Let's face it, the Leafs easily would have won with Jonathan Bernier between the pipes. The next time these two teams meet will be at the end of the month at the ACC. It should be a good one!

Detroit has played the leafs 4 times this season and has won 3 of the games, including the 2 most recent.

The quoted post was submitted by a leaf fan after the leaf loss a week and a half ago.

In tonight's loss, Bernier WAS "between the pipes" but the result was still yet another leaf loss.

I guess talk of the cup will now go away since the savior Thomas Vanek decided not to show up again, much like he does when he is playing somewhere he does not want to be. Heard earlier today from some hockey insiders that Vanek may not try all that hard for the Canadians so he wont risk getting injured so he can hit the Jackpot as scheduled on July 1, likely with the Wild where he wants to go because his wife is from there. Way to go Bergervin, trade away picks for a guy that is more about the $ than the team.

So far Vanek has played 12 games for the Habs. He has 6 goals, 5 assists, 11 points, and is plus 6 in that span.

Another Nail in the Coffin

Someone should call the police to report a robbery. Victim: toronto maple leafs. Thief: Carolina Hurricanes.

The leafs traded John-Michael Liles for Tim Gleason. Liles is BETTER than Gleason and the cap hit for Liles ($3.875 million) is LESS than the cap hit for Gleason ($4 million), but that wasn't enough for those thieving Canes. They ALSO got valued prospect Dennis Robertson. Pure, outright THEFT by the Canes against the leafs.

Mind you, since Carlyle was wasting Liles just like he wasted Grabo (and how did THAT one work out, leaf fans?), what's the difference?

I posted this on January 1.

Since then:

Gleason with the leafs: 33 games, 1 goal, 4 assists, 5 points, 53 penalty minutes, MINUS 11

Liles with the Canes: 27 games, 1 goal, 5 assists, 6 points, 8 penalty minutes, PLUS 9

BOYZ!

Uhh, NO, they aren't. In fact, with tonight's LOSS - at home - to the Griffins, the hopeless, pathetic, abysmal leafs have now lost an astonishing EIGHT IN A ROW and have not even been "good enough" (ha ha) to pick up even a single loser point.

So that's what Iggy meant by ..."DEAD THINGS"...ROFLMAO!!!

G1GBallday, I've never seen anything more PERFECTLY ACCURATE about a team and a fanboy than that picture. That's the Leafs for the last 47 years, and that's Iggy failing to deal with reality of any kind every day.

Absolutely AMAZING!!!

There will be dancing in the streets of Toronto tonight!

Koolaid sales will go through the roof!

Mayor Ford will be asked to plan a parade route for the Cup!

Dave Nonis will extend David Clarkson's contract for ANOTHER 7 years...but the NEXT seven will be for SEVENTY million dollars, not a mere 35 or 36.

Dion Phaneuf's sweater will be raised to the rafters.

Phil and Tyler will buy a multi-million dollar mansion. (Well, okay - it's just Phil who will pay, but of course he'll invite Tyler to live there rent-free).

And the reason for all this happy extravagance and optimism? Simple: the leafs are on a WINNING STREAK!

Of course, it's a winning streak of only 1 game, after EIGHT CONSECUTIVE LOSSES without even a single loser point.

Of course, it was a home game and it was against a BRIAN BURKE team, the Calgary Flames (next to the leafs, the only other embarrassment in the league).

And it all happened on a VERY appropriate day for a LEAF victory (there are two words you rarely see together!): April Fool's Day.

Underscoring the fact that it was April Fool's Day: David Clarkson actually scored! Who ever would have believed that Clarkson would get his FIFTH goal of the season before Ovi gets his 50th?

Let's hope that the winning streak ends at ONE for this humiliation of a "team", this ABOMINATION on the face of hockey, this TRAVESTY called the toronto maple leafs.

They're nowhere near the contenders they used to be. Time for a major rebuild: in this day and age, you can't have a team built around two aging and ailing stars (Datsyuk and Zetterberg), and expect to do well, especially when they're not around to save the team from disaster.

One also has to think that with datysuks and zettyburgs injuries at their ages, that their best days are behind them. If they were a very young team (like the up and coming Leafs) then no worries about where they sit in the east on this date, but the fact they are a older team with their so called "stars" (who are mid to late 30's or older)being injured and or declining skills (datysuk/zettyburg/clown alfie/bertuzi/franzon/legwand/cleary/samuelsson) Doc's predictions look pretty darn good.

Here is a thought, maybe kenny-boy holland can trade Datysuk/Howard/Clown Alfie and Zettyburg for the overall #1 pick and a bag of new pucks so the rebuild can "officially" be underway. If nothing else, at least babCock will have nice brand new pucks to start next seasons first practice with.....Deadtroit needs a lot of ...............................:help: ahhhhhhhhhhhh the tide is a changing and how Sha-Weet it is!

Lupul is second to only SID THE KID! :) If he can stay healthy he will be a top 10 scorer in the NHL, then again same for Crosby if he can stay healthy for a full season as well...

Well they both stayed pretty healthy. I still see Crosby's name at the top of the scoring list but Joffrey has dropped WAY out of sight...sort of like his "team".

You won't hear from anything resembling a Leaf fan again this season unless they make a very improbable return to possible post season play. Lol.
