^ I think you are slightly confused here. People do discuss vaccines in this thread, but they are COVID-19 vaccines, TDS is being discussed elsewhere.

Look behind you.
Not just Republicans, a clip I found

Still, the hundreds of responses from Republicans and Democrats that did express these views highlight a growing divide among partisans about coronavirus-related restrictions and safety measures. In June, 77% of Democrats – compared with 45% of Republicans – said they were very or somewhat concerned that they might unknowingly spread COVID-19 to others. And nearly two-thirds of Democrats (64%) were very or somewhat concerned that they would personally get COVID-19 and require hospitalization, while just 35% of Republicans expressed the same concern. In the same survey, Democrats were about twice as likely as Republicans to say that people in their community should always wear a mask (63% vs. 29%).

At the same time, the Center has also found that majorities in both parties say they are making regular use of masks, even if some may be skeptical about their effectiveness. In August, 92% of Democrats and 76% of Republicans said that they had worn a mask or face covering when in stores or other businesses most or all of the time during the prior month.

It is obvious some can't walk and chew gum at the same time. It is very simple, repeat after me I T I S V E R Y S I M P L E. A lot of Trump's supporters a minority (after all they lost) but a bunch do not believe in this COVID pandemy. They gather, no mask, no social distancing and a lot will no get the vaccine for political ideological purposes. Even building a big beautifull, the most magnificent wall around USA... will not prevent americans coming back from countries with less access to the vaccines to bring back the virus. Unless people from outside USA also have access to the vaccines. If you don't get it, I give up!
Uhm, Pfizer, vaccine, etc. Seriously have no idea what your talking about. You will probably have a better time in the anti Trump threads. I'm talking about Pfizer and vaccines, not, well, whatever it is your talking about.

Merry Christmas

Where are these people? Trump carried my county for example and every place I go people are wearing masks at
The supermarket and big box stores. Are only the better informed Biden supporters going out? When I go down state I see everyone is wearing a mask. You can tell the Democrats. They’re the ones wearing a mask inside the car driving down the highway or out riding a bike wearing a mask...but they have the benefit of science. BTW, you can question the effectiveness of the mask while still wearing them.

I thought you would be interested in this story I found on MSN: Los Angeles restaurant owner calls out COVID lockdown hypocrisy http://a.msn.com/05/en-us/BB1bIclY?ocid=sms

This is about a California restaurant owner. The state shut dow their outdoor dining and yet a Hollywood shoot on location was allowed to set up catering adjacent to her patio. Science doesn’t back this. This is just arbitrary. Watch the video.

I heard today that the California restaurant owners got a temporary injunction from an LA judge to stop the party of science from enforcing this Non-Science based feel good measure.

let these sanctimonious assholes make decisions for you and this is what you get. An LA judge has said you need to do a cost benefit analysis. I don’t know of any data to support this.

What is not arbitrary, are the 2,000 reported deaths so far today in USA
What is not arbitrary is that Germany has 24 deaths by 100,000 residents
What is not arbitrary is that USA as 87 deaths by 100,000 residents
What is not arbitrary is that Trump who is actually doing nothing against COVID, mocks Germany for record day in deaths. He prefers to falsely claim being a victim and simply doesn't do his job as president. Peoples (81 millions) decided to fired him and adults will be in the WH soon. But lot of damages to fix.

Reporting news is ok, reporting important and meaningfull ones is much serious. Just a question of credibility...

All the medical experts are saying that outdoor dining does not present a significant risk so than why shut it down? Why not throw a virgin in a volcano?

Like it hot - is it OK that a movie company is allowed to film on location and set up an almost identical tent just a few feet from the restaurant that the government shutdown and cater food to the essential workers (actors on a set). And meanwhile the governor was caught dining with 6 other couples in the most expensive restaurant in Napa eating a free dinner $400/plate dinner that was paid for by the medical lobby of CA. That is fucking insane.

Honestly, it’s a lil different for Gavin. Everyone keeps goin on and on about him @ the birthday party @ the winery. Can we put it to rest finally. Gavin’s not the usual politician, has a different way of doing things.

Everybody should be treated equally. Shut all the outdoor dining or let them all be open. If people need to eat during a movie production they can bring lunch from home like many Americans do every day.

To hell with Hollywood and their so called art. Maybe they don’t need to be making this shitty sitcom right now? But the truth of the matter is that the Hollywood producer is friends of Gavin Newsom and the elite class. They can do what they want. The restaurant owner and all the people they employ and the patrons that they serve are no account to the elite class.

I certainly wouldn’t consider making a movie “essential”.

Here is something that is not arbitrary for you either
Deaths per million population.
USA = 894
UK = 919
Italy = 1022
Spain = 1005
Belgium = 1508
Peru = 1099
Quebec = 875

Fucking Trump must be responsible for all of this.
I wonder why nobody here in Quebec is bitching about Aruda and Legault or are they incapable of doing the simple math to figure out that our own back yard is just as bad, actually a week ago we were worse than the US who only caught up to us in the last couple of weeks.

This is good to remember. I used to say that people over 65 should be terrified because it kills 5% but the CDC said that it only killed 2500 healthy people in the USA over 65 that didn’t have some underlying condition. It kills the infirm. These are people we need to protect. The rest of us are most likely fine. The cure that is being prescribed is worse
than the disease.

How come you seem to be perfectly ok with what is happening in your own back yard.
You never complain about Legault or Aruda even when the numbers are almost identical to the US.
You don’t see anything wrong with that?

In NY we have our governor and mayor holding daily press conferences and our infection rate is still on the incline. The states around us, New Jersey and Connecticut are far worse and their constituents hear from them daily as well. We can blame Trump for screwing this up back in March, I wouldn’t, but I would understand why someone would. But, at this point other than adhering to the CDC guidelines what are Americans supposed to? It is what it is, we have to ride this out and get vaccinated when it’s approved.

Ok and all this nice talk what are the results.
A shit load of people dying, the same crap going on in CHSLD that was during the first wave.
So as long as they say things with emotion shed a few appropriate tears for the dying all is good.
The results of the leadership however are just as piss poor as in the US, yet all of you are busy blaming the big Orange and turn a blind eye to your own.
You can see relatives during Christamas, No wait you can’t do that. You can teach 30 kids in school who were wearing no masks for many weeks, you can be with teachers in the staff room, but if you invite one of those teachers to your home after you are liable to. a $1000 fine.
Give me a fucking break this is leadership for you.
