Should the legal age for SPs be increased to 21 years old?

What is the point of this thread?

I do not see the point of the whole thread. The legal age for being major is 18. Can anybody regulate the sex industry? Who will force an agency owner to only hire 21 and above SPs? Doesn't make sense.....

I oppose underage sex, 17 and below. There must be a cutoff somewhere and 18 is majority. If a John does not agree with SPs between 18 and 20, well, simply go to older and more experienced SPs, that's it.

With all due respects Maxima, I think GG is doing a very commendable job of acting "as a bully". In fact every time he attempts to get back at someone he exposes himself more and more.

General...do you like what this thread is becoming? It is practically a referendum on your behavior. Was that your goal? This was a useful thread. You got some very good contributions, especially from Traveller_76, which you were damn fortunate to get because she made one the most provocative and vital contributions in merb history. But you are pissing away the potential of this thread with your anger and spitefulness. Oh you aren't the only one: that's certain. But as I indicated before, you started this thread and as its' originator you have the duty to guide its' direction responsibly and respectfully. At this point, you need to change drastically or you need to take a good break from merb until you can set your mind in a much more positive direction. Right now you are risking the permanent antipathy of too many people for even you, tough guy, to deal with. Think about it.

Let's stick to some facts. In the past year, I have put up some of the most thought provoking threads on Merb.

I can see senior posters going out of their way to respond to threads or posts if they feel a need to add their comments. What im having a hard time understanding is why your trying so hard to post thought provoking threads (and wanting credit for posting thought provoking threads).

Ok everyone lets not turn this into an 'I love Ziggy' thread please.

I thought the original idea behind this thread, and the reason I posted in the beginning was to find a way to prevent underage girls entering the business, as was suspected with the lady this thread was originally about. That is why I found the idea of increasing the age for sexworkers to 21 an interesting proposal. Differentiating between 16 and 18 can be quite difficult. Between 16 and 21 much less so. This thread has since gotten so far off track it isn't funny. The thread has hit 14 pages and most of the posts have nothing to do with the subject, it's become a thread about GG. Maybe it should just be closed.

A confident, self-assured person would not feel the need to riddle his posts with this "look at me, I'm moral, decent, honest and a gentleman" attitude, and with constantly trying to prove that they are better than everybody else. Sorry but one doesn't need a PhD in psychology to figure out that this behavior screams of deep rooted angst, guilt, insecurities, and search for validation. Honestly, I'm not trying to be mean or anything and maybe it's a subconscious thing and you don't even realize that such a pattern exists in your posting, but it is rather obvious, and apparently not only to me.

Did I write glowing things of certain young ladies? You bet I did. So what? It doesn't change my views here nor did I ever say that young SPs are to be categorically avoided. I just said that older ones are better prepared to deal with certain aspects of SPing.
