For the Leafs a lot of the same questions- outshooting opponents 49-21, but losing 4-1, raises lot of questions about the defense, goaltending and offensive efficiency. I don’t think they will get past the more seasoned Washington or TB in the playoffs. They have a team that is close but no cigar kind of team. Sort of like NY Yankees in baseball last year with their pitching staff. Close but not good enough.

WOW......what's going on with OVI...another hat trick last night----26-27-28....on his way for 60 goals this season...:yo:...Caps were losing 4-1 and they cameback to win 6-5 in s/o.....OVI has point in 13 straight games. AHO 2 goals 2 assists.
McDavid another 2 goals evening....EDM is now 8-1-1 in their last 10 games....they are third in Pacific Division....what a move....it seems Hitckcock was the answer.....am happy for them..

Actually Ovechkin pace of 28 goals in 31 games translates into 74 goals at current pace, which would be his most since 65 in 07-08 season.
Hitchcock needs around 70 wins to catch Quenneville for #2. Lot of work to do. He took this job knowing it was his best chance to pour it on for one last push for #2 at age 66.

The habs are a bad team. More exciting to watch than in past years but still a bad team who'll only win games when their overpaid $10.5 million/year goalie stands on his head. Still a team struggling to score goals. Worse power play in professional hockey. Power play?? What power play??
You need to score goals and have an effective power play in order to win in today's hockey. There's no way this team makes the playoffs!
Lightning have a 12 game point streak......11-0-1. Kucherov 5 points last night has him at #2 in NHL in scoring behind Rantanen. Meanwhile Mitch Marner has now snuck into the top 5 and is at #5 in the league in scoring.

I watched some of Switzerland/Russia at the Junior world cup yesterday. First time I see this a Russian player got 2 penalty on the same play!! Both were penalty shots. He stick a player down once... delayed penalty because the player still had the puck. He got himself up still alone in front of goaler when same russion player stick him down again haha
