all-star ballating as of June 22nd. 7 royals so far. I am kind of glad because finally the commissoner will have to get involved and make changes to a terribly flawed system. I think that the royals have several players that are worthey of starting.

Washington Nationals Ace Max Scherzer missed a perfect game against the Pittsburgh Pirates by 1 hit batter, but preserved his no hitter after pitching a 1 hitter against the Milwaukee Brewers his last outing. Scherzer has allowed 1 hit in his last 18 innings, struck out 26 in his last 18 innings. He has a 11 inning no hit streak going. Scherzer is 8-5, 1.76 ERA. His next appearance is next Friday against the Philadelphia Phillies in Philadelphia.

Just back from a nice long Merb vacation and catching up on some things. I need to say this...The way Scherzer lost that perfect game was absolutely infuriating. 2 outs, 2 strikes and that piece of shit Pittsburgh Pirate, Jose Tabata, LEANS into a pitch and gets hit so he can break up the perfect game. Complete fucken bush league move and the umpire is just as bad and to blame for awarding him first base and not calling it a ball as he should have!!

I'm trying to find a decent link of the pitch to post but my computer's not cooperating. Maybe later.

It looked like Tabata lowered his elbow and got hit by the pitch. The pitch was inside, but Tabata really didn't make an effort to get out of the way, as he is required to if he can (which he could have). I wonder if the Nationals could have appealed that call and have MLB Video umps make the call? They never did. It was clear that the home plate ump did not see the pitch. He looked over to Tabata for confirmation that he got hit and Tabata seems to shake his head affirmatively. Sad to see a perfect game bid end that way with the last batter up.

That was excrutiating.

This reminds me of the time Justin Verlander and the Tigers faced off against Jared Weaver and the LA Angels 4 years ago. JV and Jared were the 1 and 2 pitchers in the AL. JV had a no-hitter going lated into the 8th inning and the Angels tried to break it up with a bunt. The no hitter would of put JV in an elite group joining only Feller, Kaufax, and Nolan Ryan to throw 3-no hitters since 1900. Jarad Weaver acted like a 2-year old that day after Ordonez hit a HR and later and Weaver thought he wasn't running fast enough. A few innings later and after getting 12 straight Tigers out, Weaver served up another HR ball but this time to Ordonez's best friend Carlos Guillian who stood there and stared the baby down saying "get a haircut or something like this in Spanish. Next batter was Alex Avila and he was put down in the dirt by Weaver and Weaver was ejected after a temper tantrum. I was vacationing at the lake and I listened to the ball game on the radio. It was the Best game I didn't see. Ahh I miss the days when JV could pitch.

I remember Jerry Hairston breaking up Milt Wilcoxes perfect game in the 80's with a 2 out single. I also remember Andea Galaraga's Perfect game ruined by umpire Jim Joyce the fuck-head.

Well, that rookie sensation that the Red Sox fans were bragging about eh hem cough cough, has had his second outing where he got completely tagged as the Orioles blasted the Red Sox, 8 to 6. and E. Rodriguez for 6 ER. He had 0 strikeouts in 3 2/3 innings.

PITCHERS IP H R ER BB SO HR ERA
Rodriguez L (3-2) 3.2 7 6 6 0 5 1 4.33

Rodriguez got tagged for 9 ER against the Blue Jays 11 days ago when the Jays won 13 to 9. In the 4 2/3 innings Rodriguez pitched he had 1 K.

To be fair to Rodriguez and be honest in reporting, he had a good outing in between the 2 blowouts. He gave up 1 ER in 6 1/3 as he led the Red Sox over the KC Royals 7 to 3.

But welcome to the Big Leagues, as they say. Every game is different. I would not call him Cy Young Jr., not at this point of his career.

The NYY had a hard time against Houston Astros' ace Dallas Keuchel, as Keuchell pitched a complete game allowed 6 hits and fanned 12 in Houston's 4-0 win over the Yanks. Keuchel is 9-3, 2.17 ERA and a WHIP of 0.96. Those are all star numbers. Jose Altuve was 3 for 4 and 2 stolen bases. Houston is like KC Royals. They are a good small ball team. I think they have a good chance of winning the AL West.

I understand that reading box scores might be a bit difficult for the senile but DD where on earth did you get the stat that says 0 K's by E.Rod today? Please do point out to me his 0 strikeouts. LOL.

Now, how did your phenom PINEda perform the other day, I think he gave up...what...8 EARNED RUNS in 3.1 innings and it was HE who had ZERO K's in his outing. Yes, that was followed by another stellar outing by Cheeseburger and increasing his decrepit 5.65 ERA...Hahahaha. All this coming against the extremely light hitting Phil. Phillies!! Wow. Top that off with being SHUTOUT tonight by the Astros. No worries, it won't be long before the B0mbers are well down in the standings fighting for last with the O's come October ;)

Lastly...Sure seems like DD has more time to catch up on and obsess about the Sox every day, than on his own team. Hello Pot, this is Kettle, you're black!!!

Sox fans,

I'm sure it's not his fault, DayDisturber could not see through the thick Koolaid brand glasses.

I'm not too worried about E-Rod. In all the games where he gets past that 4th inning he's very solid, and the previous game where he had only one bad inning was caused largely by errors that kept it going.

BTW: did you know Sabathia is leading the league in ERs allowed (55) and Home Runs given up (17), and only for $23 million per year. i might have sworn the second stat belonged to Porcello, but damn, Sabathia showed me I'm very wrong. Thanks CC.

No, K, that Kettle stuff belongs to your friend Merlow, who remains very unplugged. And you sound not far from him.

Ok. E-rod had 5 Ks last night, but 6 ER's still bad. Both of you were going on like he's the next Juan Marachal or Fernando Valenzuela or something.

Is that the new measurement for E-rod? If he gets past the 4th inning.

And notice I talk about lots of teams all of the time, not just the Yankees or Red Sox, where you 2 talk mostly about the Yankees and some about the Red Sox (I understand, it's tough talking about a team that's the worst team in the American League and saying you're a fan of theirs). Whose is black? You K, and Merlow, that's for sure.

Haha, Merlow, nice try. Porcello is a much younger guy with a lot more time on his contract than Sabathia. Enjoy Porcello and those blow outs against the Sox for a long time to come.

In fairness MISTER .T, that article is old. For example it reads:

Instead, they're 22-28, four games off the pace in the weaker-than-ever AL East. They have won three straight games only once -- and not since April 9-11. More alarming, they have been outscored by 47 runs, second-worst in the American League behind only the Chicago White Sox, who have a minus-48 run differential.

In reality, the rouge hosers are currently 34-43 and 7.5 games off the pace in dead last place in the AL East. OOPS!

I guess 200 million doesn't buy you much these days, embarrassing, scathing article on the current state of the Red Sox by Scott Lauber from the Boston Herald-

The struggling Red Sox helped the fate of the Jays and Yankees today by surprising Chris Archer and the Rays, defeating them for the 2nd time in three days.

Well done, Sox! :thumb:

p.s. I've heard whispers that Andrew Miller may be heading for Tommy John. Any truth?

I've heard whispers that Dellin Betances is way better than Andrew Miller, any truth?, also I'm hearing absolutely nasty rumors of Johnny Cueto heading over to the Yanks or maybe even the Jays.:thumb:

Betances is also very good, as good as Miller in my book. But Miller's more potent because he's a southpay. The Yankees are okay with Betances as their closer, but the rest of the bullpen sucks monkey balls.

I've also heard about Cueto interesting the Jays. They're still looking for a starter and a closer, so anything's possible. But they do know they'll have to pay a hefty price in order to get a quality arm and they're still not sure they're willing to give other teams what they want.

You might want to check out the stats of a fellow by the name of Chasen Shreve who is one of the top bullpen arms in the game so far this season

Here, let me help you MISTER Holliday :D

http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/s/shrevch01.shtml

PS. SK, i remember you asking a month or two ago who the heck is Chasen Shreve, you also have your answer in the link above ;)
