We are talking about Corey Kluber of the Cleveland Indians!!!!!...striking out 18...or am I missing something!

http://www.cleveland.com/tribe/index.ssf/2015/05/cleveland_indians_st_louis_car_5.html

Pineda of the Yankees also had a very impressive showing 4 days before by striking out 16 Orioles over 7 innings.

http://www.latimes.com/sports/sport...michael-pineda-strikeouts-20150510-story.html

You are correct. The Orioles struck out 18 times that game. Pineda struck out 16 in 7 innings. I did not know about Kluber's game.

If Kluber pitched 117 pitches and Franconia took him out, I agree with Franconia. That is reaching the upper limit. He wouldn't break the record unless he struck out all 3 batters in the ninth. He would tie the record with 2 others if he struck out 2. At 117 pitches, I say that is unlikely.

The Metsies got swept in Wrigley
Missing a healthy David Wright for sure...:(

Not quite there yet, but the young pitching looks promising

Best Regards

The Cubs are 19-15 in second place in the NL Central. They are improved.

There is a parity among teams that has not been present in baseball for a long time. It is going to be a competitive race for many divisions.

It was a 2-1 until the 6th. Pineda was off the mark during those first 5 innings even though the score was close as he was pitches were too high in the zone and KC having the best offense (most runs scored( in the AL turned on those pitches. Yes, those Rogue Hosers lost another game.

Jorgie Posada trashes ex-teammates saying that ARoid & Clemens DO NOT belong in the Hall of Fame and ARoid cost him the MVP in 2003...really Jorgie, you really think you would have won the MVP? Hahahaha.

Ouch!!!!

Well, it is likely that the players who have the stats to get into the Hall of Fame and have been tied to steriods by testing or other evidence like Barry Bonds, Sammy Sosa, Mark McGwire, Roger Clemens, Manny Ramirez, Jason Giambi, David Ortiz, Alex Rodriguez will never get into the Hall of Fame. So Posada is stating an opinion that is shared by the baseball writers who vote for the Hall of Fame. So far, Bonds has been on the ballot for 3 years. He's gotten just half the votes needed for admission into the Hall. It will be a long time before he will get admission, if ever. The steroid era is a black mark on the sport, and I don't think that is going to change anytime soon.

Sabathia pitches second good game in a row

CC Sabathia pitched a good game against the defending AL champs Kansas City Royals last night, giving up 1 ER, 6 Hits in 7 innings, as the Yanks won 5-1. Arod hit his 10th HR of the season. Maybe CC is back on track?

The Rogue Hosers won against the struggling Seattle Mariners. Robbie Cano is not having a great season so far. You would think because he bats in front of Nelson Cruz, the hottest bat in the majors, pitchers would give Cano better pitches to hit. But Cano is struggling. I suspect it is a slump, and his numbers will improve once he works out of it.

MAYBE NOT!!!! Sabathia sucks a big fat dick today! As do the Br0nx B0mbers losing 9 out of their last 10...Peeeeeeuuuuuu, something sure stinks in the Br0nx, oh yea, that's just the Br0nx!!!!! Bwwwaaahhhh!!!

Welcome back CheeseburgerCheeseburger, we missed ya!!!

Sure has been quiet without the daily updates from the Br0nx cheerleaders...Hahaha.

Hey how about those BJ's as well? Man, they are soooooooo fucken atrocious. For a team favored to win the division according to many, they've sure turned into the biggest bunch of underachievers that side of the Br0nx! Gibbons needs his decrepit ass fired yesterday.

Ahh look, a Boston Red Sox fan posts. You wait until the Yankees are on a losing streak and your team wins a RARE game?

Last I have seen, the Red Sox STILL have a losing record. Hate to break up your delusions of a winning season there, K.

Taking my cue from the numerous B0mber fans here. Isn't that how you do it, DD? Hahaha

So instead of retiring Berni Williams number tonight maybe he can suit up in CF and replace that disaster HeathCock out there????

You, like your "friends" must follow the Yankees more than Yankee fans. i didn't see Slade Heathcott play. He has 8 put outs, 18 innings fielding, and no errors. But like I say, Red Sox fans saeem to watch more Yankee games than anyone.

Losing record at home.
Losing record overall.
Second worst ERA in the AL.
Third worst batting in the AL.
Second last place in the division.

What were the so called experts thinking.

Everyone knew the Jays would be one of the best hitting teams in the league, but had a lot of question marks at pitching...both starting pitching and the bullpen. It didn't take a genius to figure that one out. But to say Gibbons should be fired is totally wrong. This one's on the Alex Anthopoulos, not Gibbons. Everyone knew they had to beef up the bullpen and acquire a couple of starters prior to the season, and the GM failed on all counts.

But the season is still very young. Lately, the starting pitching has been very good. The bullpen has also been better and the bats have been consistent. They lost something like 10 games by a single run, but i'm confident they'll bounce back and once again dominate.

They're still way better than the Red Sux and the Yankees if you ask me.

To fans with a team,

Isn't that how you do it, DD?

Not really. He hasn't manned-up to name his team yet. Or it's that one I heard of once that he's never mentions any more. He just complains.

http://espn.go.com/mlb/team/stats/splits/_/name/bos/boston-red-sox

Well the disastrous pitching of April has turned into All-Star toughness in May. The Red Sox have turned their pitching staff completely around from an ERA of 5.o4 in April to 4.05 in May, and 3.77 in the last 7 games. Wade Miley, who was atrocious in April has become devastating with another LIGHTS OUT performance today. The team's weakness now is their horrible hitting with men on base that only produced 2 runs or less in 40% of their games as of a week ago. If this team gets it's hitting working at the same level as it's pitching currently they will be a hard task for anyone to face.

Hey how about those BJ's as well?

Note to Doc, say what you want about Farrell, the BJ's are proving it wasn't him. The Jays have totally sucked balls without Farrell despite a team that on paper should be a steady contender. There's something that just SUCKS winning right out of teams in Toronto. Ironically it's the Raptors who are the class of that city..not the BJ's...not the perennial April golfers.

Manned up? Do I have to mention a team? Only teams mentioned here are the Red Sox and the Yankees. Sometimes, the Blue Jays and sometimes the Mets. You mention another team and there is no further comment about those teams. So why bother?

I have to tell you I don't like Red Sox fans. They are truly obnoxious by reputation and a few I have met in real life. (http://www.boston.com/sports/blogs/obnoxiousbostonfan/)

No, I did not make that term up to describe Red Sox fans. It is well established ... see the link.

For many years, Red Sox fans would say the same thing about Yankees fans. But since 2004, it all changed. Winning a couple of world series totally went to their heads. No wonder, as Boston Globe reporter Bob Ryan said last week, Boston sports teams are now the most hated of all sports, surpassing New York sports teams. He directly referred to the Red Sox, Patriots and Bruins. He didn't say much about the Celtics since they suck big time.

The Red Sox will likely finish last this season. They're simply a bad team and their 'stars' are gold. Ortiz should retired, same thing with Napoli. Pedroia should be traded since he still has value, or ask for a trade in order to win a championship somewhere else while he still has a chance. They keep overpaying for players, yet still suck year after year. Plus the fact they have the worse manager in baseball.
