I just heard a report on WEEI that the Yankees will skip Vazquez in the rotation when they play the Red Sox. Yeah it makes sense to use the best if they are available, but it really shows how little the Yankees think of their $11.5 million pick up. The question here is are the Yankees being smart or quitting on Vazquez. This is the second time the Yanks have passed by him versus the Sox.

There was also an announcement that Nick Johnson is now going to have surgery. This doesn't seem like much of a loss considering his playing time and current .167 batting average, but this along with Vazquez and others show a few cracks in the Yankees alleged Shangri-la.

Hello Merlot,

Well we know Cashman is shooting blanks. He has a history of it. Johnson was a joke...Mr DL.

And Javier is just trying to find himself Merlot...lol! I would like to refer to some off season posts where the pinstripe blinded were touting their 4th ace and yours truly said he sucked the last trip through NY, he will suck this trip too...:p It's just laughable that they are skipping him for a second start against Boston...to quote Iggy - "bbbwwwwwwwwaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

No actually, the Yankees lost 3 of 4. Let's give full credit where it's due. ;)

Thanks for correcting me...my bad. Hi, hi...
BTW Ortiz has 2 more hits so far tonight and a couple more RBI's...

Mo Blows It...In GRAND fashion...

In late breaking news the great Mariano Rivera showed he was human in Minnesota today blowing a save...maybe he's just hanging out too much with Javier Vazquez...:p

Hello Jman,

Well, there was a game we should have had in our pockets last night too when Lester pitched.

As for Rivera, I like the guy personally, for as much as I know about him. I remember him in 2005 and the great sense of humor he showed when the Sox fans cheered him for blowing the save in game 4 of the 2004 ALCS, while the team was receiving it's rings with the Yankees forced to watch. How can you dislike a guy who was vital in the critical turning point of OUR CHAMPIONSHIP and the greatest choke in all sports history. He took the fans cheers with a huge smile and a bigger laugh...even tipped his hat in salute. The guy has CLASS! But he did blow it big time today. In fact, I think the ball has now been sighted in the stratosphere as a UFO over Montana...lol. They can't decide whether it's a comet or a meteor.

Let's not forget the outstanding job by Joba today! 2/3 of an inning, 2 hits, 1 walk, and 3 ER! That's the Joba we all know and love!

Hello SK,

Why thank you.
Yeah baby...kinda reminds you of this magical moment...

Hello Merlot,

I don't dislike Mo. Along with Jeter he is one of 2 Yankees with some class. Much more than I can say for their fan base (well some of the fan base...lol)
I do however tremendously enjoy when he fails.
And today he was on his knees...serving up salami...grand salami...lol.

Have fun,

Jman

not as bad as blowing a 2 run lead in the bottom of the ninth, Arod goes deep off paps, now 9-9
Wanted to immortalize this post before it got deleted...as the Yankees blow a 5 run lead and are now down 9 - 7...

I absolutely can't stand Papelbon & he's not even pitching for the team i cheer for! For some reason, he just gets on my nerves!

Papelbon totally sucked tonight. He seems to amass good numbers against weak teams but he got taken to the fucking woodshed and bullwhipped tonight. An unmitigated disaster, but I saw it coming because the Yankees know they can beat that guy. Plus, they do not take 2 run deficits as seriously as teams with less pop. It means shit to them, especially at home.

Hello Jman,

My fault. I actually turned on the game to see Teixeira fly out...then, oh well. Too bad, the Yankees had a...excuse me...another great choke going. They can't even get that right...lol.

Nice to see Hughes come back to reality.

Cheers,

That's the story of his whole career, the guy flat out stinks and I never liked him, one of the most overrated players in baseball.
