and the gap keeps getting closer. Just a day ago it was 3.4 times more likely to be infected if you were unvaccinated and 15.9 times more likely to be hospitalized. So much for the pandemic of the unvaccinated only,

Here are two explanations

When Alberta was going through its challenges, they published numbers by vaccination status and age. It showed that if you were in the 70 y/o age group, your chances of hospitalization was 10x less if vaccinated. But if you were in the 30 y/o is was 25x less. So as the number of infections grows in the older age groups, the weighted average will vary. What we are probably seeing is more of the older group is getting infected, hence skewing the numbers. Is this due to the fact the older population was vaccinated longer ago , that they are simply more vulnerable, that the younger age groups are getting more vaccinated .....who knows.

The other explanation, preferred by the conspiracy theorists, (I mean critical thinkers) is that it's a ploy by the government to justify more injections.

Or simply more and more fully vaccinated people are being infected as these newer variants are more capable of eluding the vaccines and as time passes between doses.
I don’t like making up theories as I am neither a scientist nor a statistician and that is exactly why I like to wait until there is enough evidence and agreement before jumping to conclusions.
This is why questioning is important and looking at both sides of the coin without having blinders on.
The only thing so far which seems to be convincing thankfully is that the vaccines do work well in preventing serious illness and death and let’s hope that remains like that.

If you're not 85 years old with multiple comorbidities, you have nothing to worry about and have never had anything to worry about.
Now with Omicron it's even more harmless. It's now just the common cold, like the other four existing coronaviruses.
If you got the injections you might have to worry about that because the long-term effects of these jabs remains unknown.

When will it end?
When people stop dying or being admitted to hospitals being seriously ill.
You can’t be serious that wearing a mask or trying to keep your distance where possible is a monumental hardship.

And what if it does not? There was always peoples dying from Flu every year, we never made a fuss about it. Currently there is only 1 to 5 peoples dying daily from covid and i personally do not believe those are "unquestionable" stats. I mean im sure there is a part of it that is "died with covid, not from covid". And we are in flu season...

So what stats would justify the end? Why they keep counting cases like that? Lots of these new cases are children being declared positive after they mass test a school etc. Not peoples who got to be tested because they felt ill.

And yes the mask stuff is a monumental harship after almost 2 years. Im sorry but i could had understand for a few months but i do not want to live my life with this ... As i said before it may be "an inconveniance" only to put it on to buy a pack of beer at the store wich take about 5 to 10 mins, but in long periods its not possible for me to keep this on. And yesterday i was looking at upcoming shows for 2022 and was thinking "yeah probably won't be able to see them as their segregational passeport will likely still be in effect" but then i was also thinking do i want to go see a band with a mask on for 5 hours? Hell nah... At that point ill rather watch a live DVD home.

I said it before and ill said it again, at a point like lets say after this current winter, we need to END it all and start letting peoples assume the risks. If i go to a show as unvaccinated, do not wear a mask or whatever, its my decision and if i get ill or die, its my problem. And don't tell me this BS that i could infect and kill others, as if they got vaccinated they are protected, and if they didn't, well like me they assumed the risk.

Tell that to the 85 percent of people hospitalized who are under 80 years old.

HM,
Yep you are back to the flu again.
270 million people did not get the flu and 5,300,000 people didn’t die of the flu.
The flu did not destroy the worlds economy so please stop with this ridiculous comparison.
Personally I don’t really care what you do and if you get vaccinated or not, your choice, but just like you were ready to lock up the old and vulnerable in the beginning so you could enjoy life to the fullest, I have no problems with you being restricted to restaurants etc without a vaccine passport.
Karma is a bitch isn’t it.

Lets be clear, it was the government NOT covid that destroyed the economy then they come to the rescue with government social benefits funded by taxpayers and say if it were not for us you would be in big shit. In essence they break your legs then give you crutches and claim to have helped you.

Why is this bullshit, precautions and obligation to get treated or isolated apply to other diseases such as tuberculosis, polio, diphtheria, etc.. why is caring about others such a problem for you?

Now we are splitting hairs.
It was governments throughout the world reacting to Covid in most cases ineffectively as they have never faced anything like this.
No other virus has caused this kind of havoc throughout the world in many decades, none killed close to 51/2 million people and if governments didn’t react they would have been crucified.
Do I agree with everything they have done of course not I don’t think anybody does.
If anything it did create a system of manufacturing and distributing and bringing new and effective vaccines to market much better and faster than ever before.

I never seen a vaccine that allows a 12 year olds consent supersede their parents consent. I never seen a vaccine used for political gain. I never seen a vaccine threaten someone's livelihood, as well as wipe out the frontline hero's jobs with termination.
You know there were far more deadly viruses then covid. The Black Plague, Smallpox, and the Spanish Flu. These were responsible with far more deaths and had a much higher mortality. Yet much less damage was suffered given the mortality of those viruses compared to covid and the reason is way too much government protection and interference. Covid is nothing compared to these other diseases. The Black Plague eliminated almost 70% of the European population. Problem is the government that is making it a big deal and a big problem out of something that is not so big. We get bombarded by government funded ads 24/7 about vaccines and covid. All they talk about is covid and keep reminding you how it is a pandemic. You are right we never faced this before but I mean we never faced so much government interference and this whole covid thing is so political.

Yes and when were they.
Was media capable of sensationalizing it and whipping people into a panic and frenzy like today.
Was the population of the world anywhere near as capable of spreading it throughout the world and as quickly as today.
Governments had no other choice but to react and still do otherwise they would be crucified.
I not only blame government but the media they are the cause of panic now days not just for Covid but for most things today.
Fake news and even factual news today creates panic within hours of anything happening.
Governments are forced to react almost instantly by the media panic driven people.

Of course. The media is as much responsible but remember that media is subsidized by the government. They will always spread government propaganda. So in essence the media is being used as a tool by the government, they create fear then the government comes to the rescue with lockdowns and restrictions. The media keeps reporting facts in a way to cause fear and they always sensationalize the data. And one last thing, before there was no United Nations. The UN is the root of all problems. They are spreading their Globalist Socialist agenda.

Without the media, yes there would be less panic, but unfortunately many more deaths.

And without the media pushing for immunization, our % immunization would be much lower.

People are sheep.
