Does anyone have any experience with Virgin TV? Do you recommend it? I am on the South Shore and currently using Videotron.
I have it since more than a year. I stream with a firestick in basement and chromecast with an ethernet cable adapter in kitchen. More reliable than I thought and don’t need these converter anymore. My bill got down from 160$ with Vidéotron to 80$… Now you know this is a no brainer décision…

The decision to cut the cord and stream is now much more complicated than it once was, as confusion now reigns over which streaming packages gives you the most bang for your entertainment dollar. Add to that confusion that the streaming providers are now attacking each other in Court, with Fubo's lawsuit against ESPN/FOX/WBD and their new sports app a possible highlight of some of the anti-competitive behavior going on out there:

Great article EB. Speaking of sports. Living in the NYC area I’ve noticed only one streaming service that offers the Yankee/Yes network And that’s Direct TV Stream. If it wasn’t for that, I’d have a much more competitively priced streaming service. Fubo used to carry them. I wish there were better options for sports.

With a little research ( yes YouTube ) you too can CUT the cord. I was paying bell $91.00/month +tax and now pay $29/ every three months so $10/month no tax for a streaming service that gives me 25,000 + live channels and 150,000 + movies, ESPN, more than a dozen TSN channels, yes NHL network. Add to this the fact that I also have to pay for a VPN $2.49/month and all in all I pay about $79.oo/month less with much more entertainment. My VPN allows me to access live channels anywhere in the world depending on the country server I choose to use. I had access to EVERY tennis match at the Australian Open and not just the ones TSN decided they would allow me to watch. Bonus, they were broadcast from Australian T V so I didn't have to listen to the know it all John McEnroe. I kept some of my subscriptions like Netflix but NEVER get an ad and do not pay for the ad free service as I will set my VPN to the US and I get the feed from there . Further when I watch the super bowl no Canadian ads as I will be watching from a U.S. channel getting the Super Bowl ads. I use a Firestick 4K but there are plenty of devices out there, I decided that this was the cheapest in terms of upfront cost and they perform amazingly. You need a device, a VPN (I use Surf Shark), and a IPTV portal I subscribe for three months at a time in the event that the portal gets shut down , this way the most it would cost me is $30. To be clear, if you were to put up an antenna in your yard most of the channels we have on Fibe or Videotron are free over the air what the VPN gives you is an antenna in any city you wish all around the world. Rest assured that all the local channels now available in Montreal are also available, and there are a list of French channels as well. Sorry for being long winded but it's a little daunting for someone getting into this at the beginning. There is an illegal side to this as well but I don't go down that road. I pay for Netflix, Paramount+ and Prime video but these can be cracked as well, I don't want to open myself up to legal problems to save a few bucks but if its free and legal, I'm in .
