Say what you want about Carey (red light) Price, but one word that must be used about him is consistent, like tonight he was consistent once again for letting in his usual 4 goals (usually more so it was actually a good night for ole Red Light) per game in another scabs loss. He being the potential #1 goalie for Team Canada in Sochi gives new meaning to the words Oh Canada .... more like "Oh holy S**T! please Canada, Not Red Light"! :faint:

I do not get the decision to take Smith over Fluery, Bernier, or Crawford. The only way they can make changes now is because of injury. Can Price fake a pulled groin? :D

The real travesty in all of this is that Josh Harding wasn't selected to the team when he's clearly been the best goalie in the entire NHL all season long. The stats prove it. I was told recently that he likely wasn't picked because he has multiple sclerosis. If this is indeed the real reason for his snub, this is shocking! Why should he be discriminated against because of an illness? Clearly his illness hasn't hampered his performance on the ice this season.

Yes indeed that would be awful of steve-why and babcock to leave Harding off the team because of that.

Leafs fought back from down 4-1 to get a point and take over third spot in the East ahead of the hab-nots. On a tough 4 game trip this week the leafs got 5 out of a possible 8 points against the West so Yes i am very pleased, especially after showing character by rebounding the way they did tonight after the Dallas game a few nights back. Had Reimer come to play tonight it would of been another win but thems the breaks.

GLG!

You mean 4th in the East and don't forget the Leafs have played 54 games to most teams 50-52.

Have you seen your team play lately? They are small and are wearing down...you wont make the playoffs. If you start now, you have a little over 2 months to get used to that lovely idea aka what will become FACT I am not worried about the Leafs, not at all.

enjoy it while it lasts because it wont

Dion is one smart cookie! Why take a hit from a guy at 300lbs charging at you when you can side step the hit? No brainer but i am sure GHG would of took the hit. He would still be laying there 24 hours later or in the ER.
Can't blame a guy for avoiding a 6'5 290 lbs gorilla charging at you!

Considering many of the asinine comments he's made over the years, it's quite obvious that our buddy GHG DID in fact take several such hits in his lifetime.

Neither am i worried about the Leafs, who have been playing very well over their past 10 games. As for the habs, there are currently 8 teams (eight!!!) right behind them in the standings, within 5 (five!!) points of them. Toronto was the first team to pass them in the standings recently, and 10 days from now it's quite possible that all 8 teams currently trailing them will have passed them as well. I'm not exaggerating. The habs are a team in big, big trouble!!

I chuckle when i hear habs fans brag about the fact they're sending considerably more players to the Olympics than the Leafs.

First of all, who cares?

Second of all, considering all the Europeans that the habs have on their team, it's only natural that they'll send a lot of players to the Olympics than the Leafs, who don't have many Europeans on the team and the Leafs happen to be the team with the most Canadians. The habs will be sending two players to the Canadian team: Subban and Price. I'd be willing to be big money today that Steve Yzerman and his selection committee wouldn't pick them if they could go back in time. There are more deserving players that have been ignored. If Canada had a second team, there is no doubt in my mind that Jonathan Bernier and Dion Phaneuf would be on that team. But that's irrelevant.

I for one am overjoyed that the Leafs will send only two players to the Olympics. I'd rather have my players relaxing on a nice beach in Cabo and getting some much needed rest than burning themselves out at the Olympics (plus all the travellng, stress, etc). The Leafs will be rested when the 2nd half resumes, the Habs will be tired.

Right now, one theory for the Habs disastrous play are claims that they are tired. Tired?? Tired of what? They've played less games than many other teams and they're tired? Why aren't the other teams complaining of being tired? Oh yeah, because they're the smallest team in the NHL. That's why they're tired. Sure!!!!!!

Let me tell you something: If they're tired now, i can guarantee you that they'll be exausted when they return from Sochi. I guarantee it!
