Just an observation I'd like to share, and maybe start a discussion: I much prefer artful photos that manage to obscure an SP's face 'naturally' than the the heavy-handed re-touched ones.

Don't you find a picture of the SP craning her neck and highlighting her clavicle while simply twisting her face out of the camera's angle or out of the frame better? Or having her hair obscure her face as if she had just finished a vigorous round of doggy style? Rather than seeing very shoddy photoshop-ing that makes it look like the SP's face was burned by acid? Or a pixelated/blurred face that brings to mind witness relocation programs and pitched-down voices rather than a beautiful face with piercing eyes?

Maybe the photographers could have the SP wear sunglasses... say the big Jackie O. sunglasses that are, oh, so fashionable these days. Sunglasses and a bikini could be very fashionable for summer pictures. For the current season, though, maybe they should have them wear a tuque and scarf obscuring their faces, mittens, and nothing else. ;)

Tattoos

Oh yeah, and it should be noted somewhere that the SP's tattoos have been photoshop-ed.

It goes both ways! Some clients dislike tattoos and would probably rather see another lady. Others love tattoos and would would like to know if the SP has any, but understand the SP's need for privacy... Though considering their ubiquity these days, maybe this is just a non-issue.

I prefer the uncomplicated, natural, solutions you are suggesting over re-touched pictures.

Actually, re-touched pictures wouldn't be that unappealing if only photographers knew the fuck they are doing.

Agrippa,
To me, it does not make any difference since hidding is hidding anyway.
But true, esthetically I totally agree with you.
Mind you, there are some kind of "masquerade" that simply turn me off ->
remember Lana Lee (http://www.muscularcamgirl.com/)
I do not know if that was trying to hide something or not..but that big plastic shape
around her is .....

Hard to make it right sometimes ...

Lately we had to change Ivanna's profile for Quincy cause she got reconized by her very slylished hair. After that she was ''cook'' cause even under Quincy, the ''targeter'' :)D ) reconized her even with the head hide.

Of course, such a beautiful ''petite body'' was hard to beeing show differently

For now, she decided to take some time off and think about it. Eventually we are thinking about a complete photo shooting for her ... If she wants to come back into the business. Also, another agency where ''to hide'' could be a solution.

Tattoos, birthmarks, beauty marks, percings are all details that may screw up the ladies identities.

Like it is, yes accurate pics are important these days, but like in Ivanna-Quincy's case, I lost at the end ... :(

It is a shame though one of the realitiea that most sp's must ensure some kind of anonymity so they may function in their private lives. It would be great to see a face as well as other feminine charms. A person's face tells so much about them. It would certainly be an asset to a client in looking for some element of chemistry. Would be great to have some kind of members only section on agency websites if there were some way to ensure against misuse.

That said, if it has to be than I can see advantages to both techniques. The natural has a bit more of an artistic bent to it. The haze-out however sometimes gives a suggestion as to the shape of the face and the countenance behind for clients to whom that maybe important. Sometimes one can detect other features through the haze. But no matter how you slice it a photo will never beat a well attended GT.

Very true. Though this then raises the issue of the client's privacy. It's a public place, what does one answer when asked "What's going on here? [wink, wink, nudge, nudge]"? "Oh, we're just catching up after a grueling day at the plastic surgeons conference..." :D

Indeed, I raise the issue only as a question of aesthetics. The SPs' privacy is a given.

You mean the orange halo around her on the front page? I don't think it's to hide anything. It's just a photoshop 'trick' to outline something on a black background.

The reality is that it is very hard to conceal your identity even with adjustments to a picture. When someone is hell bent on finding you, they will... face blurred, or turned or whatever. So we should at least make the pictures visually stimulating and not do the blur thing - it ends up looking kind of weird... I like the witness protection comment, i could totally see that.

Aesthetically, and as a photographer, I would prefer the head turned away. But for chosing an SP, I sometimes like to have the head full front with face buffered away. It still allows me to get an idea of the general facial contours, jaw, etc. I find I have been able to have some idea/ prediction of how she will look in general pleasing not pleasing terms. My favorite is when some pictures show chin, some others show nose from profile, etc. You can do a little mental composite. I guess I might have been a police sketch artist in a past incarnation...

Funny you should mention it!

Funny you should have zeroed in on my comment about Gt's and Anik should post in the same thread. Did have the pleasure to sit and chat with her at a GT. There isn't a picture in the world that could do justice to her charm, intelligence and quick wit. What is important is that there is nothing plastic about this girl. Yet others sometimes do not make one feel as comfortable. So yes, nothing beats meeting an sp in a social setting, period. (Doesn't really apply to this picture thing but had to come "right back atcha!"lol)

Actually I have attended many GTs and not once, that I observed, did anyone ever approach us to ask who we were or what was going on. If anything all we ever got were some curious looks from some women and envious stares from their male companions. :D

And I will add that the majority if not all of the ladies I have met in person are rarely done justice by their photos on the net.

Other than tattoos, what I feel should be mentioned in a lady's description are if she has any piercings or if her breasts are natural or enhanced. Aside from that I agree with Agrippa's original two posts in this thread. Creative photography beats Photoshop every time.
