Is it too early to hit the panic button for the Red Sox?, 8 game losing streak and officially in dead, last place, in other words they flat out stink!!!!, at least they had a good season last year even though it was a complete fluke.

Boyzzzz!

What with all the running around I have done the past week, I had no clue the rouge hose have sucked that much in their last 8 until you just posted it Mr.T :thumb:

First to worst is definately a possibility like you mentioned early in the season bro. The Jays are also playing well and that is nice to see, finally.

The way you guys rave you'd think the Yanks were running away with this pennant! Hahahahaha. Barely a .500 team and probably dropping for good soon (after last night Robertson is surely no MO! Bwwaahhh.) At least when you're a fence sitter like Joe.t and have a back up team to cheer on it's not as bad. I think for my back up team I'll choose the Tigers! Go Tigers. Lol.

BTW in all seriousness I'll take FIRST,as in current, REIGNING WORLD SERIES CHAMPION, to last any
day. At least we're still gloating over the Sox most recent success while the other teams been decrepit for years now.

BOYZZZ,

I wouldn't bother with Iggy. He doesn't try to think enough to find his own opening greeting. He steals one instead.

Yankees fans are desperate indeed. In any other division their playoff hopes would be dying on the vine this early in the season. So their standard is to gloat over teams with a worse record instead aspiring to the World Series Championship the BOSTON RED SOX currently OWN!!!!!!!!!! It's pathetic. Just look at how fast one hot team went flying right by them. With more than 1/4 of the season gone the Yanks still are -13 in run differential. That's a pretty bad indication of real problems for a team still barely over .500.

With the huge amount of money Cashman spent to improve the team Yankees fan should be talking about strategy to reinforce a bid to take the championship, not picking fleas off team behind them in the standings. I mean how much money can Cashman waste on a third rate also ran. name the New York Yankees. Knowing Cashman the answer is a lot more for little to nothing gained. See Yankees 2014 for the perfect example.

http://t.foxsports.msn.com/sure-the-yankees-can-hit-better-but-will-they

Thursday, Chicago White Sox lefty Chris Sale made the Yankees look silly for six innings. No big surprise there. Sale is fantastic. But the Yankees have scored only eight runs in their last four games (including a 13-inning affair). After Thursday’s loss, Joe Girardi said, "We've ran against three pretty good starting pitchers, but I know we’re capable of hitting better than this."

Granted, Girardi’s "this" refers to just a few games. But anything might happen in a few games. What’s more interesting is the whole season. So how well have the Yankees been hitting this season? They're eighth in the American League in scoring, which seems exactly right since they're 10th in on-base percentage and sixth in slugging percentage.

...

First on the list is Brian McCann. One of our best hitting backstops, McCann's been dreadful this season. Part of the problem is McCann's lousy BABiP, but his walk rate is also way down. McCann is swinging at slightly more pitches this season, both inside and outside the strike zone, but you have to think he'll be good (if probably not great) for the rest of the year.

Second is Alfonso Soriano. It’s been a long time since Soriano was a great hitter. But he’s always been a good hitter — well, except for his rookie season in 2001 and his nightmare season in 2009 —but this season he’s not been good at all. At this point in his career, Soriano would be a fine role player. But an everyday player at a position that demands a potent bat? His .850 OPS after joining the Yankees last season was a mirage; Soriano’s true abilities are well-represented by his .789 OPS over these last five seasons. And his sub-par on-base percentage means his OPS is even less impressive than it seems. Oh, and he’s 38, with only five walks in 44 games this season. This might be the real him.

Third is Carlos Beltran, off to a slow start before going on the DL a couple of weeks ago with an elbow injury. He’s supposed to take some swings next week; if that doesn’t go well, it looks like a surgery that will cost him most of the summer.

And then there’s Jacoby Ellsbury, who’s been neither bad nor good, with an OPS+ exactly league-average of 100. You might think he’s underperforming, and he probably is ... but by how much, realistically? Ellsbury was of course tremendous in 2011, when he might well have been the best player in the AL. But even including that brilliant season, Ellsbury’s career OPS+ is 107. Is the 100 this season really so far out of line? He’s capable of hitting better and probably will. A lot better, though? I doubt it.

That’s seven of the regulars. The other two, middle infielders Brian Roberts and Derek Jeter, haven’t hit much, are old and hobbling, and will keep not hitting much.

Speaking of old, Ichiro Suzuki is batting .369 in part-time duties. Ichiro’s having a bizarre season — his strikeout rate’s way up, but he’s also got a .462 BABiP — but it’s also just 69 plate appearances, and so anything’s possible.

Add all this up, and what do you get? Sure the Yankees are capable of hitting better. The Astros are capable of winning 100 games this season. But we have to concern ourselves with likelihoods. And I just don’t see a great deal of room for improvement here. McCann should hit a lot better, Soriano and Ellsbury somewhat better. But Solarte should hit a lot worse, Teixeira and Gardner somewhat worse. Beltran’s a big question mark, but pessimism seems more sensible than optimism. Roberts and Jeter are just hanging on.

In other words: It (the Yankees) is what it is. How much did Cashman spend to make this team blandly mediocre...and sinking ???

Maybe just maybe Ellsbury broke out of his slump today and will now catch fire like the Yanks need him to. His game winning homerun was much needed to lift the Empire to a win the night after a blown save by Robertson. "Ells" also sparked the comeback an inning earlier today. Speaking of David R., he shook off last night to come right back and nail down the save today and showed his mental toughness and is a true Yankee.

I glanced at the scoreboard an hour ago and saw the rouge hose comfortably in front of the Rays 5-0 and figured an easy victory was FINALLY gonna happen for them. Well, as I write this it is now 5-5. Me thinks this is gonna be anything but an easy season for them.

The Blue Jays won again and are playing some really good baseball these days. My prediction is coming along perfectly as I said the Jays/Yanks would end up 1-2 in either order, one winning the division and the other getting a wild card spot. Of course I also predicted the rouge hose to finish dead last and so far they are keeping up their end of the bargain.

 Go Yanks! Go Jays!

Interesting phrasing. I saw that grammar used here a long time back. Can't remember who, etc.

But that battle for the Bottom between the R teams (Rays and Red Sox) is proving to be an even contest. Imagine blowing a 5-0 lead in the first. Stay tuned. That 8-game losing streak hasn't been snapped yet.

Congratulations to the Red Sux on another loss, up to 9 games, god is this team awful, they are now officially the second worst team in the AL, I would imagine that this team will be very active before the trade deadline.:yield:

It is actually last to first to last which is alive, and I do not believe it has ever been done. if you can manage to sandwich a championship between two last place finishes, and also manage to never discuss the last places finishes, that would be also be something that has never been done.

It's 9 losses in a row for the last year World Series winners.

Wonder what the record for most losses in a row for World Series winners?

It has to be close to a record? No? :help:

What is next for this team is the big question, fire Farrell?, fire Cherington?, fire sale?, I can assure you that rumpleforskin is not very happy at the current situation in Bosdone.

No cheer in chowder town. Fish for sale at the local market - Boston Fluke in honor of last year's champs.

How about the corpse of Grady Sizemore and his fabulous .211 average for an autographed baseball by Bartolo Colon, god did I ever laugh at that signing LOL.

I'm gonna light you on fire at the party Joe

I think that I may have made a mistake, I gambled big time and picked Bosdone to win on my sports ticket today, I'm thinking that there is no way that this stinking, lousy team loses 10 in a row, surely they can't be that bad.

Joe what is the pitching matchup? Workman vs. Odorizzi? Odorizzi really stunk for a while but the odor has been better the last 5 starts. Workman is a reliever so do not expect length from him meaning the bullpen that pitched 9 innings last night can expect more work

A minor league corpse by the name of Brandon Workman was called up by Bosdone to try and right the ship, but I didn't look at the pitching matchups, I'm just gambling that they don't lose 10 in a row, I would imagine that pride is on the line because nobody want's to be known as a 10 game in a row loser, not good for the esteem.
