Rumor has it that immediately after their 5-2 humiliation by the Red Wings, the leafs began booking time on their favorite golf courses.

Rumor has it that management at the golf courses replied, "Don't worry boys - we already had you pencilled in for the first day after the regular season ends, as usual! We KNOW you're always here as soon as the good teams start the playoffs.""

Cowboy C. you do "no" it is preseason unlike what ur browine Bud SK thinks, right:? Bwhahahahahaahahaahahahahahah :lol::lol:

1. I see you're back with your fantasizing. Please stop. As always, no judgements on your personal lifestyle, but it's not for me. No hard feelings though: enjoy your music, put up your feet, gaze at your John Wayne posters and have a great time. Best wishes.

2. Funny - when the pathetic leafs eked out a pre-season shootout victory over the Sabres (not exactly the best team around) you were beside yourself with joy. Of course when the hapless leafs get their asses handed to them in a typically gutless display against a real team, you go into your usual fit of denial. I do understand though: you've got NOTHING so what the hell else can you do?

3. You shouldn't be insulting SK: it's against the rules.

4. You can find a good dictionary at any bookstore. It might be a good idea to buy one.

There seems to be a contradiction here. First you say that Phil "the Stick" Kessel and Poor Jimmy Reimer didn't play but then you say that your poor dead things played their entire lineup? Still, I congratulate you for admitting that your woeful sad sack leafs are "dead things" - maybe you're finally leaving your state of denial.

Oh and by the way, most teams only play ONE goalie at a time so since Jonathan ".865 save percentage" Bernier was playing, maybe that's the reason Reimer wasn't. If you need further explanation of some of hockey's intricacies, feel free to ask: I'm always happy to teach someone like you who knows very little about the sport but is eager to try to learn.

Please explain what you're talking about here Igna. I know it's extremely disheartening to be torn to shreds every single goddamn time JC posts something to you, although it's comedy gold for everyone watching, still, what did I have to do with your pissing contest here?

Weren't you the one GLOWING over the Leafs preseason victories and camraderie in these threads? Lol. Typical of course being that they mean nothing, yet everything to those that have absolutely nothing! ;)

Lastly...Should we really talk about brown-nosing here Ig? Example 1 and just the very tip of the iceberg. Every time Joe.t opens his mouth your tongue pops out coming in from his asshole! I know you guys have a special "bond" but get a grip. I'd be happy to continue with other examples of your pathetic brown-nosing but you really really don't want me to go there ;)

SK, you've just won the Olympic Gold Medal of TRUTH for 2013 by unanimous vote. Never before has he been so perfectly described.

I'd be happy to continue with other examples of your pathetic brown-nosing but you really really don't want me to go there ;)

It's a little worse than brown-nosing. ;)

If you can't control your emotions in the non free for all threads when that is all that's asked of you as well as myself...

I think joel, you need a break , again... this is not the free for all and your late night drunken antics are really scary lately...

Let's not forget he's also the master of cowardly lying hypocrisy. How well we remember his recent 5am angry drunk psychotic meltdown in the baseball thread...and yet he dares think he can tell anyone else. ‹^› ‹(•¿•)› ‹^›

I know. I know. I don't even follow hockey, but this thread's becoming one of my favorites. Abbot and Costello, with iggy doing a fabulous Costello imitation.

I have Lucille; Joe has iggy. Brilliant.

Maybe you don't, but I'm all ears.:D

Wow, some peeps are easily upset lol.... It's sports boys, stay calm ;)
Upset? Upset? Who's upset. The Joel and Iggy show is some of the best entertainment going, though I guess I can see why you're not enjoying it.

I suppose I COULD reply by saying: "Bwhahahhhahaahahaahaha.......................... typical Homer! Bwhahahaahahaahahahaahahaahahahaahahaha

Only lNga69xxx could love this game , bwhahahahaahahaahahaah

And, soooooooooooooooooooooooo predictable" ....but that would be stupid and immature. NO ONE of any intelligence would ever write such gibberish.

Thus, I must offer my sincere congratulations to the maple leafs for defeating the Grand Rapids Griffins 3-1 and for outshooting Detroit's minor leaguers 27 to 25.

Let this be a wake-up call to Detroit management: As woeful an NHL franchise as Toronto is, it is still prudent to ice NHL players when facing even the WEAKEST squad in the League.

Rumor has it that this was the SECOND big victory for the leafs this week, following their 2-1 overtime triumph in a ball hockey game against St. Michael's Elementary School's "A" lineup. Congrats leafs!

It Was Easy to See This One Coming

To no one's surprise, Joe Colborne went from the miserable leafs to the Flames for a conditional 4th round pick that COULD turn into a 3rd rounder. With Burkie in Calgary it was obvious from the start that the 2 absolute worst franchises in the League would start exchanging their worthless players. (BTW, Calgary was NOT one of the 2 worst franchises - UNTIL a certain upper management move took place a couple of months ago - heh heh.)

As this scenario develops it will probably - in the long run - go in Toronto's favor since Nonis (even though he's one of the weakest GMs around) is STILL brighter than the perennially overrated Brian "4 years of complete and total failure in Toronto" Burke.

As we can see, Burkie still LOVES giving up draft picks. Hey, who NEEDS a future?

Bye bye John-Michael

John-Michael Liles was a star in last night's 3-1 leaf victory over Detroit's farm team. J-M had a goal and an assist. Nicely done J-M!

His reward was to be placed on waivers. This was totally expected for two reasons: 1. J-M was yet another in the HUGE list of "saviors" (ha ha) who came to the wretched leafs and ended up by being complete duds and continuing the 46 year leaf tradition of complete and utter failure (which reached its ULTIMATE "highlight" - ha ha - in the 4 TOTALLY rotten years of Brian Burke, during which the putrid stench of abject failure became even worse). 2. Due to total mismanagement of the salary cap the leafs had to dump some salary and of course they couldn't lose TRUE talent (ha ha HA!) like poster boy Colton Orr. After all, Colton is needed in case anyone looks sideways at Phil "the Stick" Kessel.

Maybe if the leafs didn't GROSSLY overpay for Bozak, Phaneuf and a few others they wouldn't be in cap trouble.

Mismanagement of the cap, horrendous trades, poor draft choices, weak ownership, untalented upper management, bad coaching, whining crybabies, unethical rulebreaking players - is it any wonder that this is the worst franchise in all of professional sports?

The Kessel Deal: Toronto Shoots Itself in the Foot Once Again

What was Nonis thinking? EIGHT years at $64 MILLION???????????????????????? WAY too much money and WAY too many years. Then again, it's perfectly consistent especially after the ridiculous contracts given to Tyler Bozak and David "ten game" Clarkson.

The leafs have taken another giant step in extending their 46 years of complete and utter failure....for at least 8 more years! No wonder so many people refer to them as the maple laughs!

NO idea on how to manage a cap and NO idea on how to build for long-term (or even short-term, for that matter) success. Looks like the sad sacks will STAY sad sacks!

The only bright spot for the leafs is that this probably means Phaneuf will be gone within a year, and losing a PYLON can be nothing but GOOD news for ANY team!

Great Quotes on the Kessel Deal from NHL.com

1. 8 years at $8 million a year for Phil Kessel? Signing people like Kessel to contracts like this is the reason why your last Stanley Cup photo was in black and white.

2. Way to be an instigating, stick-swinging coward. Here's an 8 year deal.

3. $8 million for a swollen-headed cry-baby stick-swinging wannabe.

4. If you think Phil "The Axe Man" Kessel is the answer to your dreams, then you just keep on dreaming.

5. Kessel hasn't won jackshit except for a lumberjack competition against John Scott.

Great stuff!
