Speaking of the Sens, what the hell went wrong with that team? Was it the Kyle Turris trade? It's basically the same thing as last year but it's a team void of any energy & drive. They were just going through the motions last night & got terribly outplayed by the Leafs. This is a team that seems to have completely tuned out their coach and are just going through the motions to play out the final couple of months of the season. Most of the players seem like they'd welcome a trade to any other team in the league & this includes Erik Karlsson.

Guy Boucher has once again shown that he's a one-year wonder. Players quickly tune out to his constant screaming. He reminds me of many other coaches who performed very well in their first season or two & then were disasters. Patrick Roy is one name that comes to mind. Michel Therrien is another. John Tortorella comes to mind. Bob Hartley. But the king of one-year wonders is none other than "Iron" Mike Keenan.
Another loss... 8th shutout this year for the habs...

I don't ever remember a time when the habs season was literally over so early into the season. Players like Pacioretty and Price seemed to have mailed it in. Galchenyuk is invisible half the time. Drouin seems to always be invisible. The only players that still seem to care are the likes of Gallagher, Hudon, Delauriers, Byron & Carr. Seriously, i think the habs would have trouble beating the US Women's Olympic hockey team right now!

Well said...et le pire est que Julien est au bout du rouleau.....ne sait plus quoi dire et quoi faire pour fouetter sa troupe....pathétique.....ca doit être tout un calvaire pour lui de se présenter devant les médias défaite après défaite.....ce sont les joueurs qui devraient venir expliquer leur manque d'implication et d'effort.....
Carey Price is on his way to having the worst season of his entire career. The enormous contract Bergevin granted him during the off-season hasn't even started to kick in yet. And once it does it'll be for another 8 years. Think about this.
On another note, a good friend of mine who absolutely hates the Habs called me the other day and told me how awful the Habs were. He asked me what the hell was wrong with Carey Price. I replied that he's getting older, has had to deal with major knee injuries which has possibly slowed him down and that fatherhood causes someone to change their entire perspection of life and changes your daily normal routine & affects focus.
My buddy mentioned that the Habs must absolutely undergo a major rebuild if they ever want to get competitive again. I agreed with him. But i added that in order to do this they must absolutely try to trade Carey Price now before his new contract starts to kick in. He agreed with me fully. They aren't going anywhere right now with Carey Price and he'd be their top bargaining chip and would help fetch all those prospects, draft picks and young players crucial in a major rebuild. His upcoming contract will also be a major cap-killer. My friend again agreed with me.
But one thing my friend said before he hung up made me smile approvingly: "Personally i'd prefer they hang onto Carey Price since my wish is to see the Habs continue sucking for years and decades to come and this will only happen if they are stuck with Price & his upcoming astronomical contract." I laughed and agreed with everything he said. :thumb:

As I have said many times already the Habs need to blow it up and commit to an all out tank. This will require a few painful years of awful teams in order to secure top draft choices with which a MEANINGFUL rebuild can happen. The argument that local fans and media will not accept an uncompetitive team for a few years must be swept aside. They already have an uncompetitive team and it’s the only proven method for an effective rebuild. It’s been done elsewhere and it’s being done on a massive scale right now in MLB as many teams are freezing out older free agents in order to sacrifice competitiveness in favor of a massive rebuild and control over younger and cheaper players.
Look at what Vegas has done with castoffs and young draft picks. If they can do that in one year I believe Montreal can suck for 2-3 years and then through a few good draft picks and trades for young players who aren’t wanted elsewhere (e.g. like Drouin although hopefully better player/attitude) build a strong young core of players who can grow together. If possible Habs can try to lure Gallant away from Vegas when his contract is done, he is a proven coach of young talent in rebuilds/builds.

Gallant doesn't have a chance in hell of ever coaching in Montreal. He doesn't speak french, which is an absolute 'must' in Montreal. That's why so many others were bypassed whenever the Montreal head coaching job came up.
By the way i agree with everything else you wrote in regards to the Habs needing to blow it all up. It has to start with the trading of the overrated and soon-to-be overpaid Carey Price.
They can put in Gallant’s contract that he has to learn French, and hire Gaby or Tiga as his or tutor. I am sure that Gallant will not have a problem with such contractual provision if the monetary offer is generous. Alternatively, they can just loosen up a little and hire a real good unilingual Anglophone coach and tell him, hey man, we will give you a French speaking personal assistant and he will serve as your mouthpiece at your press conferences. Sort of like a full time translator, maybe someone like Guy Carbonneau if he needs a job. Either way problem solved. Gallant is the guy to bring in after a roster implosion, and nobody else in the NHL is gonna be bashful about hiring the guy so figure out a way to solve the problem. I just listed two ways.

Hey....séquence parfaite...4 défaites en ligne sur la route....pire fiche de la ligue pour défaites a l'extérieur ....btw how about Giroux....il n'est pas flamboyant mais combien efficace et utile....depuis la saison 2010-11 il est le 4ème meilleur compteur.....avec Voracek tout un duo!!!

Shea Webber has a torn ligament in his foot and will undergo surgery, meaning his season is over.
Carey Price is now out for an undetermined period with concussion symptoms. Is this true?? What's strange is that usually the team comes out & only states 'upper body' injury.
That's their two highest paid players and they're not even playing. Sad.
