Not recent but one time a few years ago I got held up in customs interrogation for several hours and got blasted with a ton of questions lol. I honestly thought I wouldn't get out of it lol
The experience was not fun at all, to put it mildly.
I never understood how they can ask questions for hours. I mean 10-15 minutes should be enough to ask "why are you going in Canada, when you intend to leave" and other normal questions. What did they asked you about during all these hours?
Anyway, just wanted to say (as the title of the thread is about shutdowns) that i hope shutdowns are definately OVER. At this point the only possible reason to have even partial shutdowns would be to "save the health care system" but im tired of this excuse, its time they fix it instead of having to "save it forever". Peoples have acces to vaccines, so whoever want it can get it, and if they don't to, fine, its their choice, anyway its to protect YOU against the severe form, not the spread/catch. And the vast majority of peoples who get it have cold symptoms. Its kinda insane that the biggest issue currently is not the covid patients themselves, its health care workers catching it and having to be off work lol. I mean, technically even for a cold an health care workers should be working, as there is vulnerable peoples, so how come this is so different?
The truth is its time to live our lives WITH the virus. If some peoples are immuno supressed and/or very at risk due to whatever reasons, its sad to say but they should maybe invest (or have governement help on this) in a very high quality respiratory mask, the kind you see in movies when the air is not breathable. I mean, there is surely filters that would filter (filte qui filtrerais...) covid particules. Otherwise i don't know what to say. We ain't gotta keep everyone masked forever... it would mean no sense. If someone is sick, yes ok they could use a mask, or if you are very at risk and want to keep your mask in very crowded area (public transport etc) FINE, but this whole mask mandate everywhere need to go. I doubt it will May 1st but June 1st should be the very stretched limit. When summer arrive and the current "wave" wash off. Summer SHOULD be slower when it comes to covid, so its the time. Now what to do in fall? Should they come back late October til Early March? I hope not but it would at least make a little more sense. Maybe in public transport...
But this whole crazyness of having to put a mask on to enter a convenient store with 1 or 2 peoples in, that need to stop.
