Denver Mayor Michael Hancock encourages everyone to stay safe for Thanksgiving and stay inside. He issued a tweet for all residents to hold a virtual Thanksgiving and to shop on line for Black Friday and then he got on a plane and flew home to Mississippi to be with family.

Rules for thee and not for me:

Earlier, I was very critical of the 40 California Lawmakers that that flew to Hawaii for a two week conference. With hat in hand, I apologize for my short sightedness. I just read this article. The CA lawmakers needed to sequester themselves to make new laws and policies that will bring the State of California back from this pandemic. The one law maker interviewed wore a mask while in Hawaii and practiced social distancing.

As well-meaning as Borgeas, Bigelow and the others may have been, in this instance, the optics are primary because their constituents are struggling under the limitations caused by the pandemic.

Borgeas, Bigelow and the rest aren’t the first elected leaders who create an exception for themselves; sadly, that is routine lawmaker behavior. But it has to be said: Their constituents expect better

Supreme court rules in favor of religion. God bless Amy Coney Barrett. I'm not big on religion, especially because of the sins I commit every time I cross the border! But now, at least in NY, people can go back to church as freely as if they wanted to go to a bar or get a lap dance at a strip club. It actually took the supreme court to set Lord Governor Cuomo straight.

God bless, and Happy Thanksgiving!

So Trump Supreme Court nominees will contribute to the Covid 19 pandemy.
Excellent decision !

Yup judge Amy is doing the Lords bidding alright .
God brought this plague on humankind to punish it because of the way it abused nature.
Now ACB and her cohorts are allowing the most extreme " believers to congregate indoors , mask less, and by the thousands, to spread God`s will

Why is it ok to go out and protest or riot or celebrate the outcome of the election? But everyone that goes to church is spreading the pandemic? Oh don’t worry, the state forces the churchgoers to wipe down the pews even though it makes no difference because this is respiratory illness but they still have to go through the motions. They shut down outdoor dining when the data says that outdoor dining is not a significant contributor to the spread. NY closed the schools when the contagious rate was <0.2%.

Why do they do this? It’s all to show that they’re doing something. BTW - this is the same way these same idiots will approach global warming...with virtue signaling and feel good measures that will make no significant impact on anything but your bank account.

What you Amy Comey Barrett haters clearly don't get is that the Supreme Court is simply giving houses of worship the same rights as a strip club, bar, or gym. Hate all you want, but for states to shut down houses of worship and let strip clubs, bars, and gyms remain open is wrong. The supreme court isn't adding to the Covid problem, quite the opposite. They are simply telling NY'ers to follow the same rules as everybody else. There's no reason for a church to be treated differently. Having your cock grinded on by a masked stripper is ok, but sitting 6 feet away from someone praying in a church pew is against the rules? What is wrong with everybody. But the haters and fear mongers are gonna hate and scare you. So the members not reading the article or understanding it will simply throw out the negative unfounded covid bullshit and not get the point.

I had to laugh. If big Gretchen knocked on my door I’d say we are getting together to celebrate racial justice, Rosa Parks, and Martin Luther King.

Huge respect to Justice Barrett, well done! It feels as though sane adults are finally in charge of the Supreme Court, even if by a small majority.

Look behind you.
And then there is the other side to lockdowns and forever lost jobs.

Sorry but I do not agree with this. The whole fucking world is doing business on Zoom and Churches and Mosques and Temples can't? Strip clubs, bars and gyms can't do online. Houses of worship can. What you are saying is it is OK for a bunch of 70 plus year old technophobes to foist their lazy ass way of doing business down on the rest of the country. It's total bullshit and the vote was 5-4 (with Roberts, the one sane Justice, in the minority) only because Trump succeeded in stacking the Court. We need to have a few of the old technophobes who embrace 20th Century business methods die, so that new blood can be brought in, plain and simple.

I am sorry but God is OK with online services during Covid pandemic and if you say otherwise you are saying God is fucking STOOPID and are guilty of blasphemy 1st Degree.

I never heard of Zoom before March and now all of my business is on Zoom and you are telling me these neanderthals cannot adapt like I did? Sorry- neanderthals need to have happen to them just what happened the real neanderthals- EVOLUTION LEFT THEM BEHIND!

And even my GF who goes to a Pentecostal Church every Sunday agrees with me!!!! Because she understands technology and knows that God does too!

Have no issues with Amy B or any of the conservative judges Trumpy placed on bench. Never saw this as a political or religious issue, more of a public health one.

Beav,

This is probably my second favourite posting of 2020. Right behind Rose D telling you F’ers to wash your assholes.......

Absolutely! Kudos to Roberts, the last bastion of sanity. But why did he vote only 4 times? Didn't he realize that wasn't enough to win? Surely he could do 6 or better 12? Hopefully next time he does a better job than that.

Which one is Roberts again? Is he the chief? Isn’t he a conservative?

Couldn't agree with her more. With our modern technology, who the hell needs that musty old Constitution and the so-called Bill of Rights? All that crap was put together by a bunch of white slave owners, all male needless to say. Supremacy Clause, my foot. To the ash heap of history!

I think you misunderstood my post. He is the one sane Justice and has been a key vote in many recent decisions that went 5-4 the other way, all of which were correct, but he was in the minority, meaning he was one of 4 dissenters.
