J'ai switché aux SENS à 4-0.....un peu mieux MAIS pas tant...lol...4ème défaite consécutive...une équipe jeune /pleine de promesses....MAIS qui s'éteint tranquillement avec une défensive absolument défaillante.
This morning a buddy of mine who’s a Sens fan called me in a panic “What the hell is wrong with my Senators? I think they may end up missing the playoffs again!”

I told him it’s the same problems as in the past. A young defence that all plays the same way. Offence first. Not enough veterans on the team other than Giroux & Perron. Below-average goaltending. No third & fourth lines. I added that they have away the only defences that i liked last season (Jacob Chychrun).

Well, maybe they’re suffering from the Maple Leaf’s syndrome! :p
What do you mean? The Leafs are once again among the top teams in hockey & looking at winning the conference this season. Watching the Leafs during the regular season has become boring since they’re expected to win every game & every season are already in the playoffs even before the season as started.

By the way…did anyone enjoy watching McDavid & the Oilers massacre the Rangers last night in Edmonton ? Wow!

Nah, there’s only that much time I can spend watching sports or anything else. I have to choose carefully, and watching the Habs hasn’t been very enjoyable lately! Lol

I made a quick evaluation and the Golden Knights players weight on average 20 pounds more than those of the Habs !
This doesn't have to be the case- a professional hockey team has the ability to choose what players to roster through the draft and free agency processes. You don't have to have a roster 20 pounds less on average than other NHL teams.

NHL teams also have the ability to both feed and strength and weight train their players. The Habs are not restricted from doing so to my knowledge.

I figured the Habs would have done much better this year, had a higher expectation of Mountembeault.
Monty is pretty much what i expected. I never considered him to be a bonafide #1. I’ve mostly seen him as a solid #2 who’s better sharing the net with a veteran #1 goaltender.

I hate to say this but the biggest problem with the team is the inexperienced coaching staff. The habs should not be a kindergarten for inexperienced coaches who want to learn how to coach in professional hockey. Looking at the habs there is no accountability for poor uninspired play & there is zero fear on the part of the players. What this need needs is a tough asshole type as coach. A type who doesn’t take any bullshit & if you don’t put in the effort & play well then you don’t get to play & we’ll find somebody else who wants to play. A John Tortorella type. A Ken Hitchcock type. A badass!

It’s not as if the Habs are small! Lol, they actually rank #5 at 204 lbs average. The problem is that their young big players seriously lack grit, and a few veterans could surely play a bit harder, like Anderson and Armia for instance.
Anderson, Armia, Dach & Slafkovski come to mind. Big players who don’t take advantage of their size.

These guys don’t survive in the league anymore, watch Tort go, he is closer to the door than he is to fame. I don’t think Brière will let him take his players down in the media very long.
I’ll be shocked if Torts is replaced this season. Briere loves him. He loves the fact he holds players accountable unlike MSL. Torts has his own style & he does it for the good of the players. He shouldn’t be confused with Mike Babcock, who is simply a very mean, manipulative asshole!

Hearing that the Bruins were offering three years max to keep Monty & he balked at their offer knowing fully well what hos market value was out there & stuck to his guns with his demand for a five-year contract. It’s also fairly known among insiders that Monty was expecting to get fired if the Bruins blew the series against the Leafs last season. As we know the Leafs came back from being down 3-1 and tied the series to only lose in overtime in game 7. After blowing a 3-1 lead to Florida in the previous opening series of the playoffs Bruims management weren’t going put up with it two years in a row. When the Bruins finally beat the Leafs St-Louis removed the interim title & signed Bannister. Had the Bruins lost to Toronto people close to the Blues say Doug Armstrong would have been on the phone with Monty the minute he got fired.

Torts intentions are always good, and I believe he’s still a good coach. That being said, he often ends up publicly pointing fingers at some players and that, rarely ends up well. Although if the Flyers manage to keep their head above the.500 mark, his boss will probably be more patient. And, to tell the truth, I still find his cockiness with the media very entertaining!

Yeah, for now, Brière loves him, until he doesn’t anymore! How many times have we heard some GM stating they have full trust in their coaches only to see the coach getting fired the next week?
