Hey BOYZZZ!

The absolutely worst pitcher that the Yankees have skunks the Red Sox who could only muster 3 measly hits against Yankee pitching , what an EMBARRASSMENT!!!!

:thumb:

The big bad great Tanaka couldn't beat the team that lost to the Yankees worst pitcher. Right Joe boy, that's "EMBARRASSMENT!!!!".

Geeez Joe, every time you say something you screw it up. We know you bet the farm on this one too. No nookie for you pal.

Yes, Tanaka is a beast but he's obviously not the smartest pitcher going.

What a genius Farrell was to stick with Lester as well!! That's how a reigning WORLD SERIES CHAMPION manages ;)

Tanaka got BEAT by the lowly World Series Champion Boston Red Sox in Yankee Stadium. But at least the fans got to see Jeter and his faded skills take the field. Hey Beav, put that on his resume for Cy Young, MVP, and Rookie of the Year.

BWHAHA! :D

Yes, Tanaka is a beast but he's obviously not the smartest pitcher going. He foolishly shook off McCann twice in favor of a straight fastball that Napoli put a charge into to win the game.

I actually though it was a mistake to leave Tanaka in to pitch the 9th to begin with. His pitch count was 116 which was, if not his highest this year, one of his highest. Tanaka said after the game that his intention was to throw a fastball off the plate to set up a curveball on the next pitch. Obviously he did not get it off the plate.

I agree that on a 1-2 pitch the clear recipe was for a splitter, and he should not have shook off McCann. He admitted after the game he fucked up. He still pitched a great game, and the 355 foot jack by Napoli was not exactly the longest homer hit at Yankee Stadium this year.

BOYZZZ!

A real class act by Mike Napoli,...

"Mistake" pretty much equals "Stupid" Joe. In your link no one on the Yankees cares about what Napoli said. It seems the whole team agrees it was stupid.

He admitted after the game he fucked up.

Even Tanaka, everyone but Joe thought it was stupid.

Another save credited to Koji who now has an ERA of 1.19 and a WHIP of .717. Uehara would go on any AL All-Star manager's roster and even with Farrell managing the team no accusation of favoritism is possible, except by bitter Fanboys.

Congratulations to David Ortiz on his 450-foot 450th home run deep into the hearts of the entire city of New York. I guess Beav wont be complaining this one was short though he must know over the wall by an inch is as good as an Ortiz mile.

Congratulations to Mookie Betts who got his first hit, first walk, and first run all in his first game in front of Yankee fans.

DAMN, that Yankee pitching is good. Why can't we play them 162 games. :D

Curse of Joe.t lives forever!!!

It's gotten to the point where we should add him to all those bad luck signs. A black cat crossed my path...I broke a mirror...Joe.t said/guarantees it.

Have fun guys,

I hadn't even heard of Betances...He is the #2 WAR leader for a reliever. Since relievers pitch fewer innings they typically have a lower WAR than a starter. So that is why I added two relievers. I figure that most of the positions should go to a starters but we should hold open a few positions for the top 2 or 3 relievers.

Betances

Betances was one of the 3 "Killer Bs" (Banuelos, Betances, Brackman) that were highly touted Yankees prospects going back to 2009. He always had a great arm and great size (he is 6'8" 260 pounds and built like a Sherman Tank), but in the minors until this year, he struggled with his control. Apparently he had some breakthrough in spring training this year and has not looked back.

Yankees fans have known about him since around 2009, but it was not until this year that he finally developed. He looks like a different pitcher than in years past, when he really struggled to throw strikes. I think he made some mechanical adjustments and some of it was likely mental (lack of confidence). The stuff he has unleashed on a consistent basis this year is scary. I mean the guy has 76 strikeouts in 47 innings, a 0.74 WHIP and a 1.33 ERA. Sick stuff. The WHIP is the real surprise.

That's not really true, he was always big, and he always threw hard, the difference is his control got better which is why he has had success. Although his control was not so good tonight.

Closer - Sean Doolittle Athletics – 2.0

OK, so Sean Doolittle was the talk of MLB radio today. The announcers said that he should be the closer for the AL All-Star team. He had 56 strikeouts and 1 walk. So by virtue of his stats I put him on my All star squad

Tonight the Oakland A's took a 4-1 lead into the 9th at Comerica. Doolittle gave up two singles a walk and then RJ Davis hit a walk off Grand Slam. Tigers win in a walk off.

Did I jinx Doolittle or what?

McCann, Yankees more lucky than good

By Andrew Marchand, ESPN

NEW YORK -- Brian McCann has swung and missed a lot so far this season, but he got one thing right when he described his offensive performance in his first 81 games as a Yankee.

"Horrible," said McCann, who is batting .221 with nine homers and 36 RBIs.

His assessment came after another horrible, unwatchable game, one neither the Yankees nor the Rays really deserved to win, and a game McCann was right in the middle, going 1-for-5 with two strikeouts and failing again in the clutch.

The Yankees (41-40) have now played 81 games, and if the next 81 finish like the first, they will be an 82-80 club. With nearly a half-billion dollars spent on offseason reinforcements, that record is far from good enough.

Still, even after their seventh loss in nine games -- a tedious, offensively challenged, four-hour-and-35-minute, extra-inning 4-3 defeat to the last-place Rays -- the Yankees are just 2½ games behind the first-place Blue Jays.

Brian McCann said he has had a "horrible" season, and Monday's 1-for-5 night didn't help.
The leaders of this club are not disillusioned by their place in the standings. Echoing Brian Cashman's pre-loss comments, Joe Girardi admitted that they are more lucky than good.

"I think every team in this division probably feels that they are somewhat fortunate to be where they are with the records that have," Girardi said. "Being 41-40, you wouldn't necessarily think you would be right in the thick of it."

But the post- Mariano Rivera bullpen has been tremendous. Despite uneven results on Monday, you have confidence in Dellin Betances and David Robertson anchoring the pen.

The starting staff, held together by Masahiro Tanaka and some glue, has been good enough to fight through injuries to three-fifths of their staff.

Girardi pointed out they need a little more distance. But when you have Chase Whitley, Vidal Nuno and David Phelps each pitching every five days, you really can't be too picky.

While Cashman has vowed to do everything in his power to improve this club through a trade, the real antidote is for guys such as McCann and Carlos Beltran to do more -- and fast.

McCann arrived with rave reviews as a great clubhouse leader -- and perhaps that is the case behind closed doors. But what the media gets to see doesn't look like a guy who is particularly comfortable or happy in the big city after living and playing his entire life in Atlanta. Perhaps that will change with better results.

McCann seems to care a great deal, which can be a problem when a player receives a big contract. Sometimes they try to do more than they are capable of. McCann, who signed a five-year, $85 million contract in December, seems to be doing less and not particularly comfortable.

In the 10th inning Monday, he had a chance to send everyone home a lot earlier with a win. Derek Jeter singled to open the inning and stole second. With two outs, McCann was at the plate against Grant Balfour.

Sporting a 5.34 ERA on the season, Balfour has not been the closer the Rays thought they were signing last offseason. McCann struck out.

McCann isn't Robinson Cano -- nor should anyone expect him to be -- but he needs to slug better than .361. In McCann's career, he has slugged at a .467 clip.

Cashman can make some moves and perhaps they will help, but this offense needs to be stronger. The big imports this offseason -- McCann, Beltran and Jacoby Ellsbury -- have to lead them.

They are being paid huge money -- not to be lucky, but to be good.

BOYZZZ!

Cashman will come to the rescue and he will rock:

Some day you will have to explain what is in pinstriped juice that makes anyone forget how bad Cashman has been. It's funny how anyone can ignore the reasons why the Yanks are barely above .500 and have 1 World Series to the Red Sox 3 since 2001 and still believe the same method of exorbitant free agent spending without player development that caused these failures are the answer. Cashman the savior has already spent nearly half a $$$Billion$$$ to be 1 lousy game above .500. That's all he knows how to do and he's failed.

BTW: In the photo with your link it looks like Cashman had to shoot up or take some shots of Jack just to get the nerve to promote the same old lines of failure. But then the pressure is ONNNNN!!!

new-york-post-yankees.jpg

http://nesn.com/2012/10/new-york-po...ankees-with-we-dont-date-losers-cover-photos/

On Friday, the New York Post ripped Alex Rodriguez and the Yankees — who were swept out of the ALCS on Thursday night by the Detroit Tigers — by creating a cover that mocks the reported rumor of A-Rod hitting on women during a postseason game earlier this month.

This old 2012 headline by a New York paper ripping A-Rod and the Yankees shows just how much pressure Cashman is facing.

McCann, Yankees more lucky than good..." Girardi said. "Being 41-40, you wouldn't necessarily think you would be right in the thick of it."

What he is alluding to is it's a division that doesn't really have a good team that stands out or seems to be a real threat to take the Series, and yet the Yankees are still floundering and sinking. They have a failed system.

Ouch,

Merlot

Don't look now but I think Ricky Porcello just pitched his way onto the AL All-Star team.

He just pitched back-to-back complete game shutouts. The first Tiger to do it since Jack Morris did it in 1986.

Ricky beat the Rangers 6-0 with a 4 hitter last week and today he beat the Oakland A's 3-0 with a 3-hitter. He went the distance in both. He is unscored up in his last three games. His ERA is now south of 3 and he is tied with Tenaka with 11 wins.

He just made my All Star team.

JD Martinez, the Astro cast-off, hit another Hr.
