I live in NYC and our mayor has stated that 50% of the population or more will eventually contract the virus before a vaccine is developed or we reach herd immunity. Serious question: why wouldn't I just go ahead and contract it and get it over with. It just seems like everyone is panicking over the inevitable, which only exacerbates the problem. For example, Long Island has the second most infections in the country because its been inundated with NY-ers. Likewise, the Hamptons, which has nowhere near the resources to handle a breakout.

Is Canada's plan to maintain social distancing until the infections are manageable for the hospitals? Nobody in Canada really believes they can avoid this indefinitely, do they? The world is too interconnected. Today its NYC, tomorrow Toronto, right?

I’ll try to answer. Yes, maybe it is inevitable and 50% or more will get it. The question is when better to have it? At the beginning of the epidemic when the health system is overwhelmed and not real cure is available or on the later stage when you can be treated if things go wrong with convalescent plasma at the very least?
I am also thinking of the motivation why some girls continue to work to this very day. Maybe they have some similar wishes. As young females have good chances not to have any complications, they try to get over it ASAP. Get tested while sick and later advertise that they can’t be Corona carriers, so they will be in a very high demand.

Just do the math. 50% is 3 million new yorker? That would send 300 000 to hospital. Of which probably 200 000 will need ventilator. Mayor of new york asked for an extra 30 000 ventilator last week, he got 400.

That is the plan. That's what seems to be working for china, south-korea, japan and germany for now. We got an early start shutdown in Canada hopefully that will help us live through this like these countries.

... if you're out of work and not receiving EI (or in the process of applying for EI) you may qualify for the new, emergency CERB benefit of $2000 per month.

Knowing these girls for many that would make them go through an afternoon ;)

Latest studies show that once people have had covid19 and recovered ….they develop immunity. Nobody yet knows for how long though.

I'm a New Yawker and this subject has definitely come up. First of all, 50% of the NYC population is 4.3 million people. The WORLD has just under 500,000 total cases. So Bill DeBlasio, the NYC mayor, for whatever reason, is trying to cause an unnecessary panic.

Why not just contract covid19 it and get it over with? You don't know how your body will react to this, so first of all you can die. Secondly, if you catch it you can unknowingly spread it to someone else and they can die. Third, just because you've had it doesn't mean you can't catch it again. There is something to be said about the emotional feeling of just getting it over with. But getting it over with will only bring on a whole new set of problems. Catching this disease doesn't mean that all this madness goes away, quite the contrary, it will just be the beginning.

Where did you take the info about the 5000$? I read all the officials papers, especially the one on Revenu Canada, and see no mention of that. Only times I see a mention about "eligible if you did 5000$ in 2019" is someone that repeats it, on Twitter or else, and is never backed by official articles. Can you find me one?

Hi Hanna,

I know what you mean. Not official: I heard it yesterday on the CBC podcast "Front Burner": during the episode "In Brief: Who Qualifies for the Covid-19 Aid Package," around the 4 or 5 minute mark.

I'll look for something more authoritative and report back later on ....

Yes and I think that the bookers or owners of the agency are to be blamed. They are selfish and cheap, and have no regards for the girls safety. I have personaly decided that i will never work work with any agency that is still operating under this crises. My respect for vogue, euphoria, and esxort xo has skyrocketed.

Chaque cigarette a pris 2 heures…

Due to Coronavirus they enforced social distancing and shut down all non essential businesses including eating places of restaurants. Can someone explain since when the SAQ and LCBO is an essential business? Since when is alcohol is a necessity??

I guess if you took away alcohol people would be rioting in the streets. What I don’t understand is that landscapers are considered an essential business we had a mild winter here in NY, but if everyone is at home can’t they at least cut their own lawn?

Because grocery stores HAVE to remain open and if SAQ closes, people will simply go buy their alcohol at grocery stores/Costco instead

It is not a necessity for me, but for some they need the drug. I was standing near the liquor one time and about five people dashed in and grabbed one of the micky bottles withing 5 minutes. These are people that have to have something in their pockets all the time.

China 81,285 (3,287)

Italy has a population of 60 millions, VS 1400 millions for China

Don't believe China's numbers. Their death counts is in the hundreds of thousands
