hart 9 times,
Lady Bing 5 times,
Art Ross 5 times,
Conn Smythe 3 times,
Maurice Richard 5 times,
a minimum of 4 Stanley cups,
one Olympic gold,
...and a bunch of NHL records which will probably take over 50 years to be surpassed !

as for the Norris ? named in honour of a Wings owner !

Orr got it 8 times ? in a row
Doug Harvey & Nicklas Lidstrom 7 times
Raymond Bourque 5 times
Chris Chelios, Denis Potvin & Paul Coffey 3 times...

Yes Bruins won this one 14 times and Habs 11 times.

And no, Leafs never won this one ! since 1953

So a coach who won the Norris with another team, AND A STANLEY CUP with another team is not a great coach?

Nop ! but since you are going crazy on this... and you like to pin-point typos or twist what others are saying...

Lets use this medecine on you Iggy :
A coach doesn't win a Norris he has to be a what ? that's it ! you got it !

As for being GREAT once again he's no Gretzky.
Sorry to bust your bubble but he might be a good coach (got 1 Stanley) but compare to Scotty... Randy is just a tini-mini-wini rookie !

Lets see if he can win 8 more and (8 is = 1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1) and we'll call him a Great coach too !

Other than that ?

BTW didn't I say one Leaf player would be out for a while ?
And it's ok to cheer for Leaf's win against Habs and Flyers...

This I agree with, at least they (TO) did a good job !

Y e t'est temps en est! parcontre mais bon... au moins le clown en haut a pu faire son show avec son sticker des Leafs !
Y a juste les rednecks qui le regarde aller de toute facon ! Comme tous les fans des Leafs, y clair qui se sentait seul

No - it takes a lot more than that. If it didn't, there would be COUNTLESS "great" players and coaches...and even under those incorrect and diluted terms almost NONE would be Leafs - bwahaha.

My sympathies to you for being a fan of the absolute worst franchise in pro sports and for suffering through 4 years of incompetency with Wilson and Burkie, not to mention 46 years and counting of abject failure and complete humiliation. I would like to say "Cheer up Ig, it will get better"...but the sad truth is that it WON'T. Face it: your team has sucked for close to half a century and there is NO relief in sight.

I think i will believe the ppl who actually make a living in the hockey, but thanks for your input. Nobody i have heard from in the NHL has ever said anything except that RC is a great coach and never ever once heard anything negative about him coaching wise. You can believe yourself tho, we know how you love to do so, lol.

Yeah for instance... Lets see his achievements :

How many won the Norris ? 24-25 ? (out of these...more than half won the Norris more than once)
How many played over 1000 games ? apparently 279
How many won 1 Stanley cup as a coach ? since it's establishement in 1893 ? you guessed it... a mother load of 'em.
How many was NHL First All-Star Team ? You guessed it... way too many to count !

Iggy can always believe anyone's making a living out of hockey !
After all we live in a free country !

Hell... I'm sure gonna take the opinion of a scalper next time I need to know anything about it !

No surprise: You even believed Burke's lies for 4 years! If you believe Burkie you'll believe anybody!

Luckily for Leaf fans, that house of cards collapsed - no matter who runs the Leafs from now on (Nonis or whoever replaces him when he eventually gets canned) they HAVE to be better than Burke...and Carlyle HAS to be better than the hopeless Ron Wilson.

With Habs being on top of the eastern now...would it be weird if they don't make the playoffs ?

This would help Leafs' fans to feel less miserable after their team went from top to bottom last year !

You can bet... that's what they're praying for !

Not for the Leafs to make the playoffs but... for Habs not to make them.

They are used to Leafs not making them so...

Nothing new: the Leafs have been getting "ass whooped" for almost half a century now.

Just like the 'Dead Things', who were the league's joke throughout the 70's & the first half of the 80's.

The best news teams such as the Leafs, Habs & Bruins got this week was that the proposed (and likely) realignment of the league's teams will move Detroit to the East Conference. I predict that the next 5+ years in Detroit will be reminiscent of the 70's. Okay, maybe not as bad, since that would be impossible, but let's just say that the Stanley Cup years will be just a faint memory.

Yeah right,

If the 2007-08 season is a faint memory you'll need an archeological dig and radiocarbon dating just to rediscover 1966-67. Toronto is filling up with grandpas who need Wikipedia to know what a Stanley Cup is. Here's some help:

Boston-Bruins-Win-Stanley-Cup.jpg

And now we'll pause for a tirade by different, and emotionally damaged, Toronto fan...

wait for it, :D
