And then the Kid gets his first ever NHL goal, love the depth! Speaking of depth it sure is nice to have a "Bernier" on the bench to take over when Reims went down.... love it!

Congratulations to Leivo

Winner by TKO over Reimer at the 32 second mark....and the crowd goes wild!

good teams find a way to win

True, so how do you explain the LEAFS winning?

Don't worry: the question will soon be void, since a crappy team like the leafs (outshot in 5 of the 7 games they've played so far and outPLAYED in at least 4 of them!) won't keep "winning" for long.

Same as last season, the thing is most of the shots come from the outside by design by the defensive coaching and the style they implement. Next? LOL!

As far as keep winning, you sure hope not or you will have no choice but to get your entertainment looking into the "mirror" ewwwwwwww

(outshot in 5 of the 7 games they've played so far) won't keep "winning" for long.

I hate to admit it but I feel sorry for the leafs: a guy like Bernier should ALWAYS be on the bench. LA had the right idea: let an NHL caliber goalie win us a "Quick" Cup and keep the CAREER BACKUP on the bench where he won't do us any harm until we can find some GM dumb enough to take him off our hands.

Leafs again outshot and outplayed. This time they got what they deserved - a nice big resounding loss.

Wings currently up 2-0 against the undefeated Avs.

Kessel: no points, minus one

Phaneuf: no points, minus one

Leivo: The poor guy was ROBBED BLIND! He was credited with no hits...but he actually had one GREAT hit VERY early in the game.

Bernier: Hey Jonathan, add this one to your LOSS column.

Yea, Phil "the stick" Kessel (thanks for the name cowboy c) is only top 10 in scoring like usual BWHAHAHAHAHHAAHAHAH ,,, you might wanna actually "THINK" b4 u post cowboy! :)

Pavel who????? bwhahahaahahaah

Sorry but "The Stick" is not in the top 10 anymore.

Pavel who? Glad you asked: That would be Pavel Datsyuk, who has ALREADY moved AHEAD of the Invisible Man in scoring and who still has time left in the game to move even further ahead of Toronto's slashing and spearing expert.

Glad you enjoyed TO's first seven games - too bad that starting with the 8th leaf game reality has set in. Looks like the usual woeful leaf season is coming up followed by their usual EARLY appearance on the golf course. Fore!

Bwhahahahaahahahaha, your posts could be condensed down to like 5 over the years, as they are all exactly the same....What do you say "cc", 10 more posts tonight in 15 minutes for old times sake?

Have a nice night dreaming of all things Leafs, just another normal night in your world lol

PS. when are we gonna get a sp review from you? Just one will do :eyebrows:

We all know you're a huge fan of cowboys and disco, but it seems your third love is mirrors, since you are renowned for never having done a single review in your 7356 posts.

PS: With your pathetic leafs showing their true LOSER colors, I guess it's no surprise that you want to CHANGE the subject away from hockey. Oh well, even though your hockey and baseball hopes have turned to shit, you've always got your John Wayne posters and your "friend" to cheer you up.

Sorry, I guess I just don't have the remarkable literary talent that you have consistently displayed in your 7356 posts. Your grammar is always faultless. Your spelling is always perfect. Your creativity and wisdom shine through in every timeless phrase you utter. Your factual knowledge is flawless. Your logic is impeccable. You are a true master. In fact, the post I have quoted here is a perfect example of your genius.

I guess the ONLY problem is that you were supposedly responding to my post on tonight's leaf loss, but your "response" - as usual - has NOTHING to do with the post you are "responding" to and NOTHING to do with HOCKEY, which is supposedly what this thread (which YOU started) is supposed to be about. Perhaps it's because - as usual - you have NOTHING to say and NO intelligent arguments to counter what I wrote. Thus, you do what unarmed people always do in such battles: you resort to idiocies, irrelevancies and insults (the 3 i's) because there is NOTHING else you can do. It's kind of like "The Stick" when he's in a fight: he knows he's got NOTHING, so he takes the coward's way out and slashes and spears. I see why you like Phil and I see why you like the leafs. For someone like you, the leafs are the PERFECT team to root for - it's just too bad that they're perpetual losers.

I promise you: I have never and WILL never dream of the leafs (although I do admit that they have given me THOUSANDS OF LAUGHS over the years). Your heroes (leafs and cowboys) are yours alone, so enjoy them. Too bad that as a leaf fan your dreams of your heroes more often than not turn out to be nightmares - but I guess your John Wayne posters never let you down.

ps. Lupul is second to only SID THE KID! :) If he can stay healthy he will be a top 10 scorer in the NHL, then again same for Crosby if he can stay healthy for a full season as well....

Pavel who????? bwhahahaahahaah

Gee, ain't it funny how things can change in only 5 days? Zetterberg and Datsyuk are now tied for 2nd in the league in scoring. Phil? He's WAY out of the top 10.

Let's compare Pav and Phil: Both played 8 games. Both have 6 assists. Pav has 4 goals, Phil 2. Pav has 10 points, Phil 8. Pav has 2 game winning goals, Phil 1. Pav is plus 7, Phil plus 2. Pav has a winning faceoff percentage, Phil says "Let someone else take the faceoffs." Pav has hits, Phil says "I don't hit. I slash and I spear but don't ever ask me to hit." Pav is also the best defensive forward in the NHL, Phil says "I don't do defence. I'm a sniper - can't you tell that from the TWO goals I scored this year?" Pav has a better shooting percentage. Pav's team has won four in a row, Phil's has lost one in a row. Pav's team just beat the previously undefeated Avs, Phil's team just lost to the (ha ha) Canes. Pav had two goals and one hit in his team's win and was named second star, Phil had NO points, NO hits, and NO star selection.

Oh and by the way, the Monster (formerly known as the Monstrosity) had a .950 save percentage in this game for his third straight victory.

And you might have noticed that I was able to write all this without resorting to a single insult, corruption of your handle, or "bwahaha". See: it CAN be done - maybe you should give it a try sometime before your 8000th post.

Pleasant "dreams" Mr. Leaf Fan.

This is quite an amusing remark coming from someone who has proven over 7000 times that he can barely read, can barely write, and can't do much of anything except spew kindergarten-level insults and exclaim "bwahaha". It's also ironic that it's coming from someone who, in his more than 7000 posts, has never written a review but has often expressed endless admiration for cowboy culture and has shown great devotion to his "friend". As usual, you are unable to come up with an intelligent response, so you regurgitate the same bile that you previously vomited. Guess what? It has even more of a stench the second time around. I can see why everyone who reads our exchanges feels nothing but pity for you. But congratulations: I see you've now succeeded in upping your post count to 7364 - a remarkable achievement to write so often and say so little. By the way, since this is a HOCKEY thread (although it would be hard to realize that if someone looked only at your posts here, which usually have nothing to do with hockey and everything to do with infantile insults and fatuous name-calling), please allow me to point out that you obviously know nothing about the sport, as evidenced by the fact that you NEVER respond to my HOCKEY statements with HOCKEY talk...and only with ill-advised, inaccurate, tiresome, repetitive, juvenile, irrelevant, and unoriginal blather like the post quoted above. For 5 years you've predicted great things for the leafs and for 5 years you've been completely wrong. In the finals of the 2013 Stanley Cup, you famously stated that Chicago would not win another game...at which point they won EVERY subsequent game AND the Cup. When you're challenged on HOCKEY, you invariably resort to your idiotic name-calling because you lack the intellectual capacity to respond intelligently to the HOCKEY issues being discussed...but more importantly you lack the wisdom to know when you are beaten.

Now, for your HOCKEY lesson. Lord knows you undoubtedly require lessons in many other areas also, but this IS supposed to be a HOCKEY thread, remember? Here goes:

James Norris Memorial Trophy

The Norris Trophy is awarded each year to the NHL's outstanding defenceman. Bobby Orr won it 8 times. Nick Lidstrom and Doug Harvey each won it 7 times. Other great winners included Ray Bourque, Paul Coffey, Scott Niedermayer, Chris Pronger, Pierre Pilote, Al MacInnis, Chris Chelios, Zdeno Chara, Larry Robinson, Red Kelly, etc. A pretty impressive list!

But by all means, let's not forget all those great TORONTO DEFENCEMEN who won the Norris! Oops, sorry - my mistake! In the entire history of the NHL, NO Toronto defenceman has EVER won the Norris! Now THAT is a truly remarkable achievement...even for Canada's National Embarrassment.

Stay tuned, ig: More hockey lessons will be coming in the future. Keep reading: you might eventually learn something about the sport. You MIGHT even learn how bad the leafs have been for SO long!

That's quite nice of you, Joel, but considering that iggy is Merb's Prince of Nyah, Nyah, Nyah, Nyah, Nyah, which is, in fact, what got him banned, you are perhaps being too kind.

You should know, as well, that the sports threads are visible to all: members, the banned, non-members alike.
