Kyoto's earliest cherry blooms in 1,200 years point to climate change, says scientist.
I've been to Japan once. An interesting country. It seems to me that they will benefit from an increase in the climate towards warming. Although .. these people are indifferent to the weather as such. there is no cold if there is a warm spring near your house)) Of course, not everyone is so lucky, but ... I tried opening the water season by removing the awning from my backyard pool. It was 59F and the sun was shining brightly. I took out my Dolphin Premier and cleaned the pool in a couple of minutes. Then he ran up and dived)) And you know what? I hate the cold. Let everything go to hell and the weather will be like in Miami) I never want to close the pool for the winter.

The environmental consequences of oil production from Alberta’s tar sands are major, beginning with its effect on climate change.
North America’s transition to oil from the tar sands not only perpetuates, but actually worsens, emissions of greenhouse gas pollution from oil consumption.

While the end products from conventional oil and tar sands are the same (mostly transportation fuels), producing a barrel of synthetic crude oil from the tar sands releases up to three times more greenhouse gas pollution than conventional oil.
This is a result of the huge amount of energy (primarily from burning natural gas) required to generate the heat needed to extract bitumen from the tar sands and upgrade it into synthetic crude.
The energy equivalent of one barrel of oil is required to produce just three barrels of oil from the tar sands.

Look behind you.
Any article that calls the oilsands tar sands I dismiss as stupidity. We could shutdown the oilsands completely and all fossil fuel vehicles in Canada and it will not alter the climate one bit, but it would cost Canadians a fuck of a lot of money to do so. Those who preach this should not use any fossil fuels and live off the grid completely, see how that life is for you.

Also odd that for the top 10 worst cities for air quality in Canada Alberta has none while Quebec has 2.

Al least Alberta has no lithium mines

Look behind you.
Speaking of lithium mines, it takes 2 million liters of water to produce one ton of lithium.

Environmental damage is not just oil, too bad some are blinded by the media.

For those that are media challenged and do no research.

Mining and processing of lithium, however, turns out to be far more environmentally harmful than what turned out to be the unfounded issues with fracking. ... The lithium ion battery industry is expected to grow from 100 gigawatt hours of annual production in 2017 to almost 800 in 2027.

Even the polls show the general public does not like the climate policies.

Coastal areas of India's southern Kerala state faced ravaging pre-storm winds and heavy rains on Saturday.

The meteorological department issued a red alert in five districts of the state in the wake of cyclone Tauktae, including Alappuzha district.

Roofs of houses collapsed in the Pathirapally region of Alappuzha, leaving many people homeless, while some regions faced incessant rains and subsequent flooding in villages, prompting authorities to move villagers to higher terrain.

The storm is expected to intensify into a "severe cyclonic storm" by evening, the India Meteorological Department (IMD), and is likely to make landfall on the western coast of India on May 17.

That's exactly what India needed right now, as if covid wasn't enough of a disaster. Best of luck to everyone there.

The National Weather Service is warning that more rain is expected in Louisiana, Texas, Oklahoma and Arkansas through at least Thursday, adding to this week's flooding woes.

Downpours earlier this week swamped vehicles and closed a major interstate highway in southwest Louisiana, including the Lake Charles area.

It's an area still recovering from back-to-back hurricanes last fall and a deep freeze in February.
Twelve to 15 inches of rain fell in parts of Lake Charles in a 12-hour period Monday, the weather service said.

Everything is fine, it's not because the climate is changing o_O

Of the 30 storms, 12 hit U.S. shores, also a record number. The previous record was 9. The previous record was nine, set way back in 1916.

October and November were extremely active with seven storms and a whopping 4 major hurricanes.

In the U.S., Hanna, Laura and Zeta all rapidly intensified in the 24 hours prior to landfall.

A typical season sees only 12 storms.

The numbers cannot lie.

Climate zealots are jealous of what the pandemic did to civilized, affluent countries in the West so now they are dreaming about imposing "climate lockdowns":

Canada: heat up to 49.5 degrees, dozens of deaths in Vancouver

New historical record of temperatures on the Pacific coast

(ANSA) – VANCOUVER, June 29 – Canada set an extreme heat record yesterday, for the third consecutive day: 49.5 degrees were recorded in Lytton, a village northeast of Vancouver, in the midst of a wave of heat that would be at the origin of dozens of sudden deaths reported in the region in recent days.

“At 4:20 pm Lytton Station broke daily and historic temperature records once again,” tweeted Environment and Climate Change Canada (Eccc), the Canadian government department responsible for coordinating environmental policies and programs.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) and Vancouver City Police have separately announced that at least 134 people have died since Friday in the metropolitan area located on the Canadian Pacific coast, in a grip of heat that is also affecting the country. west of the United States.

US-Canada heatwave: Visual guide to the causes - BBC News

A clip from the article

Experts say climate change is expected to increase the frequency of such extreme weather events, such as heatwaves. However, linking any single event to global warming is complicated.

I see that this has caused some to make this political, no the right does not deny climate change as some put it. Some conservatives think that this will happen whether we spend trillions on climate change or not, some think that Canada is neither the cause or solution to climate change, what we do will not alter climate change but only make people have less disposable income.
