The Habs also gave up on Beauchemin, whom they drafted, and Stephane Robidas who was invited to team Canada tryouts.

The Canadiens have had their share of bonehead moves but I'm pretty sure they lost Robidas like Tomas Vokoun and Ron Hainsey to an expansion draft where they could only protect a limited number of players.

10-19 ......

in case you did not realise it, the Leafs have a Surplus of Blue Liners, and Stralman was one of the lowest rated of them all, not that he's not a good player, only time will tell, but what Burke has said since day one and was hired for was to make Toronto better right away and into a Cup contender a few years from now. the 2nd round pick is basically what he was looking for , and if Primeau can have a decent yr then thats a plus, BUT Stralman wasnt gonna see much if any action as a Leaf this season anyways, barring several injuries ....... another good move for Burke and the rebuilding process

and the Past is the Past...... Burke has made some great decisions since he's been with the Leafs, hired some great hockey people behind the scenes and since July1 has added some quality players. So far are the Leafs better than last years team?, i think most hockey people would say yes, of course habs fans will never agree, but no one really values what a SCABS fan has to say..... :D

and i have this sneaking suspicion that ole' Burkie isnt quite done yet this offseason, :)

wait and see but i have a feeling there is more coming soon

Stralman was regarded as a promising young defenseman yet was traded for a much faded and injured Wayne Primeau who will likely retire at the end of this season unless some team picks him up at a much discounted price. That's a typical Leafs move, one among so many more in the past that contributes to the team's lack of performance.

Now in a city like Mtl (if you live there)where there are soooooooooooooo many beautifull women, "why oh why" do you insist on putting your FOOT in your mouth when there are much nicer things? :p

Never did i say Primeau would make Toronto a cup contender, nor did i say that they would be a contender this year as well....... learn to READ buddy..... it does a mind good,... again, Burke got what he was really after, the draft pick, for a player that would be in the minors most of the season, and SLOWLY just for you Pal, lol..... "if Primeau has a decent season, then it is a plus, or a bonus" essentially the trade was for the future, now is this too much for a Scabs fan to understand?

And grabbing Primeau would be part of making TO a Cup contender??? LMAO! By the time the Leafs get anywhere close to the Cup, Wayne Primeau will be 161 years old and Toronto will be occupied by Poland. :D

Look, Primeau is no help to the Leafs long term, short term, any term. Sutter basically imposed Primeau on Burke (kind of Sutter telling Burke: Fine, you get my second round pick but you have to take Primeau). Good for the Leafs fans if the team pull itself from mediocrity. Quite often, good coaching could turn a so-so team on paper into a good team on ice - we shall see.

As it stands, I don't see much leafs fans can cheer about. Good luck.

It was a bonehead move because instead of protecting Robidas they elected to protect Karl Dykhuis,Ron Hainsey and Francis Bouillon instead.

Your Darryl Sittler comment may well indicate that you've been drinking. He never played for Vancouver. He was actually traded to Philadelphia and, as far as being, as you say, finished, he recorded 178 points in 191 games as a Flyer, and then added one last season in Detroit before retiring and going on to the Hall of Fame.

Buffoon #1 must have confused Darryl Sittler with Dave “Tiger” Williams (who did go to Vancouver)

You better tell that to this Leafs fan, one that actually seems to have a functionning brain: :D

"What a joke trade this is... i thought the youth movement was the way to go forward. Stralman was the only other 'pure' potential puck moving d-man we had on the depth chart.
Burke, you may have just traded away a long-term kaberle replacement for a 2nd round pick that probably wont play until 2014."

BAWK BAWK BAWK!!!!!!!! ROFL!!!!!!!!!!!!/..................... "chicken scabs fan" no faith in his team bwahahahahaahahah! :D:D:D

I think Buffoon #2 has been robbed by the education system. The "No Child Left Behind" legislation has clearly failed buffoon #2 who never even made it to the starting line. :(

Doc since you haven't flip flopped much in the last year I have to stop referring to you as the John Kerry of MERB but with this hilarious bullshit that reeks all the way down the 20 right up to my office door in QC, I now have to start calling you the Rush Limbaugh of MERB. :p

There's no doubt in my mind you firmly believe that if you keep repeating the same crap long enough no matter how ridiculous, eventually some feeble minded people will believe it. :D

Hummm... come to think of it, there is one poster around here who does so maybe you're right. :(

Dumb & Dumber :D
