What's so Earth-shattering and substantial in what you have posted, that requires an answer? It's just the same old thing over and over again.

Who asked you for an answer? I only asked for another soft pitch that I could hit out of the park...and I'm happy to see that you've obliged with your little piece of fluff.

My job is merely to report and comment on the TRUTH, in an effort to attempt to educate the 3 remaining poor, misguided leaf fans - while at the same time entertaining the huge numbers of true HOCKEY fans who quite naturally loathe and despise the National Embarrassment known as the maple leafs.

You are correct in stating "It's just the same old thing over and over again" since "over and over again" - for 47 YEARS - the leafs have reeked of failure. But hey - don't blame me: I just report the TRUTH. It's the pathetic leaf organization that creates the TRUTH with their consistent hopelessness - 47 YEARS of consistent hopelessness!

And one more thing that we see "over and over again" is your two hockey-challenged cronies shooting off their mouths making "bold" (ha ha) predictions that virtually always end up being wrong, and putting up macho advance boasts that virtually always end up making them look like laughingstocks when the boasts also end up being wrong.

To conclude.....

The Leafs played a very good game last night. They deserved to win. Were it not for a flukie goal in the first period (and a disallowed goal later), the outcome would have been different. Jimmy Howard stunk the joint all season long & he had to pick last night's game to be at the top of his game. Finally. Sure, he was lucky at times, but luck is a part of sports.

Great game by Phil Kessel who led both teams in shots-on-goal. Strong game by the Kadri line. Strong game by Jake Gardiner & Dion Phaneuf. Strong game by back-up goalie James Reimer, even though his always negative coach seems to have thought otherwise. Let's face it, the Leafs easily would have won with Jonathan Bernier between the pipes.

I was impressed by Nyquist's speed. The Wings have a few young players to build on once they get rid of the old, excess baggage (Bertuzzi, Alredsson, Legwand, etc). They should definitely try to trade Zetterberg & Datsyuk while they still have value. They need to upgrade at the goaltending position. One strong game in 40 from Jimmy Howard just doesn't cut it.

The next time these two teams meet will be at the end of the month at the ACC. It should be a good one!

Hey no problem. As long as you and Doc keep giving me such easy pitches I'll keep hitting them out of the park.

If McGwire and Bonds had you guys pitching they never would have had to use PEDs.

Hahaha, now that is truly f'n hilarious!!

Excellent analysis Reverdy, as usual.

Bad hit on Paul Ranger tonight, hope he is ok but when a stretcher is brought out it is never a good sign. Prayers for PR.

Smuler,

Yea, The Great 8 is not so great on the forecheck lol ...
Just an example of what I was reading back in October, from you:
And this is what I am still reading today:

Great game by Phil Kessel who led both teams in shots-on-goal.

Yeah, he had 1 more shot than Goose but Goose SCORED twice and the Wings WON. Kessel could NOT score - could NOT even get an assist - and the leafs LOST. And Kessel was a minus one on the night. If that's your idea of a "great game", then let's hope Phil has many more just like it.

The Leafs played a very good game last night.

Strong game by the Kadri line.

Strong game by Jake Gardiner & Dion Phaneuf.

Strong game by back-up goalie James Reimer, even though his always negative coach seems to have thought otherwise.

So let's see: The leafs were "very good", Kessel was "great", the entire Kadri line was "strong", Gardiner and Phaneuf were "strong", Reimer was "strong"...and YET the leafs LOST to a team with TEN regulars missing, a team that YOU have many, many times called "old", a team that YOU have stated will not make the playoffs this year or the next FIVE years, a team that you and your acolyte refer to as "deadtroit" or the "dead things".

So even though the leafs -according to you - were pretty much ALL "great" and "strong", they couldn't beat a team composed largely of minor leaguers (Griffins) and "old" players. You know what? That sure as hell doesn't say much for the leafs!

Let's face it, the Leafs easily would have won with Jonathan Bernier between the pipes.

Yeah - at least in your dreams. What you wrote is pure SPECULATION. Bernier was NOT between the pipes so it's impossible to say what would have happened.

I could just as easily say that if Zetterberg and Datsyuk had played, the Wings would have won by FIVE goals...but I wouldn't say that....because they DIDN'T play and it would also be pure speculation.

You're also correct on this part, although to be fair to Howard he's actually had 3 or 4 good games this season. Obviously that STILL does not cut it. Apart from injuries, Howard has been the biggest problem this season. I hope Kenny can get rid of him - the sooner the better.

Yeah, I hope Ranger's okay.

But there might be a little karma after all the dirty hits this year by leafs like Phaneuf, Kadri, Clarkson, etc.

There's no place in hockey for this type of stuff.
