I do think however that Canadians are reacting with more concern and perhaps isolating themselves better.
You don’t see scenes like the Florida beaches where people seem to be so nonchalant about this.

If it was summer in Canada now do you think you would see the 20 somethings out on the beaches? As far as I know there are no beaches open in Canada today. I don't believe a young Canadian and a young American are that different in outlook.

Also, Gal Gadot is latest celebrity posting on twitter to get backlash. She was trying to be helpful with posting a supportive video including a rendition of "Imagine" with her Hollywood celebrity friends. Yet many questioned why rich people should be singing a song about "Imagine no possessions, I wonder if you can" while so many normal people are losing their income.

GaryH I was thinking the same thing. If there were open beaches in Canada this would be happening as well. Also, I hope that Fradi is right about Canadians reacting with more concern, this will reduce the overall positives and thus save lives. The next couple of weeks will tell us all a lot.

GaryH,

You have a point, and you may be correct.
However, I still believe that Canadians in general are a bit more polite and have a slightly deeper social conscience towards each other.
Perhaps they also have less of a bravado attitude of invincibility than our American neighbours.

I do hope in the end that the youth of both countries take this as serious as it is because the figures coming out today is that it is affecting many in the 20-55 age bracket as well so it is not that they are not ending up in ICU and it is not just deadly for the elderly and the sick.

Maybe we just tend to worry and panic more.

When I went grocery shopping Tuesday at Big Y, the cashier was very careful not to touch my hands when she gave me my change back. It later occurred to me that we all should be avoiding cash transfers whenever possible.

The main grocery store in my area has implemented a 'no cash' policy. They don't want their employees to be touching any money so customers are required to use their debit or credit cards to pay. I'm quite aware that there are many people who have neither so i'm not sure how they pay for their groceries.

A far cry from the numbers in the States (727 vs. 9500+).

That is obvious and means nothing. This is because the US population is ten times that of Canada.

US Population 2018: 327.2 million
Canada Population 2019: 37.59 million

It is logical the US will have more see the huge difference in population.

These chest thumping notions of Canadian exceptionalism are nonsense. Every country has its pro rate share of rude, polite, socially conscientious and those filled with bravado. Ethnocentric notions of superiority or inferiority really have no place in this discussion, it’s no better than blaming Chinese people for the virus because they have an obsession with eating exotic foods, another, very similar piece of nonsense floated earlier in this same thread.

Chinese people should definitely not be blamed, in the collective sense - but Chinese regulation absolutely can and should be blamed.

I agree completely.

As I wrote before it will take much time to change these Chinese behaviors. It's like banning guns americains or banning native of fishing and hunting... It can be done but do not expect that it will be quick or easy.

As far as I know no one on this thread was blaming Chinese people. There were some , me included, blaming Wet Markets in China and South east Asia . Several pandemics have started in wet markets. This one according to Chinese experts and genetic researchers, started in a wet market in Wuhan with a bat. A guy was handling the bat in preparation for a delicious bowl of bat soup .

I certainly haven’t blamed the Chinese or anyone, the fact that you take offence is fine by me.
I have travelled and lived all over the world and yes there is a difference and you have bad and good, polite people in every nationality.
Even in the states I would say on average southerners are much more polite and hospitable on average than people form New York City and Boston.

Same goes for people in Paris they are rude and hate visitors while people in the countryside are fabulous.
If you haven’t noticed this ever then you either haven’t travelled much or are not very observant.

I will stick with the fact that we Canadians are known throughput the world as being a more polite and easy going people.
Ever heard the phrase “ Ugly American” repeated all over the world.
Before you start accusing me of bashing Americans I have never done that and half my family are Americans and I have a ton of wonderful friends there, I have been going to Florida every winter for the past 30 years, so I am not reading this in a book.

I'm truly amazed that people are still visiting providers.

I certainly see your point. I also can't believe there are providers at this time as well. I know almost all the girls in Shanghai and Beijing went on sabbatical. Only a very small fraction have begun to return. I guess sometimes the itch becomes too great.

The clients are also more rare for the girls in Montreal.
I was texting with a good friend earlier today (SP from an agency) and she told me that she saw only a few clients(5) in 3 days….and she's hot!

Im sorry but I don’t understand how people can still meet SP and MP and i don’t understand how those girl are still working. I’m not sure if you guys understand how this is serious. Like to be honest I had to close my compagny because I import product from China. I was in China few month ago when it start there and I had to leave because I was getting dangerous. This is a serious crisis ! First if you guys have tu virus you will give it to those poor girl. If the girl has it you will expose yourself and get it. I’ve got a lot a girlfriend that are SP and they all stop working. Like for real guys for a couple of week kelp your hand on your cock and stop seeing girl. Anyway if your stool meeting SP you guys are stupid. Penthouse and adagio close because they understand this. If the owner of the major agency were intelligent they would not but there staff at risk and close !
