Came across some interesting Stats today on the leading  Cy Young candidate...big olc Cheeseburger Cheeseburger.
So far in 3 starts against the Sox this season he is 0-0 with a 4.77 ERA and the Sox are 2-1 in the games he has started against them...

In case you are wondering AJ has improved his lifetime Yankee ERA vs Boston to 12.66 so far this year...ya, thats actually lower that his lifetime.:rolleyes:

And it looks as though he is keeping up the tradition against another AL East foe as the Yankees are down 5 - 0 to the Rays (the team to beat in the East) with Master Burnett on the mound tonight.

It could be because those guys pitch much better against the weaker teams?!

Have fun,

Jman

What's strange is that the #2, 3 & 5 guys are barely hitting over .200 & have having terrible seasons so far. I'm referring to Hill, Lind & O-verbay. They were expected to be the leaders on this team, with Hill & Lind having all-star calibre seasons last year. But Fred Lewis, Vernon Wells & John Buck have been hitting a ton & a lot of the Jays success is timely hitting. So far, the pitching is sound, but considering how young their pitchers are, with Shaun Marcum returning after Tommy John surgery, they can't be expected to maintain the current pace.

However, it's fun to watch them play like this. I've already bought my tickets for this summer when the Sox will be in town, so i'm hoping they're still playing like they are now.

Hi Doc,

LOL, I know all about the 2, 3, 5 ... Lind is killing me in FBB with his under performance. I benched him a while ago and frankly think he's wasting that spot too as my patience grows thin.
Enjoy the games. I always wanted to stay at that hotel and get laid while looking out over the field during a game.

Have fun,
Jman

Outstanding job by Buchholz tonight, 8+ IP and 2 ER's, can't say the same for Burnett and the Yanks. Ouch, that fantastic pride, guts, and determination bullpen is getting trounced on top of AJ's putrid performance! Haha. Love it.

Where I belong.
The scouting report the Yankees have on Wade Davis is that his pitch counts can be driven up very high very early. The Yankees have been told to take pitches.
That's the problem with posting stupid shit™ on the board in advance of the occurrence of the actual event. When the event predicted by the stupid shit™ doesn't occur, the purveyer of the stupid shit™ comes off as a stupid shit™ disturber.

Is it just me, or do the Yankees seem to be on a downward trajectory?

This just in. Jorge Posada has a fracture in his foot. While the Yankees are saying he'll be out 3-4 weeks, 6-7 is a better bet for this type of injury. Meanwhile, up in Boston, Scott Schoeneweis has finally been DFAd. Maybe the Yankees will pick him up.

Hello All,

Apparently two of the three stooges are attending a meeting somewhere there is no internet and have left Beav here all by his lonesome...wait I hear something....

... never mind, it was just a cricket.

Anyway...no rumples, pieces seem to be falling off the bus in NY at a rapid rate. All of a sudden starting pitching is crap, the bullpen is showing its true colors, the team is not hitting as a team...oh wait is it because they do well against the weaker teams?! Holy shit did those pinstripers get throttled last night...

Meanwhile in Beantown...the offense seems to have awakened (AND Oh is PAPI kicking ass or what?! and its not even June yet) and is still waiting the return of Els and Cameron, and the trajectory seems to be going the other way. Hate to sound like a broken record...but...thats why they play 162...

GREAT TO SEE YOU'RE BACK PAPI!!!

Have fun,

PS Still looks to me like the team to beat in the AL East is the Rays...hmmm, I've heard that somewhere...lol

Things tend to even out in the long run, though they seem to be doing so over two years, not one. Last year, the Yankees went through the season with no significant injuries beyond losing Pay-Rod for a month and their "core four" of aging players all performed like they were 27.

Now, the chickens are coming home to roost. The injuries are coming in a flood and Jeter, Posada, and Rivera are suddenly old. Pettitte will join the parade soon. Over the last month, the Yankees are 15-12, the Sox 16-11.

It's now 12 in a row for the Yankees against the Twins, as Andy Pettitte has joined Phil Hughes as 5 game winners without a loss and both have an ERA under 2.0. It was an absolutely masterful and dominant 2 hit performance today against the Twins over 6.2. Andy just carved up the corners of the plate to the point where the home plate umpire, dumbfounded in amazement, was consistently late with his calls, confusing both Cervelli and Pettitte.

John Lester ANOTHER stellar performance throwing a complete game gem in a 6-1 Sox victory, wow, the kid is back after his notorious slow start. You should have seen the umps amazement at the way he was carving up the plate all night Beav, absolutely historical stuff? BTW, how'd Pettitte do tonight? I'm pretty sure the only thing he was carving up were Tampa bats as the balls were flying off of them all night (5.0 innings, 7 runs, 3 dingers!!!!!!!!) The same officiating crew that was dumbfounded by Andy last week were overheard saying that Lester's performance tonight just blew Pettitte's out of the water, amazing!! Bwwwwaaaahhhhh!!!!!!!!!!

Speaking of water, did you see the home plate ump after Lester punched out Mauer and Morneau in the sixth? There was a little puddle between his legs and it was obvious that he'd pissed his pants at Lester's carving of the plate. And, also, imagine punching out Mauer and Morneau back to back, both looking. I mean, like, you'd have to like Jesus or God or Carl Hubbell or Damaso Marte to achieve something like that. Wow!

Hello SK & Rumples...

Apparently dumb and dumber are away and cannot take too many calls...as the crickets continue...well after the sweep of the Twins, here is to continued success in Philly, home of the fan more obnoxious and even dumber than Yankee fans...

After that on to Tampa where maybe we can slow down the Rays...'cause the Yankees with all of that pride, guts, glory and whatever else $200M bullshit sure could play them competitively...bwhahahahaha!

Have fun,

Jman

PS Candy looked pretty old last night ...guess he lost his carving knife...

Good night for Javier Vazquez. He's working on a season high 2 consecutive shutout innings. Of course, my Aunt Gertrude could shut out the Mets.

1. Chien Ming Wang pulls a hammy running the bases and misses the rest of the season.
2. Javier Vazquez hurts his finger bunting.
3. The Red Sox have 9 games against two of the best teams in baseball (Philly and SF) while the Yanks mirror them with 9 against two of the worst (Mets and Astros.)

Interleague play sucks.

On a more serious note what the hell is wrong with Lackey, he was lights out three years ago and now he seems to be a shell of his former self, I remember him having one of the best breaking balls in baseball that was pure filth, I got to hand it to Cashmen for doing his due diligence and staying away from this guy because he flat out stinks.

Hi Rumples...

1 and 2 could be seen as blessings by their respective teams. Lol. Although the Yankees do need the help in the bullpen.
And as for 3...well I could start up the conspiracy theory about how the Yankee $$$ influences everything MLB does...but naah...lets not go there.

Have fun,

Jman

I as well as you Joe am glad Cashman didnt sign lackey and his kermit the frog voice, he is not cut out for the big city and boston media will carve him up as well if he doesnt get going soon. plus another reason, could you imagine hearing him after every game? well at least if he keeps stinking up fenway, he has a career as a muppet voice
