Villeneuve sold his share of the restaurant a year or two ago, if i remember correctly. I wasn't aware that the Baton Rouge chain had bought it. Villeneuve stated he had been disappointed with the low profits he had gained from the venture. I wasn't surprised. They tried to make it a high-end type of supper club, similar to the ones found along St-Laurent. For me, Crescent street isn't the type of area for such a club. I haven't been there since the new ownership took over. Hopefull they've made adjustments to the format.

So you can only criticize Quebec if you are REAL Quebecer?

I have numerous criticisms of the US Gov monopoly but I don't think my validity of my opinion or critique depends on my status as a US citizen, political affiliation, etc.

Its hard to critisize much when you don't live in the place... I mean there some stuff you can, i sure do for the us one, but i don't live there and many stuff escape my knowledge.

What about all those people the PQ drove down the 401, are they selfish jerks as well?
Pauline Marois is probably telling her elitist cronies that if the traitor Villeneuve is not happy, let him eat putine!

I don't think i could afford to live in Quebec. I'd love to live there, though. But there are better places to live in Canada if you want to live a comfortable life. I can't believe the taxes people have to pay to live there. But what can they do? The province is bankrupt & it can't afford to bring down the current tax rate. Quebecers are actually very fortunate that the rest of Canada pays higher taxes in order to help out other less-wealthy provinces, such as Quebec.

I don't think i could afford to live in Quebec....

And yet, just another post to start sh!t on Quebec from our dear Doc Hollywood !

"His name alone could get him elected ?"
You must be smoking some hard sh!t man !

You just pointed out in your post #24 that he was a total jerk for trying to cash in on Thursday's reputation which brought the majority of the people to Crescent street in the first place.

Problem with Villeneuve is when he wins something it's because he's good but when he crap out on so many things as he did, it's always the other ones fault.
Un ti criss de fils a papa qui fait vomir a entendre brailler comme un trou du c...

I love Montreal and specially all the girls out here and no a$$hole like him will ever sh!t on my city without having to answer for it !
At least we clean the sh!t out of all those corrupted MF.

Including the corrupted clowns who used to gov. our province and the ones managing our Habs before.

Villeneuve moving ? Bwahahahaha ! juste un est! de bon debarras !

He looked so stupid last year for being arrogant to the students who won the fight against mr. arrogant POS (of our late prime minister) who got kicked out of his own riding in the last election.

GOOD RIDDANCE !

Not bad in one year... Gainey, Gauthier, Charest, Tremblay, Vaillancourt and all their suceux de balustre.... and now Villeneuve ?

WOW ! we just need to get rid of Marois now.

He's entitled to live wherever he chooses however , as a businessman , he shouldn't get involved in politics.
It's a game that has no real winners.

I honestly do not think Jacques Villeneuve has any interest in getting involved in politics. To be a successful politician, you need to enjoy & be able to kiss everyone's ass & tell them what they wish to hear. Villeneuve is the anti-politician. It's not his game & he's quite aware of it. But like many others, including myself, he sometimes speaks his mind & he's quite aware it may not be what some people want to hear. But that's how he is & he can't help being what he is.

Huh??? I never called Villeneuve a jerk. I actually like the guy. Very much. What are you talking about when referring to Thursday's?? Thursday's has been out of business since last August, i believe. I simply mentionned that Villeneuve & his partner in Newtown tried the 'supper club' format & it seems not to have met their expectations. What they should have done is open that restaurant/club on St-Laurent street instead. But what do i know?

You don't have to be a politician to discuss politics. Anybody can be a victim of "foot in mouth disease".

In business the concept is to make as much money as possible. That includes taking money from people you like , dislike , or don't really have an opinion of. A successful businessman once told me " money is money, it's dosen't care about peoples race, gender, religion or political views.'

As far as advise on where to invest other peoples money, remember most restaurants fail, in Jacques case he made some money but below his expectations.

Wow! How do you propose to make Villeneuve answer for anything?

Easy, it's called 'more of the same on what we've been doing' ever since he started to sh!t on people here in Quebec !

Man... to go from racing an F1 and try to make it as a singer ?
No wonder he feels that low... :D

Try this one (while trying not to laugh).

I'm with Jacques on this I've worked with a number of companies that have aggressively moved out of Quebec or were only here for the tax breaks and when they were gone so were they.. Quebec is not business friendly, I have a friend that is a head hunter he has had a heck of time recruiting people to go to Quebec. I was offered a job here I couldn't take it. Financially I might have been able to make it work.. But the socialism disease here would have killed me one way or the other..

I understand the pride thing here, he's saying something that Quebeckers don't like.. but the truth stings sometimes.. Why is it that the feds needs to keep propping up Quebec.. They support industry here, they move departments here and they send truckloads of cash here. It can't be because the economy stands on it's own feet..

Look behind you.
Quebec is not business friendly to the wealthy but if you are a lower income Quebec family there are many perks for you. And if Jack ( what the Anglos call him ) wants to leave for what ever reason who should really care even if he says it is not because of tax reasons and it is. Look at France with their new tax, the majority of wealthy are running to get out and who can blame them.

Agree with you on Gainey, Gauthier and the canadiens management, altough i respect Gainey as a player, he wasn't too good of a GM and Gauthier was worst. But i don't agree with Charest, i think he did what he could and its no better since Matante Pauline is there... At least Charest stood up against the cry babies students and holded his ground as long as he could. There stuff was just over the top. I have nothing against 1 manifestation here and there, especially when its important stuff, but they literally hold the province hostage and caused trouble all of this to save a couple bucks, and they costed more to the province with damages and law enforcement overtime than what they had to pay...

And you even mention we need to get rid of Marois now, so who would you put in charge? La CAQ? I hope not... or worst, those bozos of Quebec Solidaire... ? LOL
