Africa , Africa , Africa...
Patron , I would guess that you know Africa is a continent of 54 countries , therefore , which specific countries do you have in mind for the testing/compensation thing ?

Just strikes me as a very slow process for a disease that has a 0-2 percent mortality rate (no one knows for sure, but personally I think it is in the lower end of the range) if the vaccination doesn’t work.

And I know this is cold, but a 0-2 percent chance of mortality is different for someone living in Montreal, New York City, or Madrid in comparison to Syria and war-torn parts of Africa. People in those places might laugh and say a 0-2 percent chance of dying is like a lazy Sunday morning.
.

Dude wtf are you talking about 0-2% mortality, lol!!!! Wtf are you reading?????? Where the fuck r u getting these #’s from? It may be higher than what it is now because China is suppressing shit.

Again, where the fuck are you getting 0-2% mortality? You were the one who said “I suspect the mortality rate will decrease once it hits the 1st world health care.” Dude it’s gone up above 2%

yea, I’m not reading anymore of your articles. After that article where Gilead was denying that patient remdesivir and you rambling on about plaquenil and zpaks, doesn’t look like you even read your own shit

Ok, on a different note, i volunteered at IGA to help out with deliveries, the manager thought i wanted a job and asked me to fill out an employment form, i told him hey, i dont want to get a paycheck, just want to help, if i have to use my own car ok, then ill take a gas allowance but i dont want a paycheck, i have a job that i will be returning to too, he said i have to get paid, i dont understand, I AM VOLUNTEERING, does the word volunteer mean something different here in Quebec?

Patron , your 0 - 2% is misleading and so far not factual.
Its obviously not 0% and so far only 1 country has been in the .05% range .
The vast majority of countries are in the 1.5 to 5% range. That percent should go down though after more testing is done.
I would guess that the end game will see a 2% mortality rate of those infected. Most will be elderly and with underlying health issues....but some will be healthy under 50 years old….its Russian roulette.

Cloudy that % is gonna go down when treatment and more ventilators become available. The mortality rate has to do with pathogen and it’s affects on overburdening health care systems 1st world and developing world. When a vaccine, and more treatment options come into play that’s when it will diminish. In the USA and U.K., there are a considerable amount of maybe not deaths but young men with no co-morbidities in the hospital and even occupying critical care units. Don’t think it’s a disease of the elderly and vulnerable only

Thor, thank you for volunteering!

my neighbors dropped off a box of surgical masks and N-95 masks for me a few days ago. I thought that was wonderful. They are Chinese FYI

Thor you can volunteer for a non-profit organization but a for profit company has to pay you by law.....you can always donate the money you make to charity.

Thor...may be for legal reasons they need you to be an employee as you will be delivering on their behalf, especially so perhaps since they are not a not for profit entity that could otherwise have volunteers / unpaid help. BTW, my "law degree" comes from watching TV...;).

Thor I think its because IGA is not a charity or an org that helps people in need, and is an actual work place. if you want to do deliveries for orgs that help people then you would not need to get paid is my understanding

It's all about insurance. If you hurt yourself or if someone sue you because you hurt someone then the IGA is in deep shit.

You can volunteer at local food bank.

Local foods banks are great but also Churches as they have a network of people who are/know elderly or at risk people who need help especially at this time. I have been doing this for the past two weeks...picking up (from food banks or grocery stores) and delivering food to those people enlightening to see these people and makes you appreciate what you have.

BOYSZ!

There's a lot to take in consideration on the number of deaths.
# of Cases, Infection rate / propagation, Health care system ability to provide proper care and equipment, etc.
I believe that if the health care system doesn't have the ventilators to support the recovery stage, your survival rate is slim. Meaning people that are infected and need the support to pass the critical stage are where the nerve of the war is. If they are left on their own the death rate will grow.
If you have 1M infected person, 100K of them need vital support within a week and you health care system can only support 10K, the 90K people that aren't helped will face death.
The number will grow when the system can't support the infected one. This Corona-virus is highly infectious. It's not the regular flu where you might have a chance to get away.

Dr. Drew is an American and medical expert and his show is followed by many Americans. So these comments on the coronavirus have an impact.
Here is a video of these words:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SKlJlQadZtE

I am happy to live in Quebec, because we don't have Dr. Drew, and I prefer not to speak of Trump because I don't have words strong enough to speak of this narcissistic man.

Luckily, he just apologized for his comments.
Unfortunately it is too late, the damage is done.

Indeed. Shark's quiet here since post #23.

So many took the whole thing "a la Trump" and were in denial... That is what success can do to you in life. It makes you think you are invincible.

Like this stupid billionaire Rosenberg who went on with the wedding of his daugther march 16... Now fighting to stay alive.

Sharkman has not posted in a while and I would be concerned he might have Covid-19 and is in a hospital. I am not really sure but he may be single and not have anyone checking on him. Perhaps one of you guys in Montreal who know him can call him or take a run by his home and check on him. I live alone myself, and if I caught C-19 and took a fast turn for the worse I would prefer that my neighbors not be the ones to find me dead. It would probably be my legal assistant. She would be the first one to text me if I did not show up at work or did not send her an assignment, and after getting no response to her texts, she would probably be the one to find me dead (just guessing but good odds that she would be the one).

I figure that Boris Johnson's condition got worse since he's been absent during the daily briefing by the UK government. His 32 year old girlfriend, who is pregnant with their child, has also tested positive for Covid19.

What fake news. It's certainly is not anymore.

Today, NYT is reporting:

https://www.nytimes.com/2020/04/05/...action=click&module=Spotlight&pgtype=Homepage

"LONDON — Prime Minister Boris Johnson was hospitalized on Sunday evening after 10 days of battling the coronavirus, unnerving a country that had gathered to watch Queen Elizabeth II rally fellow Britons to confront the pandemic and reassure them that when the crisis finally ebbed, “we will meet again.”

The British government said that Mr. Johnson would be undergoing tests and that he would continue to carry out his duties.

But the uncertainty generated by his persistent illness underscored the sense of crisis that led the queen to address the country in a rare televised speech that evoked the darkest days of World War II."
