Obviously if I am posting on MERB I like to hobby. And if I like to be able to have better chances of seeing the girls on my to do list I should visit Montreal when there are not major events happening. Avoid times like the Jazz Fest, F1, when the habs are playing or other major events at Bell Centre and probably all summer. But not too long ago I saw a post about spring break, and it being busy there. Being from Florida, I thought Spring Break meant going somewhere warm. I guess I was mistaken. And I remember Kitana saying it was always busy there. But are there other times to avoid the masses going to Montreal? Wintertime means skiing, spring is graduation, summer is summer, and fall is beautiful. Any time better than others, I guess, is what I'm asking. I've tried doing a search on good times to visit and keep getting page cannot be displayed. Thanks.

As long as you book your hotels in advance, there's never really a bad time to come here. The jazz fest is an amazing experience. The skiing is terrific. I'm willing to bet it will still be going strong, long after spring break this year. It all depends on what you want to do. Be honest. Even if you're 18-19 yrs old, you can't hobby 24/7. Check the usual tourist web sites, figure out what you want to see or do (besides that!), and post questions here. Somebody is sure to help you out.

Unless it means that much to you, you might as well stay away during Gran Prix in June. The hotels will be terribly expensive, if they have any availability at all.
There *might* be some fluctuations in the air/hotel rates due to American or Canadian holidays (particularly holiday weekends in the summer).
The summer is do-able, but the hotels will be a tad more expensive. Figure an extra $20/night on PL, $50/night direct. It's the "high season."

Where do you ski at, how far is it from Montreal and do they allow snowboarding? Also is it as good as say Lake Tahoe skiing?
There's skiing all over the province. North of Montreal you've got Mt Tremblant and St Saveur as two of the better known. There's also good skiing in the Eastern Townships. I'm not a ski buff, but boarding is allowed as far as I know. Check the tourist websites for more info. They should have links to the various hills/resorts.

Thanks guys! I have a $200 credit with Air Canada that I have to use sometime this year and I normally go on a Snowboarding trip somewhere...... maybe I will comeback next season & bring my board too!
