Coronavirus

Fauci knew that masks work even when he told the public that they don`t.
He was trying to save the existing limited supply for health care workers.
China was buying up the world`s supply and Fauci was afraid of a toilet paper type run on masks by the public.
This was a hard decision with no good ending.
Now that there are enough masks everyone is encouraged to wear one by Fauci and every sane person. Only fools and those with a political agenda, don`t follow the science.

The U.S. is still a (relatively) free country, so Biden is certainly within his right to share his immense wisdom with whoever is interested to listen to the old fart. As one can deduce from reading this thread, some people apparently are.

The old I only lied to protect you and it was for the good of everyone concerned.
It has a tendency to come back and bite you in the ass.
He stood along side of Trump many times and you could see it on his face that he was cringing at some of the things being said yet like a good little bobble head doll Fauci several times stepped up to the plate and nodded his approval.
I stopped having any kind of respect for him after that.

Fauci lies about wearing masks but is given a pass and a new job at the Whitehouse. The president downplays the virus to prevent panic in the streets and it’s impeachment part 2.

The country has had enough of both of them. I think Fauci continuing in his role is a mistake. Washington is cleaning house, so they should clean house and let Fauci go back to his private practice. His over exposure and daily cable news interviews are played out. Biden is not clever enough to find someone new so maybe he can bring back someone from the Obama administration like all of his “original” cabinet picks.

It’s ok for kids to go to school again. Now quick. Get to school before he changes his mind again.

If you believe that that's why he downplayed the virus, then I have some great land in Florida to sell you. PM me.

Did we see panic in the streets in other places where the leaders were more honest?

Is he not from opposition party to JT?

You downplay on my comment but you have nothing to say about it yourself. None of the leaders were more honest. If they were, I’m sure you would have posted about it. The more important part of my post was about Fauci and that’s where I drew my comparison from. But you chose to miss my point entirely with a cute, witty comment about selling me a property in Florida.

I still have that property if you're interested.

For 1 example, see: Germany.

I haven't posted more about it, or other leaders and their reactions because... why would I? I'm not as sure as you are that I would have posted about it.

Again, completely missing my original point which had nothing to do with what your talking about.

Covid Was Hiding Among Colds and Flus
Too much focus on Washington and magic fixes has impeded grass-roots adaptation.

i believe most of this and would like to believe all of this but I don't. It bothers me when 'journalists' quote studies but dont inlcude references (or links). The tipoff is talking about HCQ as an option...that has been debunked so many times...

I am sure if you have a pulse you have seen it by now- the now legendary debate on Friday on live TV between Andrew Ross Sorkin and Rick Santelli. My question to you guys is, who was the winner?

(a) Sorkin, by unanimous decision
(b) Santelli, by unanimous decision
(c) Draw
(d) Split decision to Sorkin
(e) Split decision to Santelli

The now viral debate starts at the 1:30 mark of the video, although you may want to listen to Santelli's opening remarks before the fireworks start:

Is anyone else sick of the phrase “the new normal?” I am and so is Spiked columnist Brendan O’Neill:

Down with the New Normal

Who wants to live in a nerdy world of no handshakes and no big sweaty crowds?

www.spiked-online.com

...what we are witnessing in all the talk of the new normal is an intensification of trends that have been apparent for quite a while. From safe sex to safe spaces on campus, from the depiction of a boozy come-on as a threat to one’s physical safety to the growing cult of germophobia, the elitist insistence that other people are a threat has been around for some time. Other people’s words will hurt you; sex with them could kill you; their wolf-whistle on the street is a dagger to the heart of your self-esteem. So you had better hide in this safe space that forcefields you from disagreeable ideas, always wear a condom, and phone the police if a stranger tells you you look fit. Misanthropic suspicion of others has been the meat of public-heath agitation and the political class’s nanny statism for years — the Covid crisis is merely taking it all to the next level.

Looks like Covid-19 vaccines made in America will be prioritized for Americans first:

Trump to sign coronavirus vaccine executive order prioritizing Americans over foreign nations

EXCLUSIVE: President Trump is expected to sign an executive order Tuesday that will ensure all Americans have access to the coronavirus vaccine before the U.S. government begins aiding nations around the world, Fox News has learned.

More good news for Americans. Trump will use the Defense Production Act if needed for vaccine distribution:

While seeking credit for vaccine, Trump says he may invoke Defense Production Act

U.S. President Donald Trump said on Tuesday he would invoke the Defense Production Act if needed to ensure Americans are first in line for domestically produced coronavirus vaccines at a summit designed to give him and his team credit for speedy vaccine development.

[Fradi]

This of course should endear Americans to the rest of the world.
On the one hand it is understandable on the other it will not make them a good citizen with the rest of the world.
Not one country likes to see their citizens dying waiting in line for a life saving drug.

[IamNY]

The world already hates Americans so there’s no love lost there. I think this is more of the ongoing fight that Trump has had with big pharmaceutical companies and it’s his way to prevent American companies to have their vaccine going to the highest bidder instead of Americans First. Being an American I’m certainly not going to look negatively at getting vaccinated first. But I could certainly see a company like Pfizer trying to focus on their profits first and not giving a shit about Americans.

[Zaeballo]

No need to worry, with Biden it will likely be Americans last.

[Fradi]

Not a big issue we will just get the Sputnik V, perhaps it will not only protect you but you may grow an extra dick in the process.
If it is good enough for Putin’s daughter we shouldn’t worry.
