Here's a website that is trying to track down Karla http://www.whereiskarla.com/

The latest info is that they say they know her address and are checking on the legality of posting it.

Flinstone,

It could be an interesting experience if you check her for weapons before hand. You'll have to do a cavity search.

The only thing I want to know about this movie is if we get to see Laura Prepon naked. :D

Movies about real life serial killers are quite common. There was even one about Clifford Olsen the serial child killer. I can't remember any of them causing this kind of uproar. Compared to most of these mass murderers, Karla is a girlscout.

I trust Homolka is not making any money from this?

Does Canada have a law similar to the one in the US that prohibits convicted criminals from profiting off of their crimes?

I once saw a reenactment of the Salem Witch Trials which utilized professional actors and the dialogue was based on actual trial transcripts. Absolutely fascinating. Really one of the dark chapters in American history.

Actually i think we have the same kind of law here that prevents profiting from crimes. If I'm not mistaken it was brought in when Clifford Olson tried to blackmail the gov't for money to reveal where his victims bodies were burried.
I could be wrong though. I have been before.:p

Did you know that no witches were burned in Salem? They were executed by hanging. Just a bit of useless information I picked up. I used to have a book with all the names of those who were tried as witches and who was convicted or cleared. I loaned it to someone who never returned it. So I put a curse on him.

Techman,

Several dogs were also hanged because they were looking at the townspeople in a way that was perceived as bewitching.

However, not all of the accused witches were hanged. One of the accused was crushed to death with rocks that were placed on a board on top of his body. He was given a chance to confess and refused. The rocks were then piled on top of the board on his body.

Yes it would have. If he had confessed they would have hanged him. Quicker way to die.:D

Guys,

There is more to the story with the guy who was crushed by rocks than what I wrote above (and I don't remember all of it, except that he owned a lot of prime land in Salem and there was a hope that if he confessed, title would escheat, if I remember correctly, and then one of the judges somehow would have acquired title to the properties). If you guys ever have a chance to go to Salem (which is not far from Boston), and I highly recommend it, go to the museums there and you will learn a lot more.

BTW, Halloween in Salem is like Grand Prix weekend in Montreal. The town is overrun by Halloween groupies, and all of the local merchants stay in business until 1 or 2 days after Halloween. The museums are staffed by cute college girls who go to school in the Boston area.

I watched an interesting movie last night called 'Zero Day'. It's a documentary-style movie strongly based on the Columbine killings. I only found out this afternoon through hard research that the movie is fictional. Many people i know believe that the two teenagers in the movie were actual murderers who filmed everything leading up to the event. I learned a lot about weapons and how to make/modify them while watching that movie. Makes you think....

If anyone wants to see another good movie based loosely on Columbine I suggest "Elephant." It delves a bit more into the character of the two murderers and the victims as well. Its very disturbing to say the least.

As for Homolka I was wondering if the director of this new film about her had possibly enlisted her for help as to details about the killings or motives/mindset behind them and paid her a consulting fee. A sick thing to do but you never know. In the US I believe any such money would be automatically given to a "victims fund."

She's back....

After remaining out of public view for the last several months, Karla is back in the public eye. I don't know whether to feel sorry for her or glad that she is getting what she deserves. Maybe a little of both. Click the article link to read the full article and see her photo.

Global reporter tracks down Karla Homolka

MONTREAL -- Karla Homolka has resurfaced.

The notorious sex killer has not been seen in public since last summer, when a Toronto Sun reporter found her working in a hardware store in Longueuil.

But her brief spell out of the spotlight is over.

As she walked out of her east-end apartment just after 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Homolka was greeted by a Global television reporter who has been keeping tabs on her since Christmas...

More on the latest Karla sighting from the Toronto Sun:

Spotted with blond hair on street
By ALAN CAIRNS, TORONTO SUN

Schoolgirl killer Karla Homolka has resurfaced in Montreal -- looking just like the Karla of old.

Almost a year since she went into hiding -- after the Toronto Sun found her working at a Longueuil hardware store last summer -- Homolka was filmed by a Global TV crew as she walked along a Montreal street yesterday.

Homolka's adopted look -- blond hair tied back in a ponytail -- closely resembles the one she sported in 1993 when she was sentenced to 12 years in prison for her part in the deaths of Kristen French, 15, Leslie Mahaffy, 14, and her youngest sister, Tammy Homolka, 15.

Homolka, wearing a white blouse and blue jeans, appeared unfazed as a Global TV crew pushed a camera close to her face and asked her how her last year in Montreal had been.

She slowly and calmly put on a pair of dark sunglasses, turned her head and walked away...
