I don't understand the mental processes of Leaf fans.

When their team was being out shot night after night and being saved by excellent goal-tending, they never mentioned not deserving to win. Lately their goalie is below average and they are losing, but somehow they deserve to win. They supposedly are Stanley Cup contenders, but regard a game in New Jersey, the 21st team in the league, with a overwhelming home record of 18-17, as "tough".

A week ago, I resigned myself to their embarrassing themselves and the NHL in the playoffs in consecutive years. Instead, they impressed me with their dedication to getting an early start on training for their golf championship, avoiding even a single "loser" point in five straight games. In the next week or so, they will play St. Louis, Philadelphia and Boston, so they should be able to coast into golf season. Come to think of it, their captain, Pylon Phaneuf, is ideally suited for a sport which one plays without moving one's feet.

Excellent post Anon Vlad and as we all know they lost again tonight 5-3. No Reimer excuse this time, since Bernier was back. Can't fault Bernier for the loss because as usual the leafs were outshot by a massive amount. Tonight's humiliating margin - in this leaf home game - was 49-25! That's 6 losses in a row, without even a single loser point. Even for the leafs that's pretty damn bad!

Have you seen your team play lately? They are small and are wearing down...you wont make the playoffs. If you start now, you have a little over 2 months to get used to that lovely idea aka what will become FACT I am not worried about the Leafs, not at all.

Here's a comment made to a Habs fan in January. Some people might find it amusing.

Meanwhile Bernier was back for Toronto's home game against the Blues but the Leafs lost anyway (sixth in a row). Can't blame Bernier for a 5-3 loss at home when his team was outshot 48-25!

Almost a 2:1 margin !!!

Check out the fourth STL goal where Steen out muscled Celine Sloppy Seconds in front of the net !

speaking of Celine Sloppy Seconds, Phagoof led all Leafs in a certain category ...

I remember that, but Lucic was a kid just starting out in the league. Laraque was the heavy weight champ at the time and the coach told him not to fight him.

Based on the replay, and unless I am blind and don't know where my own nuts are...it's definitely a simple hook up Emelin's ass hole...like the asshole Emelin really is!
And the league must have seen it the same way otherwise Lucic would have been suspended.

I'd say you either never played hockey while wearing a jock strap or you are blind and possess very tiny balls.

Too bad the Wings lost...but at least it was to a REAL team (i.e.: not a bunch of sad sacks with 6 losses in a row).

The story of the game:

Score: Habs 5 Wings 4

Shots: Wings 30 Habs 29

Hits: Wings 20 Habs 15

Faceoff wins: Wings 38 Habs 28

Giveaways: 4 each

Takeaways: 5 each

Blocked shots: 10 each

And that little thing called goaltending: Price didn't put up the greatest numbers of his career with .867 but our friend JIMMY HOWARD WAS ONCE AGAIN JIMMY HOWARD with .828.

Yup, goaltending is part of the game!

Anyway, well done Habs :thumb:- probably the only Canadian team that will make the playoffs.

Whatever else occurs this season, the highlight will have to be the 7 straight losses posted by Dion and the leafs. SEVEN....and not even a SINGLE loser point in that span! Gotta love it!

No, I'm not worried about the leafs either: I'm sure they'll have a great time on the golf course.

Yes, the Leafs are now a young and hungry team, with depth. As for the Wings, what would happen if Zetterberg, Datsyuk, and Howard went down? Can you imagine??

1. I don't know about young but the leafs must be hungry... for a win after SEVEN CONSECUTIVE LOSSES.

2. What would happen? Gee, I guess the team would be composed mostly of Griffins and would probably be tied with the leafs but have 2 games in hand over Canada's National Embarrassment.

P.S.: "Depth" - ha ha ha - the leafs don't have a SINGLE good d-man or a SINGLE top centre. But give them credit: they DO have Colton "Not Bobby" Orr and David "36.75 million dollar" Clarkson - ha ha double ha!

Congrats to the leafs on the return of Dave Bolland and Jonathan "Delay of Game" Bernier. I guess they're doing great now, right?

Uhh, NO, they aren't. In fact, with tonight's LOSS - at home - to the Griffins, the hopeless, pathetic, abysmal leafs have now lost an astonishing EIGHT IN A ROW and have not even been "good enough" (ha ha) to pick up even a single loser point.

The first 5 losses in their incredible streak were blamed on Reimer.. but "Delay of Game" (with an .857 tonight) has been in nets for their latest 3 LOSSES.

What an absolute joke of a franchise!
