you seriously DO NOT understand much about hockey , do you?

your first sentence was ridiculous. everything in between is pure speculation, and your last sentence was just plain dumb, but i have grown to expect nothing less from scabs fans these days,,,,,,, so, carry on
Doc,

''Character player & a good presence in the dressing room'', ''hometown boy'' mean fuck all if a player can't perform on ice.

Wayne Primeau was imposed (read ''dumped'') on Toronto because Calgary had no use for a $1.4M washed-out, penalty-prone, centerman who can't score to save his life. Primeau is a liability and will put a heavy burden on the Leafs penalty killing unit . The good news for Toronto is he can't play more than 30 games per season on average and will turn UFA on July 1st 2010.

So, basically, Burke sent off two young NHL-tested players, one he had just acquired from Atlanta, for a Calgary reject and a mystery 2011, 2nd round draft pick who might or might not shine in the NHL sometime between 2014 and 2017.

Only goes to show that Burke has given up on the Leafs' chances of winning anything short term and has little faith in his staff to develop young prospects.

i hope your right about 2 of the 3....... Dominic and Alex, or even one of them would be a nice boost to the offense..... look how well Blake played when he and Moore were linemates late in the season before Moore was dealt.....

.

Who's next on Burkie's list? Dominic Moore? Maxim Afinogenov? Alex Tanguay?

sooooooooo typical, run and hide lil scabs fan, when you cant compete...... i must say this is the first offseason in years that the Leafs have done so much to scare all the fans of Le Canadien, good stuff... Burke if nothing else, is trying to give the fans a competitive team and build for the future while gainey is clueless

Note to self: don't engage in discussion with retards.

Brutal trade for the Maple Losers. Maybe that over-rated windbag Burke thought it was 2000 and he was getting Wayne Primeau, not Keith. Why give up on two promising prospects (especially a skilled player like Stralman, considered to be a long term Kaberle replacement and hailed by Laff fans as the next Lidstrom) for a retread, fourth line pylon that had a grand total of 6 goals over the last three seasons and a career -94. For Buffoon #2, let me help you with the math, that’s equal to an average of two goals per season. Primeau is injury plagued and at the end of his career and makes almost $1M more than the league minimum – which is almost $1M too much. Since Calgary is likely to have a good season in 2010/11; the pick will be a low second rounder in a weak 2011 draft. By bringing in slugs like May, Orr and Primeau, the Laffs are getting more penalty prone, older, less skilled (not that they were a skilled team to begin with), and slower.

Tanguay

I think Tanguay would be a huge addition to the Leafs offense, HUGE, well if he stays healthy but in any sport you take your chances with injury, i say try to sign him if at all possible..... how much $ does Burke have left and what would it take to sign Alex?

we dont need Bertuzzi, and i doubt Lang would interest Burke unless he comes very very cheap, you have no idea at all what Robert Lang your getting after that kind of injury at his age, i doubt Burke even has much or any interest in him

The paper said this morning that the best offer he has is 1.2 mil compared to 5.375 mil that he made w/ Montreal last year. Whoops, free agency might not be good for him.

The Habs also gave up on Beauchemin, whom they drafted, and Stephane Robidas who was invited to team Canada tryouts.

The only reason why we remember the past mistakes made by the Leafs is because everyone realizes that the Leafs are Canada's team & the most famous franchise in the NHL & among one of the most popular in all of sports.

Doc since you haven't flip flopped much in the last year I have to stop referring to you as the John Kerry of MERB but with this hilarious bullshit that reeks all the way down the 20 right up to my office door in QC, I now have to start calling you the Rush Limbaugh of MERB. :p

There's no doubt in my mind you firmly believe that if you keep repeating the same crap long enough no matter how ridiculous, eventually some feeble minded people will believe it. :D

Hummm... come to think of it, there is one poster around here who does so maybe you're right. :(
