I don't think I'd call them "lowly" when they are currently leading the Atlantic Division, 2nd in the Eastern Conference, and 6th overall in the league.
Granted, you usually expect the great Detroit Red Wings to be doing even better, but so far they've only played 9 of 82 games.
As I predicted 3 days ago, it has happened. Cody gets 5 games for his boarding of Kronwall. Justice is sort of served: the punishment is fair and appropriate but it doesn't do anything to help the innocent victims (namely the Wings).

Who ever could have seen THIS one coming? The Monster was named first star of the week!
When people ribbed me about the Wings getting the Monster, I replied that I didn't like the move, as the Monster had been a bust with his previous NHL team....BUT at least I was wise enough to add that if Kenny Holland made the move there HAD to be a reason...and that if anyone could turn the Monster around it would be Mike Babcock and his staff.
Moral: Kenny Knows Best!
(PS: In case you're wondering, the BEST NHL GM of all time was Sam Pollock. Detroit fans are ALWAYS honest.)

I agree with Smuler. I loved Mike Brown when he played with the Leafs. I'd take him back anytime!!!

Even though he was a lousy coach and GM, Mike Milbury has found his niche as an NHL hockey commentator. I even find him more interesting than Don Cherry's Coaches Corner.

Agree on all counts. He was one of the worst GMs in history and he was a lousy coach. If you recall a certain incident, he also got a little too involved (!!!) in his son's hockey games.
As a commentator, however, he's VERY entertaining - not always RIGHT, but very entertaining largely BECAUSE he still has a lot of loose cannon in him. As for Grapes, his act wore thin a long long time ago.

Canada's national sport is Lacrosse.
Which in reality is bullshit. I don't know a single person who plays lacrosse. Hockey is the true national sport in Canada. After this it's curling.
