Authoritarian governments and anti-democracy political and media entities use fear and disinformation to control the people. We are more than 2 and a half years into the pandemic. The common sense public health measures used initially have been mitigated as we now have safe and effective vaccines and anti-viral therapy.

They are still trying their best to keep the fear going in an attempt to reinstate covid mandates. It is what they want to do except many people see this scam for what it is. How many people you see that are still wearing a mask? Not many.

Respectfully, I disagree. Nobody wants to reinstate the initial covid restrictions. We have vaccines and anti-virals now. Personally, I don't find wearing a mask in crowded indoor places especially onerous. That's my choice - not out of fear but rather an abundance of caution.

I don't get why you feel so unsecured. We just have to use common sense, now that most are vaccinated and almost everybody was contaminated by Omicron in the last year. Let's take care and respect the older people who are still at risk by wearing mask when we have symptoms. Simple as that. No need to imagine the worst. Geez… make sense now I didn’t know that Rimouski was in a dark purple zone. They should have put this criminal influencer in jail for attempted mass eradication. After the investigation, TVA Nouvelles found that he was not even coughing in his elbows when it was mandatory to do so.

The effectiveness of masks and guidance about wearing them evolved during the pandemic. That email was in early February, 2020 and was the consensus opinion at that time. Two months later the CDC recommended face coverings be used by the general population, and Fauci as head of NIAID started advocating for widespread mask use. When scientists stop evaluating and incorporating new information, they are no longer a scientist.

Also, Chinese do not trust their government and did not run to get the firs vaccine. Even the people 60 years and older were less than 20% to get vaccinated. China tries to make its own mRNA vaccine. The best thing would be that they get the occidental Pfizer-BioNtech vaccine and open their economy.

My post simply pointed out that China was in COVID lockdown with a link about the protests.
