With the same logic, only unvaccinated people older than 50 and people with co-morbidities should be taxed as they represent the vast majority of people hospitalized among unvaccinated. There is also much higher chance for a vaccinated 75 years old to end up in the hospital than the healthy unvaccinated 25 years old. So, the logic demands to exclude from taxation healthy unvaccinated 20-35 years old as they practically do not take any hospital beds. So, where is the logic for enforcement?

Le coût moyen pour traiter une grippe qui requiert une hospitalisation est de $5,000 soit4-5 fois moins. Pour un crise cardiaque, le coût moyen est de $7,000. Pour une pneumonie, le coût moyen est de $8,000. Oui, traiter la COVID représente un coût exorbitant. Oui la vaccination prévient plus de 80% des formes graves de COVID. Ici on ne parle que des coûts directs. Il faut aussi considérer que le personnel de soins est plus à risque et que de nombreux services normalement rendus à la population générale (cancers, orthopédie, dépistage, chirurgie) ne peuvent plus être donnés.

Cette mauvaise comédie a assez duré. La vaccination est disponible, accessible, gratuite et très efficace et tous les moyens doivent être mis en oeuvre pour que qu'un maximum de gens s'y conforme. L'attaque du porte-feuilles est un moyen très efficace pour atteindre cet objectif tel que démontré par la baisse importante du tabagisme, suite à l'imposition de taxes supplémentaires, il y a quelques années.

The same argument for public health and costs was made by Nazis when they started to euthanize psychiatric patients. They claimed why to spend large sums of public money for somebody who will never recover? This is a slippery slope to rely only on so called “rational” arguments. The democratic, free, humanistic society has its cost. I am sure every unvaccinated person has its own rational to risk his life and remain unvaccinated. Some have history of family disease and afraid that vaccine can trigger it (legitimate yet unproven), phobias (people irrationally afraid to death of many things) , religious, cultural reasons etc. As was said on this board, it is a way out for the government to find a scapegoat instead of admitting its own failure for preparing an adequate response for 2 years. The emergence of breakthrough variant was long expected and yet government did nothing to prepare for emergency and increase hospital capacity.

C’est du n’importe quoi cette comparaison avec le Tabac.

Fumer est un acte volontaire, rien ne t’oblige. De plus, les taxes sont en fonction de l’essentialité. Tout ce qui est essentiel n’est pas taxable contrairement aux produits non essentiels.

Le virus est contracté involontairement. C’est une maladie, pas un choix. Le Vaccin, n’est pas un destin, et son efficacité est questionnable. Ce n’est pas parce que toi tu es convaincu que c’est la vérité.

Avec ses actions, Legault a complètement piétiné la loi sure la liberté de choix. Il punit tout ce qui pense différemment. Je ne comprends toujours pas comment certain ne le voit pas.
