From 2019 Wikipedia St-Louis Blues won the cup when being 32nd in January :
That was the fluke of flukes if you ask me. Those last 2-3 months of the regular season & their playoffs run were what made Binnington & Craig Berube’s reputation. Were it not for that one magical & totally unexpected season Binnington would likely not be a top candidate to play for Team Canada in the upcoming Four Nations Cup & i doubt Craig Berube would be coaching the Maple Leafs today.

Trust you on this... I was abroad at the time! So besides the fact that I was watching from afar, my point was just about how things can turn around... Hope!

I agree but management needs to be willing to act in order to want to turn things around but the Gorton-Hughes regime is likely to stay put. They appear to be totally satisfied with how things are going. The reason? Job security. Would they feel that their jobs are on the line depending on how the team performs i have no doubt that they’d start to make changes pronto were it by changing coaches, making trades or order the coach to start benching underperforming players & replace them with hungrier & grittier players from the farm. Sorry but there will be no quick turnaround in Mtl this season. The team is doomed to suck once again until at least next season. No wonder several of the veterans are starting to get exasperated.

You know, sometimes it’s not always a good thing to have an owner that’s too nice.

These are wild statements I’m seeing here, you clearly have no clue how to build a winning franchise in the world of sports. There is absolutely no point of having a trigger happy mentality and firing everybody or whatever after a losing streak in the middle of a rebuild.
It’s fine if you don’t care about the team and you just want chaos, however if you want to build a winning franchise job security is essential.
