I’m hearing that the player they’re targeting is Jake Guentzel & that they’re willing to let Stamkos leave unless he agrees to sign a team-friendly deal.Yep....they need space/money for STAMKOS...ont libéré 8,5 M.

They want a hometown discount, but they aren't going to get it.I’m hearing that the player they’re targeting is Jake Guentzel & that they’re willing to let Stamkos leave unless he agrees to sign a team-friendly deal.
NHLTR is reporting that the primary suitors for Steven Stamkos will be the Detroit Red Wings and Nashville Predators, both of which have the significant cap space necessary to give Stamkos what he needs. I wouldn't totally discount the NY Rangers if they can move Trouba. The problem is the one team Trouba will waive his NTC for is Detroit, and Detroit doesn't want to help NYR free up cap space so they can bid against Detroit for Stamkos.I’m hearing that the player they’re targeting is Jake Guentzel & that they’re willing to let Stamkos leave unless he agrees to sign a team-friendly deal.
Plus he’ll once again be playing for a team where there’s no state tax to pay.Nashville Signs Stamkos, Marchessault and Skiej:
Preds make splash, sign Stamkos, Marchessault
The Nashville Predators, eliminated in Round 1 last season, shocked the NHL on Monday with a free agent binge that included superstar forward Steven Stamkos, former Conn Smythe winner Jonathan Marchessault and Carolina Hurricanes defenseman Brady Skjei.www.espn.com
As I predicted! Stamkos is going to be eating lots of hot chicken sandwiches, and listening to Garth Brooks!
I think LA signing Pierre-Luc Dubois & Calgary signing Jonathan Huberdeau was worse.Oilers Unconditionally Waive Campbell, Take Cap Hit
Campbell was, in a very short period of time, much like the Soup he is named for, cooked.Oilers waive Campbell with 3 years left on deal
Jack Campbell, who signed a 5-year, $25M deal with Edmonton in 2022, was put on unconditional waivers by the Oilers, who will take a $10.5M cap hit over six years.www.espn.com
This may go down as the worst free agent signing in the NHL in the last 10 years. And a very costly one. The lesson here might be to be very careful about spending a lot of FA money on a goalie.
I might just agree with you, only for the reason that when you look at Campbell's stats before he came to Edmonton, there was nothing that screamed out that he was going to crater like he did. Granted he did not have a lot of games played in the NHL based on his years in the league, but he was a highly drafted goalie who gave every indication to the Oilers he was about to come into his own based on recent seasons with the Maple Leafs. The contract looks epically bad in relation to the production Edmonton got in return for their investment, not so much based on Campbell's track record. Surely, all 3 of those contracts, in hindsight, look bad. Campbell did not even give Edmonton one good year of production, on a 5 year deal, and they pulled the plug on him after just 2. The Soup was thrown into the garbage, with the leftover beans from last week.I think LA signing Pierre-Luc Dubois & Calgary signing Jonathan Huberdeau was worse.
Canadian hockey players making a lot of money love their low tax jurisdictions!!!Plus he’ll once again be playing for a team where there’s no state tax to pay.
Of course Bettman waited for the season to end & all teams all set with their coaches & GM. Had he freed them a month ago they quickly would have been hired. Toronto might have went with Q instead of Chief. Bowman could have got the Columbus GM job.Quenneville, 2 Others Reinstated to NHL Effective July 10; The Ban Is Over
Ex-Blackhawks execs reinstated from NHL ban
The NHL will allow three Chicago Blackhawks executives to seek employment in the league after being banned in October 2021 after an independent investigation into how they handled a sexual assault allegation in 2010.www.espn.com
